Go, go, go...

Crazy yes the wards are mental health as well, I love working in this line of work but the phone line stuff is hard-core and we get so tired (I am on annual leave for a few days from Monday). I am certainly pondering the pay drop, it is probably manageable yes.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 01/09/2020 12:06

Woolly lockdown has made things so much worse. So many are coming out with anxiety they did not have when they went in, have become alcoholics, split from their partners etc. The mental health crisis now is worse than the effect of covid almost.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/09/2020 12:37

Love those bedding neros! Might get the tartan one as a autumn winter one rather than Christmas specific :)

Sorry to hear you had a bad shift why Flowers

Back in work today and slogging through six weeks worth of emails. DH informs me that my Rex London delivery has arrived. No sign of Filofax Hmm

pussycatinboots · 01/09/2020 13:11

Neros I love the tartan one.
why if you can afford to do it, do it. It's a job. Your health is more important.

searches for garlic press, cloak and black top hat...twirls moustache

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 01/09/2020 13:20

I am so relieved you have the twirly moustache Boots. Sets the scene beautifully.

pussycatinboots · 01/09/2020 13:38

It's amazing what you can buy from ebay Wink
The cloak is lined in vermillion silk.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 15:56

I love the Scandi one of the duvet covers. I like the tartan too, but it's not quite Christmassy enough! 🎄🎄🎄

We walked about 7 miles today, along part of the Mawddach Trail. We stopped for something to eat at the George III pub, which was nice I preferred the alcohol. DS had a total meltdown over a lost stick and I ended up carrying him for a bit. Thankfully he got over it!

The next time we leave the cottage we'll be heading home.

Afternoon everyone.
First day back at work today, inset days doing courses and setting up classroom, more of the same tomorrow. Kids are back on Thursday, I work in SEN so concerned that their mental health will be in tatters after Lockdown.

Good luck with the job hunt Why I would think that would be full on, extremely stressful but rewarding as well. But think that if you can cope with the drop in pay, it might be better for you to go back to the wards. Smile

Love the duvets Neros

I sit on the floor wrapping Crazy bit mad as it kills my back but really enjoy it as we have an evening when we try to blast it out of course accompanied by Mince Pies, Baileys and Christmas music [santa]

pussycatinboots · 01/09/2020 17:45

We need shed paint, so off to B&Q tomorrow. Will get some compost for the rest of the bulbs. I've planted £16 worth and some of last years, but have 3 troughs and half a dozen pots still to fill. I love spring Daffodil Grin
Firefly have you collected seeds from your cosmos? I thought I'd give it a go, so have a few heap in a spare mug in the garage. I guess we'll find out next summer if it works! Grin I've got another mug with white cornflower seeds and will try them too.
fluffy poor stick, it will be so lonely. Did you find some overpriced sweets? I take it you still don't have a cross stitch.

why especially for you:
Hubble bubble toil and trouble,
Yummy garlic-pressed Elf and tomato pasta sauce...
I never claimed to be a poet! Grin

FireflyGirl · 01/09/2020 18:26

boots I have left them to self-seed. I have a feeling I won't be able to get much gardening done next year!

Had to go for an urgent growth scan this afternoon after 'excessive growth' from my last midwife appointment. Baby is doing well, measuring 72nd centile so is apparently 4lb4 already!! I'm not due until 2 months tomorrow, and she's supposed to gain 1/2lb a week from now on!!

Thankfully they have concluded it's nothing to worry about, just a combination of big baby and short mum.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 18:28

My cosmos hadn't even flowered last time I was at the allotment. I may have missed it, knowing my luck! I'll leave mine to self-seed in situ, however. I'll take the sunflower heads and save some seeds but tie the others to the shed to feed the birds!

No cross stitch. I have a hoop though! 😂😂 Never mind. My eyes are rested!

No overpriced sweets, Boots. I bought over-priced pub chips instead. 🙈😂

Firefly, DD was 9lb 7oz. Elephantine child! 🙈

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 01/09/2020 18:54

Fire they predicted my dd would be over 10lb. I'm normally a size 10 and 5"1 so would have been massive for me. In the end she was a healthy 7lb 15oz.

I think that I'm going to go for the tartan duvet as a general winter one and then get another that's specially for Christmas.

I've just read in Insta that Nigella is filming her Christmas special. Every year I say that I'll do the wet brine of the turkey but I've never done it. This year!

pussycatinboots · 01/09/2020 19:02

Nero Excellent news about Nigella - DH is very happy Grin I do like the tartan one, but I'll need something more purple to fit with the throw and curtains.

It's only some of the cosmos that's flowered and died off, the rest is still going strong. I thought I'd save the seeds as the pots will be used for bulbs, then re-seeded next spring once the daffs etc are over.

MarshmallowManiac · 01/09/2020 19:20

What bulbs are you planting Boots?

Sounds like you could be similar to my DD2 who was 8 and 1/2 pounds Firefly. Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/09/2020 20:09

Have you Glitterball fans seen the first three Strictly contestants have been announced? I've only heard of Caroline Quentin

Firefly I went up a pound or so per baby. Good job I stopped at 3 as DS was over 9 and a half pounds.

We bought a couple of foxglove plants from the garden centre sale. The bees are going bonkers for them.

Knitting, wine and the cricket followed by either LoD or the last two episodes of Staged on iplayer. DD1 survived her training day and came home and cooked dinner. She's a Star

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 20:16

I went down to DS, who was only 7lbs 1oz (if he'd gone to 40 weeks like DD, he'd have been 8.5lbs). But you risk a low birthweight with a small gap. As I build them big, that's not exactly low!

LoD, Woolly, obvs!

I'm excited about Strictly!

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/09/2020 20:25

I only know Caroline Quentin too.

I had lots of growth scans as my bump was tiny. DS came out at 7lb 11oz. I think it was because I have a long torso he went up rather than out. Back then I also had abs of steel, oh the good old days Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 20:37

My abs were ripped apart by DD. I'm destroyed now!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/09/2020 20:40

I'm baaaaack! We got home about an hour ago, so tired. Had a good time though.

Dd was estimated 7lb on my growth scan the day before she was born 8lb. My abs are pretty solid but with an inch gap between them Hmm ffs.

I saw Caroline Quentin at the local theatre the year before last and she was really good.

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/09/2020 20:40

I had no abs to speak of at any time. I did have a very scary Health Visitor so I do have a pelvic floor of steel. Lowers tone yet again

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 20:42

As long as you don't also have a sideline in emulating Sticky Vicky in Benidorm (I think that's the name; I'm NOT Googling), then a solid pelvic floor is something to be proud of!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 01/09/2020 20:45

🤮 flashbacks to the Sky programme aaages ago about the Spanish nightclubs. Sticky Vicky and that fella who was very flexible.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2020 20:52

Oh yes. Him! 🙈🤮🙈🤮🙈

OP posts:
MarshmallowManiac · 01/09/2020 21:25

My DD1 started at 6lb 1 and the others got bigger up until 8lb 6 Smile

Think that Max George is in the Wanted.
