protein?

as long as you're not veggie/vegan...

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 17:46

snap!

WreckTangled · 14/08/2020 17:47

Nah what I don't know won't hurt me doesn't bother me that much!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/08/2020 18:22

as long as you're not veggie/vegan

Ah , I'm vegetarian and it wouldn't bother me too much because an added protein-in-salad isn't a concious choice

And it would be alive ......... Xmas Shock it's only Dead Things I don't eat !

The KitchenAid Tiny Chopper was good value though . I cannot remember the price but everywhere else I looked was £69 .
P&P and 5-7 working days delivery is a but out of synch with other retailers though .
I watch the demonstrations , I wouldn't go into a shop and think "Oh that looks nice" and buy it unseen.
Or have someone demo make up or toiletries . But I can watch avidly on QVC .

Agree their Christmas stock is a but meh now .

The very very best Christmas song has to be "Fairytale of New York" , it was playing while I was in labour with my DS , and it took a few years for me to be able to listen without bawling .
I am fine now , I get the 'hairs on the back of my neck' feeling at the intro still.

I was watching a cookery programme at my Dparents , the Baker was being a bit Nigella-esque with the looks'n'smiles but kept going on about rollling cake into StickyBalls and rolling icing into a Long Sausage

Mrsmadevans · 14/08/2020 18:27

70 If I was spending that money on a Chopper for my kitchen, I'd expect a bigger one.

As it is, I have Ken Wood in my kitchen, who chops and blends quite well for £40 Grin

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 18:42

70 I ordered a cordless Dyson from them about 2 yrs ago...it was last seen lost with Herpes, which is why it takes 5-7 days before your item is missing, presumed lost forever, then you have to phone them and try again 🤦‍♀️

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/08/2020 18:47

I worked in Liverpool city centre for a while between university and getting married. A man in the office was called Ken Wood. Not too bad except his wife was called Theresa. 😂

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 18:55

Could have been worse - her maiden name might have been Green.

The KitchenAid food pro was tiny but I suppose if you only want to prepare tiny amounts it'd do ? I had a teeny food chopper when DS was weaning ( it was designed for baby food but I don't think it did anything different to one of those Food Pro with the extra small bowls )

I had a Kenwood mahoosive Food Pro but there was a gap between the disc and the edge so some things escaped into the bowl in chunks.

The one I have now is a blender+food pro on one unit , and you can only use one at a time .

I did look at reviews that the Kitchen Aid ones are a bit style over substance , though the mixers are still highly prized . (Haven't got one of those either )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/08/2020 19:06

Lost in Transit things on QVC are a pain , they take ages to process . I think you have to wait 10 working days (so 2 weeks IRL) till they'd look.

Luckily only 2 things have ever been lost for me .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 19:17

I ate part of a slug on some fine beans once. (Fascinating Friday Fact)

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 19:20

They've lost (over years) 2 Kipling bags, 1 pair of Sketchers, 1 Dyson cordless, a gold watch (that was flippin' expensive and for my birthday), a set of pans.

I didn't re-order any of it, they get one chance and one chance only to deliver - all with Herpes except the watch which went missing in the warehouseHmm

A former work colleague lost loads - she had a v dodgy delivery guy - one parcel for her and one for him Shock took her about 6 months (and some negotiated WFH) to sus him out.

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 19:21

why why?
you must have seen him to know?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 19:23

Boots I definitely did not notice. I am kind of hoping I just happened to have half a baby slug in my dinner but it seems unlikely.

CrazyBaubles · 14/08/2020 19:24

Wreck 🤢🤮 We have slugs in the house sometimes and they're foul.

Fluffy I thought you'd appreciate the Bruce pic I remain a believer that Die Hard is not a Christmas film

Thank you so much puss, I'm glad you appreciated the pics.

Also - herpes? Typo? 😂

70 I knew someone on here loved Fairytale in New York but couldn't remember who.
I never liked it then it randomly got me about 3 years ago and I love it now - it's even on my festive playlist.

why 🤢🤮

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 19:25

oh dear.

CrazyBaubles · 14/08/2020 19:29

😂😂

Also, talking of kitchen gadgets, MILs DH bought himself a bread maker last week and gave us fresh bread for lunchtime sandwiches. I had to have an extra slice with butter and jam on as it was so nice so now wondering if I should buy a bread maker...

We don't really eat bread in the week so don't buy much anyway - but fresh bread is bound to be cheaper and so much tastier 🤔

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/08/2020 19:29

Crazy those silverfish things make me shudder I can almost cope with slugs.

pussycatinboots · 14/08/2020 19:33

Crazy I tried to get one just before lockdown and Argos sold mine to someone else. fluffy has one and will give you the low down.

MarshmallowManiac · 14/08/2020 19:38

Thanks for the thread Fluffy
Must be half asleep as tried to post on the old thread and you'd all gone.

Thanks for the link Woolly, chose 'Hark the Herald Angels sing' because it reminds me of Midnight mass at Christmas. 'Gabriel's message' because I used to play it on my guitar at school, and 'Silent Night' because it is so Christmassy, but love all of them. [santa]

Enjoy Yorkshire Crazy so jealous for your lovely upcoming trips. Love the Christmas pics too Crazy thank you for finishing the thread in such a spectacular fashion. Flowers
