Thanks @sorryiasked for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

Thanks for escape etc game replies.

I don't mind if not reusable, happy to buy instead of crackers (the pulling kind) this year

Right, off down the rabbit hole of board game geek site ....

WisestIsShe · 02/09/2020 20:54

If anyone sees the le creuset wine opener do in price again, please shout out. Gutted I've missed it twice.

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 20:59

@WisestIsShe are any of these from eCookshop any good? I love eCookshop - they have good prices for the Spode Christmas Tree range too.

WisestIsShe · 02/09/2020 21:02

@TheWoollybacksWife thanks. They aren't quite as bargains as the Amazon ones have been. Although I love the way you know my secret desire to buy two sets of Spode Christmas tree before I've even really acknowledged it to myself Xmas Blush Xmas Grin

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/09/2020 21:04

Has anybody seen any good deals on scruff a luvs. They look very faddy but dd4 seems to think they will be amazing and she really wants one

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 21:10

Just call me Mystic Woolly @WisestIsShe

Madvixen · 02/09/2020 21:18

@TheWoollybacksWife are they pretty reliable? I love some of the Spode Christmas tableware (and the prices are fab).

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 21:24

@Madvixen I've bought Spode items from them before. I've got the sweet dish, the cake forks and the cake slice. Always arrive on time. Always perfect.

I'm probably getting a serving dish or two this year - I'd love the dinner service but don't have storage space for it so I'm building up some peripheral/decorative items and mixing them up with the gold/white stuff I already have.

Yeknom · 02/09/2020 21:26

@999caffeineplease would you be happy with a second hand one? They're often on fb marketplace and true to Ikea quality always in good nick...the problem you'd have would be storage as it'd be already built (although would save a Christmas Eve job!!)

Clevererthanyou · 02/09/2020 21:33

17caterpillars I can’t recommend any good deals on Scruff a Luvs but I can tell you to avoid the smaller Easter/spring versions as they’re awful and there is zero replay in them. I only bought one because it was down to £5.50 at the Entertainer.

mrsdaz · 02/09/2020 21:42

@JuiceyBetty

I'd love an oodie, but being a size 20 means it'd just be a skintight hoody on me!
I'm an 18 and it's still loose on me :-)
HanPanPeg · 02/09/2020 21:55

@999caffeineplease we are after an Ikea kitchen too but keeping an eye on local groups, as more than anything it’s a pain to build apparently!

FilthyforFirth · 02/09/2020 21:57

I can also vouch for ecookshop. I have got quite a few Spode Christmas Tree bits from there @Madvixen, always arrived on time and great bargains!

I dithered over the Asda coat and now black is pretty much sold out! I got yellow instead..

My mum just got this for my niece for Christmas, pretty decent savings on a toot toot princess castle

pasinphoebe · 02/09/2020 21:58

@Jedstre thanks for warning me off! I think those were the ones I was thinking of I remember them being a letter and number. Hmmm have to think a bit more. @buckeejit will look at those thanks very much.

Bezzi · 02/09/2020 21:59

@17caterpillars1mouse
scruff a luv in Argos clearance, might even worth looking if they have any in your area (they don't in mine!)

sorryiasked · 02/09/2020 22:10

Lego central perk (friends) set down to £50 on Amazon which seems to be a good price?

Thread 4 - the one with holy flaps
Smileatthesmallthings · 02/09/2020 22:13

The le creuset wine opener seems to be £14 in cherry red but £50 in black or grey.

pasinphoebe · 02/09/2020 22:16

I can’t remember if this was mentioned but escape room game in Argos clearance for £20.
I’d also recommend Harry Potter game for board game fans. If you like labyrinth, pandemic, carcassonne etc.
It’s a collaborative game so you all work together, no falling out / losing! It’s not just for HP fans. Not necessarily a bargain but recommended for a good game addition if your family are into games.

HaggisTheGreat · 02/09/2020 22:21

@pasinphoebe I have the urbanista wireless headphones. Never had the AirPods so can’t compare but I am happy with them. They are around £27 on Amazon, so a bit cheaper than the ones another PP linked to.

@Luxplus DD had the Barbie advent calendar one year and TBH it was a bit of a disappointment - most of it was the rubbishy plastic accessories such as shoes, headbands, “handbags” etc for the dolls, rather than actual clothes. And the shoes get lost very easily....

Givealittlebit · 02/09/2020 22:24

God I can't keep up this year! Pretty much missed the whole of the third thread.
Is it just me or are they moving much quicker earlier this year? Trying to figure out if it's yet another effect of Covid (always welcoming new bargain hunters - these threads have been amazing for me the past few years!)

lilythepink32 · 02/09/2020 22:37

What is this thread?

EvilHerbivore · 02/09/2020 22:38

Fisher Proce puppy, half off at Amazon

Thread 4 - the one with holy flaps
999caffeineplease · 02/09/2020 22:47

@Yeknom @HanPanPeg secondhand would definitely do just fine, it really is just the storage of it!

Might just need to make the cupboard of doom under the stairs off limits if I find one for a good price Smile

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/09/2020 23:02

layla my daughter loves her fingerlings, she goes through phases of playing loads with it and then it sits there. Apparently making it fart or burp never stops being funny!!

nightowl not sure if it makes a difference in your decision or may be something to consider, the kindle e readers don't have games or Internet on them, they are purely for reading and as there's no backlight it isn't bad for their eyes. They worked out cheaper in the long run for us with all the free books, and buying a disc with thousands of books on from ebay. Me and my daughter are big readers (I can read 2-3 a week!) I too understand the technology battle, mine are in for a shock this week in preparation for starting back at school!
