@CrazyBaubles, PM me your address and I'll send you some chilli jam!

puss bedding and stuff is fine. I also have my crocheted colours Christmas lights garland up in the spare room to cheer me up while I'm working but if I said I wanted the actual tree up, DH would think I'd lost the plot!

Fluffy I have PM'd you. If you really don't mind I'd really appreciate some chilli jam 😊

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/08/2020 00:08

I have ordered one of DD presents ( yes I know , it;s still August Xmas Grin )

A weighted blanket .
I have read the Sciencey Molecules Research scarily tech theories behind them. It seems the weight acts as a relaxant to aid sleep .

Filled with tiny glass beads .

She'll either love it , or she'll be "Mother , what the actual Jeff are you on?" ?

I'll let her have it early , ideal for October I think when the weather turns and she'll be needing a good sleep for University .

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 30/08/2020 06:25

Ooh love Keeper's Pond crazy

Today we are going to the Wetlands and then having lunch at the Farmers Arms in Goldcliff. Tomorrow we have tickets booked for Tintern Abbey. Making the most of the last couple of days of the holidays.

WreckTangled · 30/08/2020 06:50

I think my dc would like weighted blankets they're pricey though.

We're leaving for bath in an hour or so and I'm still in bed Grin

Morning!

I've not looked out of the window yet for the weather. But we're on a steam train today so it's not too important!

We're at Caernarfon Castle tomorrow, so dry would be good!

I'm in the "this 10.5 tog duvet is too heavy" camp, so weighted blankets sound like hell on earth to me. maybe I'm the weird one Grin The thought of being pinned down on the bed by a blanket really doesn't appeal.
I'm procrastinating - I need to clean the kitchen but hate doing it, so am trying to put it off. DH has said he'll clean the oven door - I'm not allowed to touch it Grin after last time...

CrazyBaubles · 30/08/2020 08:08

70 my mum has a weighted blanket and she loves it. She's an anxious person in general and has always been a rubbish sleeper so her dr mentioned it and df bought her one for Christmas a few years ago. She loves it.

Have a lovely time today most

Wreck I'm assuming you're out of bed now? Grin

Not sure about the weather where you are Fluffy but I have my fingers crossed for dry weather here. DH is mumbling about doing a boot sale to try and shift some of the stuff we've sorted out during lockdown....

puss if you procrastinate for long enough, will your DH end up cleaning the whole kitchen? Mine does so I use that to my advantage every now and again 😂

I'm still led in bed with ddog and DH snoring away. I need to get up and chuck the last of my washing on the line but I'm being lazy. I'm doing some online shopping instead - I have to find a birthday present for a friends 4 year old son and the only things I know he likes are cars and Pac-Man....

WreckTangled · 30/08/2020 08:21

I've got the wrong date. I don't have a hotel tonight and don't have longleat tomorrow. I'm just a day ahead and everything is shit

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 08:50

Where are you tonight then, Wreck?!

It's sunny here, Crazy. The car looked steamed up this morning, so I think it was pretty cold overnight!

Boots, leave your DH to do the lot! I forgot to clean our kitchen before we left (I managed the bathroom), so I'll do it when we're back!

70 my son has a weighted blanket and has for a few years. He really likes it. He could do with a new one really mind but it does the job at the moment still.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 10:02

@whydoesitalwayshappentome, there was a bargain one on the bargain thread. Hopefully it comes back available (it was £22).

Morning :)
I've been reading and following but not had a huge amount to post about recently. Those cakes and chili jam look amazing.

From now until Christmas always goes so fast for me, I work in a school and it feels like it zips by. Great but it means my grand ideas for Christmas prep never happen as much as I like.

I'm making some strawberry gin currently that I'll decant into little bottles, or keep to have at Christmas with the family. Then I'll use the strawberries to make a jam. I'd like to make chutney this year, unfortunately we don't home grow anything so no gluts of produce to cook up.

We decorated our living room a few months ago, and I'm now wondering if our red and gold tree we usually get will actually work in there! Maybe I need to change the decorations and buy more

I bought a few stationary bits from a Sainsbury's clearance stand which will be great for ds5 stocking.

Also adding to my food shop each week with store cupboard bits. I say I'll do this every year and never have!

ConstantlyCooking · 30/08/2020 10:52

Snow gin-infused strawberry jam sounds amazing! I use the fruit from Christmas vodka in mulled wine.
I made cranberry vodka as well last year which looked v festive.
70 I am tempted by the weighted blankets. I like the weight of a duvet and even in the summer, I have to have a duvet even if I need to have my feet poking out and a fan on to stay cool. DD is the same but DH thinks I'm strange.
Hope all those travelling have great days!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 10:57

We tend to keep the 4.5 tog duvet all year. Constantly, I'm like you and need the weight of a duvet all year. Sometimes we think it's cold enough to warrant the thicker duvet, but I then die from heat exhaustion after one night and change our minds!

Fluffy £22 is an ace price.

NerosFiddle · 30/08/2020 11:21

Morning.

It's got the weighted blanket offer. It came yesterday and the box is massive. The delivery driver put it in the shed and I can't lift it out.

NerosFiddle · 30/08/2020 11:34

Forgot to say. But the combination of a hot shower, ibuprofen gel, paracetamol and a hot water bottle to my back meant I slept all night. Bit stiff now but I'll work it out.

I'm off to see if the range has their Christmas stuff out yet and will report back.

MarshmallowManiac · 30/08/2020 12:08

Afternoon everyone.
We were promised sunshine but it looks fairly blustery here, and ready to rain. Going to town to get some more uni stuff, and office chair for DS purse's crying is getting louder We are hoping to go to the coast today but the weather doesn't look the best. Smile

Think my DD would love a weighted blanket, are they really expensive 70

Enjoy the Wetlands Most

Enjoy Wales Fluffy, chilli jam looks yum Smile

Have fun in Bristol Wreck

Strawberry gin sounds fabulous Snow, trying to add a few bits each week too. Smile

Love Cranberry pate Constantly Lidl only sell at Christmas Sad so imagine I would love Cranberry Vodka, how do you make it please?

Boots think a weighted blanket would be much too hot for me too, at the moment we only have on a sheet and light blanket.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/08/2020 12:51

I ordered mine from QVC , I ploughed through Amazon, very mixed reviews and prices , some looked no more than a thick puffy throw TBH .
Costco have one ( about £55 ish)

I use a 4.5 duvet all year and just use a soft duvet cover+fitted sheet in winter , I would combust in a weighed blanket !
DD is the one who has fleece bedding from Hallowe'en Xmas Grin

IIRC the QVC bigger size 15lb weight was £79 but I got 3 x Easy Pay so cost split . And there's a 60 day Money Back Guarentee takes us to the first week November ........ok she'll probably have her blanket very early to try it out Xmas Grin

Glad you're improving Nero pains like that can make you feel actually sick , the searing sharp pain. Heat and topical gel and light movement .
I had sciatica in my left buttock once , after a long drive I was fine , next day went to put the bins out and aargh it was like someone had stabbed me with a skewer Xmas Shock
Walking improved it , sitting was worse pain. It gradually wore off but Oh! the pain .

I'm rustling up some lentil soup, cooking Sunday Dinner , doing washing and posting on MN .
Going to put a conditioning mask on my hair in a bit and walk about with a little clingfilm hat on
Multi-Tasker !

ConstantlyCooking · 30/08/2020 13:28

MM i just added dried cranberries to vodka and left to infuse. It is a beautiful colour.
