Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

Fluffy well that's the alternative, but Crazy isn't supposed to twat anything at the mo!

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2020 09:37

I actually threatened to leave DH (and meant it) when the kids were little as not only did he barely do anything (hard with little ones at home, but he could do ) housework wise (SAHD, me WOH, FT with 90 minute commute each way), but he was also trashing everything I was getting up 30 minutes' early to do, so we at least kept on top of it. I'd come back to a tip. I exploded one day and told him to buck his bloody ideas up or move back to his mum. 😂

We had words last night Fluffy. Something similar happens at the start of most terms but usually only for a day or 2 which I'm fine with.
Normally I do housework while he's doing work in the evening but because I'm WFH I'm doing the little jobs in the day (laundry, tidying, dishwasher etc) so there's less to do when he's doing work.
The thing that tipped me over the edge was going into the kitchen before bed and seeing he had put 2 glasses and his lunchbox on the counter above the dishwasher AND taken a few things out of the fridge that were out of date and just left them on the side 😡 like it's my job to sort that out / deal with gone off food just because I'm here more.
He looked suitably guilty when I exploded pointed it out. He got out of bed and sorted it and I'll put money on me coming home from the tea party to a sparkling house later though 🙄 and if not I'll call an mn army to help me with a patio It's like me being annoyed will reset the balance 😂

Fluffy I'm not surprised you went mad. It's usually the rule here that if it's school holidays, I work, DH does all the housework which seems fair to me.

I think I'm a bit sensitive to it because I'm strict about not becoming my mum - my dad has always worked full time and dm has always done all housework (and most child related things when we were young). Df would do it but mum feels it is her job - and I definitely can't be falling into that pattern!

MarshmallowManiac · 17/09/2020 11:40

Morning everyone.
Feeling quite hot here but a little breezy here. Sunflowers are starting to peek out and it's making me feel really happy. I remember in an old house when the kids were small, we used to have great big Mummy and Daddy sunflowers and it takes me back to that time of DC playing in the garden and seemingly calmer times, but in reality it seems to be mad in our house all the time. Grin Grin Still waiting on my daughter's result Sad

Hope you get your result soon Wreck

Crazy hope you enjoy your tea party and Happy Birthday to your nephew. Hope you BP settles down soon, I have the opposite problem mine is always too low. Smile

Why Flowers

At least you've got lots of jobs sorted Mrs, yes hope they come back clear. We love cloudy lemonade in this house. Smile

We have a clippers too Boots and over the years must have saved £££ on DH's hair.

Hope you enjoyed your run Fluffy want to get back into it but lacking motivation.

WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 12:20

Swab result back and negative. Phew!

CrazyBaubles · 17/09/2020 12:23

As expected my Christmas cruise has been cancelled today. Gutted though - I was finally going to see a European Christmas market Xmas Sad
Depending on lockdown conditions, I'm either going to spend the day I had booked off for this Christmas shopping or indulging in festive films etc.

We're rebooking for next year and keeping fingers crossed our October trip goes ahead but I doubt it somehow.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2020 12:32

Wreck, get them into school for this afternoon's session! 😂😂

Crazy, that's a shame. But, as you say, not unexpected.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 12:44

Don't fluffy dd is having a strop because she wants to go in and I've said no! I don't have time for that right now!

CrazyBaubles · 17/09/2020 13:02

Will you send her in tomorrow then wreck?

I can't imagine kicking off because I wanted to go to school - as much as I liked it, I'd always prefer to stay home!

WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 13:09

Yes they'll go in tomorrow. It's because she's got Forest school this afternoon. I've sent them to the park instead!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/09/2020 13:42

I do get mse email Fluffy and I was about to go to bed the other night when I spotted the bank incentive. I did not know about inflatable cushions thank you I will check it out later.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/09/2020 13:48

Boots I thought I would be in the bathroom forever once I eventually got back 🤣

WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 13:53

Crazy I'm sorry about your cruise. It's all so shit. We're planning on this way of life/working for the next two years at work which is depressing. Holidays have got to continue though surely?

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/09/2020 14:00

Wreck great news about the test results. I'm fairly certain that at her age I'd be telling my mum that there was no point in going back to school on a Friday 😂 and I loved school.

Crazy that's a bummer about your cruise and your DH leaving stuff for you to do is even more annoying. I don't work, so I do the vast majority of the housework (mostly willingly) but I hate being taken for granted.

I'm keeping my head down - the bedroom window is open and I might have snorted very loudly this morning when my opposite neighbour reversed off his drive and sent his bin flying. It was before the bin lorry came too 😂

pussycatinboots · 17/09/2020 14:14

Woolly At least it was his own bin. NDN reversed into a row of 3 and they toppled like dominos, with ours coming off worst and losing the top few bags. She hastily scooped up most of it before checking her bumper for damage driving off. I had to squash a laugh - you can't help it. 😂
Wreck I'd also say it was pointless me going back for a friday, unless I had History or Biology that day. 🤷🏻‍♀️😁
Crazy have the cruise company offered you an upgrade for your new booking? a friend got an extra 20% to spend when their first one was cancelled, and another 20% when the replacement (Christmas) was cancelled. I think they've moved it to about May or June now.

WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 14:32

I think pre covid they might have? But they've realised how much they like school now and were sad to be off.

MarshmallowManiac · 17/09/2020 15:10

YAYY my DD's test has come back and it's negative, back to making lunches and a bit of routine. Smile

OMG you're DD's keen Wreck, as much as I loved school meeting friends I would have said no point going in on a Friday.

Sorry to hear about your cruise Crazy

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2020 16:41

FAB video Boot love the thre amigos Grin car looks great Smile
Great stuff that Wreck & MM Dc are Cv19 free yay! Grin
Crazy that is bad luck love , l know how much you enjoy your holidays Flowers
Woolly Grin
MM We have had our sunflowers out for ages , did you sow them late? Smile
Cannot complain re my Dh he's a diamond in the house and cooking and garden , l am very lucky l know Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/09/2020 17:05

This sunflower talk allows me to post my photo from a couple of summers ago. It's a maize maze that we visit during the school holidays - unfortunately it wasn't open this year for obvious reasons. I'm utterly shite at finding the way through but DD1 is a whizz. They do give you a map but I concentrate on solving the clues and she does directions.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2020 17:46

Yayyyy into Double Figures now Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 17/09/2020 18:33

Love the sunflower, Woolly. Sunflowers are definitely one of my favourite flowers, although I struggle to grow them as they get slugged in the garden, and pigeoned at the allotment Sad

Glad to hear that the test results were negative Wreck and MM. Back to normal, for now at least!

DS has started with a snotty nose, and our local numbers are now on a par with those parts of the NE which are going back into lockdown, so we're playing a bit of a waiting game now to see if he keeps going to school.

In other news, I have continued my spree of destruction. Managed to smash the screen of my Fitbit while I was swimming this morning but didn't realise, so water got in and it's completely kaput. I've been looking at alternatives, as I didn't use most of the smart watch features. Trying to work out whether I like the features of the Versa I did use £50-worth more than the Charge...

WreckTangled · 17/09/2020 18:45

I have a Vera fire but I only got it because I couldn't get my sugar levels up on the charge hr and I can on this one. It's worth looking on Facebook market and eBay though. Also test messaged etc are easier to read on the versa which is handy at work Grin

FireflyGirl · 17/09/2020 20:13

I've gone for it and ordered a new Versa. I know I like it and it does everything I want.

In other news - I need a Nutcracker soap dispenser...

Yes of course I planted it late Mrs last to the party me

I plant them with plastic pots with holes in to allow them to grow and help the slug problem Firefly, thankfully haven't seen any slugs thus far. Smile
