Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Tkmaxx had a few Our generation dolls for £19.99 and a couple of different outfits for £12.99. Not the horse riding one though. I’m on the lookout for some Our Generation bargains for my almost 5 year old.

overweightcat · 18/08/2020 18:43

Ooooh can I join?
I'm hoping to start early this year so I'm not panicking later on as I usually do.

Keeping an eye out for nice electric toothbrushes for my DM and DF as I think they will really like them.
Love the ted baker set @EvilHerbivore I think I might get it for SIL.

Out of curiosity what would you get a very young looking 70 yo lady who has tonnes of jewellery, makeup she never uses some still in original packaging and a large spare bedroom full of clothes?
She's a brilliant cook and baker and very keen gardener.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 18/08/2020 18:48

@overweightcat amazon always have toothbrushes on daily deals. Boots also usually discount them around black Friday

My dentist told me to get a model thats 2500 or above. ( i have no idea what the numbers mean!)

4 children's bamboo toothbrushes
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KPL2ZGT/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I bought these last year. Use a market to put initials on so the children know which is which

Price: £2.51 & FREE Delivery

Ehunt1 · 18/08/2020 19:23

@overweightcat I’m a dental hygienist, any of the sonicare or oral b electric brushes are great. Tbh don’t bother with anything super fancy like the ones that have Bluetooth or anything. I mean who really needs their toothbrush to connect to their phone anyway?? Boots and Superdrug are usually best for half price deals. A lot of the cheap unbranded/cheaper brushes on amazon Are rubbish even if the reviews are saying they are good.

This fills up fast. I can't keep up!

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/08/2020 19:52

I’m looking for a bargain on something like happyland - it’s for a 1.5 year old who doesn’t have an awful lot (not neglected, just doesn’t have a whole heap of toys, there isn’t a lot of extended family etc.) and she’s my niece so I wanted to get her something auntie worthy Grin Any ideas or bargains to hand?

Lellyo · 18/08/2020 19:56

Just coming on to say thank you very much for the JL code, i’ve just used it for 2 games, Linkee, as suggested on here( thank you) and the Peaky Blinders game.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 18/08/2020 20:03

My sipsmith gin arrived from John Lewis but the package was damaged.

Can't be bothered to complain for £3.50 though!

Pound stretcher has some cute little unicorn toys in eggs for about 79p at the moment. There's quite a few of them in different colours. We've been using them as reward chart gifts.

Wigglegiggle0520 · 18/08/2020 20:07

@TheGirlWhoLived would you consider second hand? I got a load of second hand happyland on Shpock for my little one for next to nothing. She was none the wiser and it was still in good condition. I think happy land is really expensive for what it is!

SecretDancer · 18/08/2020 20:08

Thanks for the new thread.

I've just ordered a couple of the Usborne peep inside books for £3.57 each Amazon
My nearly 4yo loves others in the series, great for stockings or present drawer

xoxogossipgirl2020 · 18/08/2020 20:15

@TheGirlWhoLived I’ve not looked for a bargain on it but what about the Disney princess little people/castle? My daughter had it and loved it and would get more use as she gets older too

Like pp suggested the fisher price little people Disney castle is great, my dd 2 has it and she plays with it all the tine. Argos currently have it down to £28 which is a great price for it.
NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 18/08/2020 20:48

Does anyone remember the online department store (It may have been in real life as well but certainly wasn’t a chain) that had some good bargains a couple of years back?

Juiceey · 18/08/2020 20:50

I've added Linkee to CCC!

Everybodysaycheese · 18/08/2020 20:55

@TheGirlWhoLived
My DD got this for her last Christmas (not quite 2) and it gets played with lots.
www.elc.co.uk/action-figures-and-playsets/action-figures/Happyland-Cherry-Lane-Cottage/p/540426?&cm_mmc=----+-+&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI98TflsOl6wIVT-3tCh1WDgFsEAQYCyABEgKbKPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I wouldn't pay full price for it. DD also got the advent calendar last year which gave her extra furniture for the house.
