Here we go. We're still a chatty bunch. We're going to knock any previous thread count into a cocked hat!

Go, go, go...

Counting down to back to school here. I do love back to school as it signifies the start of autumn

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2020 23:07

You can almost smell Christmas once the kids are back to school.

I have been making some sock puppets today with my Mum's neighbour, they were really easy to make too, l didn't have any idea about them but l soon learned . Very easy to make surprisingly .

A cordless iron sounds exciting! Or would if I ironed... I love my cordless vacuum cleaner.

I am enjoying suits to those who asked and am have way through season 2 now. I plan on ignoring the dc all week and just continuing to watch it Grin

September seems to be my time for ramping up my Christmas preps. Once the everyone here is back to work/uni/school I am going to do an audit and write a list. Really struggling with DD1 as I usually buy her theatre/concert tickets for her main present but I'm fairly sure that might not be possible next year. DD2 has given me a fair few ideas for her and DS has already told me anything guitar or Metallica related will be perfect.

MrsMad have you been bitten by a crafting bug?

Mrsmadevans · 16/08/2020 23:22

I've never seen a cordless iron . Very good idea !
Perhaps l can iron out the Sockpuppets with one .

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2020 23:24

They're definitely sock puppets, Mrs. You can tell a mile off!

Woolly, we're going to shampoo the downstairs carpets when the kids go back. We need them out of the bloody house! 😂😂

Mrsmadevans · 16/08/2020 23:27

I like how we can make out the sock puppets immediately , it's very easy.
Carpet shampooing is not a nice job Fluffy they stay wet for so long.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2020 23:34

I didn't find that last time, Mrs. The machine was quite efficient in drawing it out. Nothing opening all the windows won't solve!

Woolly, I think Mrs got jealous of my knitting skills/lack of knitting skills and decided to up the game 😂

Cam2020 · 16/08/2020 23:40

MrsMad they look amazing though and like great fun to make! Love a bit of crafting!

Love your sock puppets Mrs

pussycatinboots · 17/08/2020 06:38

So this is what you get up to when I fall down an iplayer rabbit hole!
Mrs I didn't know you were so handy with a needle and fred! Grin
I prefer the first one with the big gob and boggle eyes Wink
I nearly watched 27 dresses again but we started to watch series 1 of The Bridge on iplayer. It's very good, even if you have to read the subtitles no sewing
why what a lovey red iron! Not sure what i'd do with it...mantelpiece ornament maybe?

pussycatinboots · 17/08/2020 07:09

Bollocks. The bloody boiler is on the blink. More £££s. 🤬🤬🤬

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2020 07:20

Great sock puppets mrs. I watched 27 Dresses the other day too :)

After a rubbish day yesterday of not even being able to sit up I feel much better today. Still a very tender tummy and feel wrung out but I can sit normally and walk around the house at least. DS is in nursery today so I can have one more day of rest and hopefully tomorrow when I need to take care of him I will be fine.

Will relax on the sofa and start getting everything sorted for us to go to Bluestone on Friday. I am checking the weather forecast there daily and it is constantly improving so I am hoping for a mostly dry weekend :)

Morning!

It's damp here and rained heavily again overnight. I hope it rained at home too!

Boots, I ❤️❤️❤️ The Bridge. Such good characters and acting. Saga is awesome. Can't beat Scandi drama. We have The Killing on Blu Ray. Might be time to re-watch.

The iron is a similar colour to my KitchenAid. Only one of those things gets used in my house! Though DD's shirts will need ironing from September, and DS' from the year after.

Mrs, it's a Rug Doctor one that you hire from Tesco etc.

Work today. Boooo! Though I was convinced it was Monday yesterday, so time will tell what day I end up on today.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/08/2020 07:25

I'm glad you and your arse are feeling better Most!

Boots, what's wrong with it? Will hitting it help?

pussycatinboots · 17/08/2020 07:36

Pilot light has gone out - we can relight it, but once it had briefly heated the hot water it's gone out again. It's the original so 20yrs old so might be a problem for parts which means we'd have to upgrade to a heat-only condensing boiler (a combi isn't powerful enough for 3 bathrooms) and the quotes we got last year were at least 2.5-3k.
