Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

Morning.

Wreck I'm still in my pjs so can relate. I have no motivation to do anything today.

I've bought ds the paw patrol lookout thing that was on the bargain thread. It's not the one he was looking for but there was only one left in NI and £26 is far better than £90.

NerosFiddle · 13/09/2020 10:37

Most that's typical. We can't get tests here at all. I think it's the same everywhere though.

WreckTangled · 13/09/2020 10:49

Oh no most!

We're at football now and it's so warm. T shirt weather. Going to be meeting 30° tomorrow.

lachy · 13/09/2020 10:59

Good morning all, its a lovely day here, and we'll be spending it packing boxes! M has decided to wear a party dress today, because, well why wouldn't you Grin

BiddyPop · 13/09/2020 11:04

I’m still in pjs too - but have done a few jobs and just waiting for hot glue gun to be ready to do 1 more before I have a shower. DH has taken DD to 1st hockey session of the day so it’s peaceful for an hour.

CrazyBaubles · 13/09/2020 11:15

I like Ms style lachy Grin

It's warm here too so I'm about to put my last load of washing on the line (in my pjs Blush)

My plans to meet dsis and the kids for lunch and a visit to the park has fallen through as both babies are ill so I'm just home alone for the day.

I'm going to add a sparkly silver border to the Christmas cushion and get started on something new - either the next cushion or the Christmas cross stitch.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2020 11:40

Crazy, I'm often in the garden in my sometimes very short! nightwear!

We're at MM now. It's sunny but very breezy. I put our bedding on the line before we left. The darks were put out overnight so will finish off today (they were almost-dry, other than the jeans).

I have been up for a while as I am cooking dinner for the parents. I have also started knitting a scarf for mum for Christmas because I am bound to mess it up and want time to sort it out without pressure 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2020 12:11

Mum is getting crafty presents all round, what with the bookmark I'm doing for her!

She will love homemade things Fluffy.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2020 13:53

It gets increasingly hard to buy stuff for them! They just buy anything they need.

Our Santa train has just been cancelled. Xmas Sad Not unexpected, as a big part of it is the sing-a-long on board, but it'll be the first year since DD was a baby that we haven't done one.

WreckTangled · 13/09/2020 19:36

Oh no fluffy

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/09/2020 20:33

Fluffy I got Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles last year when it was a kindle deal for 99p. It's a lovely walk through the festive season with some recipes rather than a cook book.

Most good job your DH has leave to take. Hope your DS stays well.

Fluffy boo to Santa train cancellation. Does the little train in HB (where my SIL is) do anything festive. Won't be a patch on what you're missing out on but any port in a storm.

Why is it the woodland behind the Holiday Inn that's threatened with development? I'll obviously be doing them a favour clearing some greenery.

I've had to hide the bargain thread 🤣. I've got lots of bits stashed away already and I'm in danger of just buying because it's a bargain.

I'd happily have another freezer in the garage. I need to convince DH that it would be a good idea but DD2's stories of panic buying people emptying the shelves in her workplace are making us uneasy. I've got very well stocked cupboards but would happily find a home for somewhere to keep some more meat and fruit/veg.

I tested the fruit for my Christmas cakes yesterday. Flipping lovely if I say so myself.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2020 20:54

Woolly, yes, that was the first Santa train we ever did. It's only a 5 minute ride each way (have you ever been along the line?), but is quite sweet. I'll have to look.

Nigel Slater seems OK as a person, but his 'left over' always makes me and DH 🙄 and 😂 in equal measure! No normal person has such things in such quantities as 'left overs'.

All of that end of town was woodland, Woolly. How long have you been in the county? The housing estate on the outskirts of town, on the other side of the roundabout, was all woods when Why and I were little. We used to go blackberrying there.

I'd suggest just buying the freezer! Are people panic buying stockpiling again?

Mrsmadevans · 13/09/2020 20:55

Fluffy ahh love that is a right disappointment for you all Flowers
Drooling over your soaked fruit Woolly Grin
am just off to the bargain thread for a gander Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/09/2020 21:02

I've been here for just over 31 years Fluffy - wedding anniversary is this week and I moved down about 6 weeks before we got married. Where I live now was like the far side of the moon to the town we lived in previously though. Public transport was virtually non existent then and it was a few years before I learned to drive.

SIL used to take her littlies on the train but our DC were a bit too cool to go on when we visited.

I'll have a look on FB to see if anyone is offloading a freezer.

pussycatinboots · 13/09/2020 21:08

Woolly do you mean they're clearing the shelves again (now)?
It wouldn't surprise me, I thought it was mental in Morrisons on Thursday. There was much muttering from behind my mask🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/09/2020 21:11

Yup Boots on Friday they sold 4 pallets of bog roll. Each pallet has about 80 packets of 18 rolls. Very clean bottoms locally.

NerosFiddle · 13/09/2020 21:15

Woolly are you me? I've had to hide the bargain thread. I've bought far too much crap I don't really want or need. I have had a couple of bargains too though. I'd also love another freezer but Dh won't hear of it.

Fluffy that's too bad about the train. I'm expecting ours to be cancelled too. Though, they put a video up on fb to say they are putting in more stringent standards.

I always bought 3kg bags of pasta and haven't been able to get it since lockdown. I wasn't even stockpiling, we just eat a lot of pasta. People are definitely panic buying again. I don't think that we'll go into another lockdown but tbh I think that we should.

pussycatinboots · 13/09/2020 21:16

Woolly That's one thing (and sanpro) that I've kept buying, so I won't run out. Although I may have to sell some for bread at some point.🤔🤨😂

NerosFiddle · 13/09/2020 21:50

Boots stock up on part baked bread. Then when Armageddon comes you can barter it for wine!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/09/2020 23:02

Yes Woolly it is the woodland threatened behind the Holiday Inn.

pussycatinboots · 14/09/2020 06:14

Neros The part baked bread idea is a good one. I know there's some Paul Hollywoood rolls in Morrisons - might try a pack to see if they're edible what they're like.
Heading to Morrisons early this morning. I'm not going after 9 again if I can help it - too many people and too little SD.
