Here we go. We're still a chatty bunch. We're going to knock any previous thread count into a cocked hat!

Go, go, go...

Someone on this thread might know the answer to this...

I've got a fridge freezer (60/40 split). The freezer could do with defrosting but the fridge is quite full and everywhere is a bit warm, so I need to keep the stuff in the fridge part with the door shut. I can put the frozen stuff in the chest freezer in the garage while I do the usual of trays of warm water/freezer door open/gently scrape the ice in the freezer. Will this work?

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 20:09

Woolly should be ok - or can you pack some cool bags with freezer packs and stack the "sensitive" fridge stuff in that? just to be sure?
Then attack the freezer bit with a hair dryer (from a distance - don't get water on it) it will melt faster.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2020 20:12

I was about to suggest the same as Boots!

MarshmallowManiac · 14/08/2020 20:18

Sounds fine Woolly you could also put some saucepans of hot water on the shelves too to melt it quicker.

That looks excellent Fluffy
I can't help crying at loads of things, the JL CHRISTMAS AD IS A test for me every yearHmm

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/08/2020 22:21

All done in just over an hour. I knew my fellow countdowners would be able to help. I'm going to run down my chest freezer stocks over the next week or two and then defrost that ready to stock up again for a sodding no deal Brexit

Morning!

We've all slept well last night. I think exhaustion hit hard. I couldn't even get to the end of Gardeners' World!

We're going to Grizedale today which should be good fun.

Well done on the freezer, Woolly. We need to sort and run down too. Though we have a bean glut, so our freezer will be mostly beans by the look of it!

I don't think I cry too often at the JL ad. Probably did when pregnant mind you as there were a number of not even remotely sad adverts which made me cry then! Grin

Morning. We're up and packing everything away so we can set off early ish (aiming for 9:30 to be home by lunchtime).
I haven't slept well, I'm so so tired.

I'm a bugger for the Christmas ads - a lot of them make me teary which annoys me. Why do they have to be sad? Much prefer them to be happy ones - one of my favourites is still the Sainsbury's school play one with the little boy dressed as a plug from a few years ago.
When I was on hormone treatment I didn't watch any Christmas ads because the one I watched made me cry so much I couldn't cope Xmas Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2020 08:10

That plug one was brilliant, Crazy!

You've channeled my Thursday night sleep, Crazy. I hope your DH will drive home?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/08/2020 08:11

I don't cry at anything. Heart of stone.

Dh and ds are helping pil's move house today so just dd and me home. I'm going to do a million loads of washing I think finally do the bedding

ConstantlyCooking · 15/08/2020 09:08

Morning all. Thank you for the new thread. I am planning to take stuff to the charity shop this morning. It has been cluttering up the spare room and I will need the space for my Christmas shopping soon Xmas Grin I have some gifts already plus bits for DD's Advent calendar but need to do an audit so I can plan properly. Plus DGD's first birthday in a few weeks Smile

pussycatinboots · 15/08/2020 10:00

Morning.
The JL dragon ad got me. I still want a dragon a real one Grin The plug one was fab too.
DH has had his karcher out again Hmm nothing in the garden is safe!
3rd load of washing in, some in the dryer and some on a maid in the conservatory (relatively safe unless he does the roof too🤦‍♀️)

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/08/2020 10:11

How wonderful Constantly 1st birthdays are special.

My stash is in the ottoman part of my bed. Which is fine as the DC are old enough to not go searching (the youngest is early teens) but two of them helped DH move the bed yesterday so he could paint. The ottoman flew open while they were moving it - luckily I store most things in their mailing bags/boxes so there wasn't much to see.

CrazyBaubles · 15/08/2020 10:27

Fluffy DH is doing the full drive home. It saves arguments about me driving "too slow" 🙄

Constantly an audit and full steam ahead planning will start here soon too.

Near miss there Woolly!

We are 45 mins into the drive home. We both hate this drive, it's so boring - motorway most of the way 😴

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 15/08/2020 10:57

Gosh close shave woolly!

Having a very autumnal morning, grey and drizzly, tumble drier going, blanket over knees doing cross stitch, light on as quite gloomy, DH cleaning and polishing autumn boots :)

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 15/08/2020 10:58

oh and having Heinz Cream of Tomato soup with crusty bread for lunch!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/08/2020 11:26

Good morning everyone. I think my brain died on shift yesterday so you now have to deal with me brainless 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2020 14:37

We've just done the 'strenuous' Carron Crag walk at Grizedale. It's apparently only 3m, but it's quite steep in places and hard work. Especially with a small child whining!

I believe I must've dealt with you in brainless mode before, Why! 😂

At least you can relax for the drive, Crazy! I sometimes ask DH why he's driving so slow when he's pootling along at 65mph on a clear motorway! 🙈😂

MarshmallowManiac · 15/08/2020 15:30

Afternoon everyone.
We have had rain, but only in our town. Where we live (4 miles out) has not seen a drop of rain. We went shopping this morning and it was lashing down, but as we made our way home it was totally dry. DH was happy as he thought we would not have to water the garden, but it was not to be. Grin

Hope your journey went well Crazy Loved the plug ad Grin

Hope the move is going well Wreck, must do all our bedding too.

Constantly we need a trip to the charity shop too, the only thing is the one near us are full and not taking stuff atm Sad How lovely, 1st birthdays are so very special Smile

Wow that was a narrow escape Woolly Smile

Enjoy your cross stitch Most Love Tomato soup with crust bread.

Hope your brain is feeling better Why

Enjoy Grizedale Fluffy

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/08/2020 16:27

Fluffy not only have you dealt with me in brainless mode, you dealt with me talking in my sleep feeling poorly mode 😀😂

MarshmallowManiac · 15/08/2020 16:42

Just emptied another of our boxes (from the move), they seem to be growing Put away Sainsbury's delivery, they always giving me substitutes but today beats all, I asked for Jam Sugar and they gave me some kind of syrup! Shock

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/08/2020 17:12

DD and I were planning a trip to Bluewater but there was an Incident on the QE2 Bridge and huge traffic delays so we diverted off to Lakeside to wait it out .

I saw a Christmas gift bag in Primarl (£1 bargain) but noted DDs It's August face and the fact it was too busy to queue Xmas Grin

Thunder/Lightning /heavy rain, it's Autumn here too . At least it's easier to sleep .

When I was at DParents I got into Good Eating Habits , breakfast then dinner at 5pm and no snacks . Managing to stick pretty well back home , no biscuits , only a couple of wrapped sweets and laid off the ice-cream.
Halo

Having oven baked potato and Some Sort of Soup that was in the freezer ( Carrot&Coriander I think )

Once it gets to Sept , Costco start their Christmas / Holiday range , I'll mosey on up there and have a looksie Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 15/08/2020 17:27
