MrsMad handbag? Wardrobe? Your usual dining room hideaway? My mum used to lose stuff that she'd hidden. Christmas used to last until New Year when I was a teenager.

NerosFiddle · 15/08/2020 19:09

Evening

Had a busy old day. Got my hair chopped this morning and I hate it.
When I got home Dh had the pool out for dc so we sat out and I have been burnt to a crisp. God, I hate the summer!

WreckTangled · 15/08/2020 19:12

Oh neros sorry you don't like your hair Sad have you stolen my sunshine? It's been cloudy all day (still no rain though, can't remember the last time it rained!).

I've done three loads of washing and dried two of them, hung the other, including the bedding. Folded loads. Cleaned the kitchen, hoovered throughout and mopped the kitchen and bathroom. Plus watched the first three episodes of suits. Going to binge it in the next few weeks.

NerosFiddle · 15/08/2020 19:19

Wreck the hair will grow back so I'm not really bothered by it. Everybody warned me about getting it cut short but of course I knew better.

No I'm hoping to get a thunder storm like you all got last week. But it's set to be sunny and dry until Thursday.

WreckTangled · 15/08/2020 19:26

We didn't get a thunder storm Sad I've had the back door open all day too it's still fairly warm here. I feel like the house is still hot from the heatwave, every time I open a cupboard upstairs it's like opening the oven HmmGrin I always get my hair cut then grow it long and repeat. I'll never be happy with it.

MarshmallowManiac · 15/08/2020 21:01

70 I think a poor man in his twenties was killed on the Dartford Crossing on the M25 this morning. I think police were called to the scene about 6am. Sad My nearest Costco is in Thurrock I think, but I feel I will be venturing there later in the year. Smile

Mrs we have had a little rain this evening, but we have been really lucky. I'm in Kent, my brain is fuzzy sometimes too Grin Good luck with the search, I'm always losing/forgetting I bought stuff every year. The year before last we went to MIL as usual, and I forget ALL the DC's main presents. I was not so popular that year I can tell you. Grin

Sorry you do not like your new hairstyle Neros

Wow a busy day Wreck

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/08/2020 21:21

Ah , yes , I got DD to search on her phone when we were on the M25 Marsh , it was very sketchy for detail and very little on the radio just it was named as a Police Incident not a RTA , and there was news of an individual on the carriageway which would've been the young man who died
Very Sad

Mrsmadevans · 15/08/2020 22:37

I've found it in my Dining room/present room/ hovel thank you Woolly Grin
Aw Nero that is just a right pain Flowers
Wreck l have seen the pic you put on here ages ago
(minus your face & Dh face lol) when you went to the races, your hair is really lovely , it was long then Smile
Marsh in Kent . I have never been there but from watching many LLL lol it looks absolutely beautiful Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 15/08/2020 22:44

It is lovely Mrs they call it the garden of England. We have been on some fabulous walks in lockdown, so many fields of wheat, corn, orchards and rivers. Before then I had not really went for many walks here, but the scenery is lovely, we are very lucky, you should visit if you can. Smile

Snowbeau · 15/08/2020 22:55

Hiya
I've dipped in and out of a few of these threads but started talking Christmas with DH today, and bought the first Christmas present so I'm now raring to go!

I'm normally far more organised for Christmas sorting, this year seems to have gone in a massive frenzy of working all through lockdown so I feel a bit on a back foot of my Christmas organising.
I really want to improve stockings this year, I feel the last few have been a bit shoddy (ds1 is only 5) but I feel like the stuff I got was barely used. I think I might go for bits I know will get used up, bubble bath, bubbles, pencils etc.
Any stocking wins out there? Or any top tips?

MarshmallowManiac · 15/08/2020 23:01

Welcome Snowbeau mine normally like things like chocolate coins, chocolate orange, lego figures, fluffy socks, colouring books, chocolate santa. [santa]

Morning!

It chucked it down overnight here. The cat must've known it was coming as he came in before we went to bed! Other than to eat, and one long sleep during the day, he's stayed outside since we got here really.

We are going to do another walk today. I think near Ambleside as the one near here as a steep start and finish which will be a bit too slippery after the rain.

I watched a Biffy Clyro gig last night. It was brilliant. If weird that it was recorded!

Morning.
NDNs cat woke us by having a scrap with an infiltrator at 4, and there were a couple of parties on the go around here last night too. I think one lot were a bit deflated (man city fans) at the footy result Grin. So not much sleep and an early start.
Grey, damp n drizzly - it must be autumn!
Enjoy your walk, fluffy

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 16/08/2020 07:14

Morning all.

Welcome snow

Sorry to hear you don't like your hair nero

Will be having a quiet day today as was up at 4am with molten lava coming out of my rear end. I thought I was going to pass out it was so bad.

Someone was on our development trying doors too so the police were here with dogs.

Will do some more Christmas shopping from the sofa :)

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2020 07:21

Oh no, Most. I hope you and your arse feel better soon.

Ours plans have changed. It's chucking it down still and forecast to all day. Not good. If was forecast showers / clearing, we'd go anyway, but downpours are no fun.

The cat brings us presents every day. No rabbits yet (his new skill, apparently), but plenty of mice including live ones! I'm glad he likes us. 😂😂

Afternoon everyone.
Have emptied another 2 1/2 boxes. Had a disagreement with DH as he just wants to relocate boxes/bags into peoples rooms, and I said if he wants to empty a box we have to have a place for everything and put it all away in cupboards/wardrobes etc so I can't see it any more Grin Happily it has all been put away. Smile

Hope you get a chance to have a little nap Boots

Sorry about your rear end Most

Lovely cat Fluffy

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/08/2020 13:09

Ahh gorgeous cat fluffy

My two cats are going out in all weathers -including downpours - they shelter under the patio table when he cat door is about 10 steps away . Then come in with drenched fur and procede to wash loudly .

They were living as little wild ruffians before they were picked up by the CPL so claim they're going back to their roots and cats don't actually dissolve Xmas Grin

I am dithering on the haircut front - I've read so many threads on disaster haircuts , but I really only need 2" cut off .
I'm debating a fringe - good to cover the old forehead and I wear a hat at work.
Right now I look like Frank Gallagher (Shameless) -minus the ciggie .
But I risk looking like Lou from Little Britain ( David Walliams character) if I get a fringe .

CrazyBaubles · 16/08/2020 13:20

I've skim read the thread to catch up. I'm so sleepy, I'm not sure what's going on, my whole body feels sluggish.

most hope you're feeling better 💐 💩

Just about to leave for a roast dinner at my mums. Looking forward to it, especially as it feels so autumnal here. Much better than our few days in Yorkshire with MIL where it was scorching and we needed a fan all night to be able to sleep!

sideorderofchips · 16/08/2020 13:20

Afternoon all. After waiting weeks for a thunderstorm...

I slept right through it 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2020 15:38

That's the law of sod in action, Chips!

I sometimes get like that, Crazy. No idea what causes it though. It's like I have lead feet!

What kind of hat do you wear at work, 70? I had my hair cut a bit shorter last time. Not sure if I'm happy with it though. I'm not unhappy, just a bit meh!
