Catching up...
Crazy No, he didn't - I was moving stuff at 8ish, by 8.45 it had been wiped, hoovered and steam mopped.
Big living room curtains have been washed n dried (nearly) one is up, t'other is in the dryer.
Roast dinner cooked, eaten and washed up.
F1 and Touring Cars on at the same time, how very dare they!!

MarshmallowManiac · 30/08/2020 14:52

Thanks 70 that's not too bad, was expecting over a hundred. Smile

Been into Wilko/Argos/the Range/B&M for Uni stuff and stockings now purse has officially left the building Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 17:46

Boots, we washed our lounge curtains while I was furloughed. They'd only been up 5 years! Blush We also did the dining room ones which were at least 5.5 years since having a wash. 🙈😂

As I forgot my cross stitch, I wanted to buy another today, but the Craft Cymru shop was closed. I got a hoop in Wilko, so will try in Caernarfon tomorrow. I only need a small one to tide me over!

I also had to buy an EE PAYG SIM so I actually have some signal in the cottage! 😂 Loitering near a window was tiresome.

OP posts:
MarshmallowManiac · 30/08/2020 18:10

Thanks must try that Constantly

pussycatinboots · 30/08/2020 18:11

Ah, the joys of North Wales holidays - I could only get a signal on the sea wall in front of the cottage, that was with Orange (so was a while back).
Good luck with the cross stitch search. Not sure it's a big thing in Caernarfon.

I made the mistake of washing DH living room curtains just before we moved house (he'd bought them about 5yrs earlier, before I acquired him) they were mahoosive and really heavy and killed the washing machine 🤦‍♀️ If you want them, they're in a box in the garage 😉 I chucked the frilly thing that covered the rail 🤐

There's a Morrisons in Caernarfon - you can top up your PAYG there 🤣🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 18:32

It wasn't a bad deal. I got 8GB for £10, plus 97p for the SIM! If I cancel within 14 days I'll get a refund on unused credit.

Orange does date it (they've been EE for ages)!

Hopefully someone will have some form of cross stitch. I'm bored of talking to DH. 😂😂

Fail on killing the washer! Bloody curtains. I once shrank the lining of a massive - but light - pair. Which is why we have had the lounge curtains for 5 years!

It's PI breakfast tomorrow, so up and at 'em to get there on time!

Evening everyone Smile
Have been to MumBob came home, done shopping, had a nap and watched telly and been booking FLU jab appts online. God l have been ages , it seems Boots are not going to do them in the local one for my Mum but l had to go through the motions to find out Hmm
Have booked them now though Smile
Been lovely weather here today, Dh is cooking us tea and we are looking forward to catching STRIKE later ! Yay!

Mrsmadevans · 30/08/2020 19:00

Sounds like you are having a great time Fluffy
l would love a PI BREKKIE Grin
Can't remember washing the curtains ever ShockBlush
I just didn't think l needed to because we never close them except for the very hot days. No wood fire or gas fire in here .
Oh dear l feel a right stinky bum now Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 19:01

I booked a flu jab too, Mrs. I'm having it at Boots on 27 Sept. I can claim it back via a work healthcare refund system, so that's ok!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 30/08/2020 19:01

Flu Jabs? Online?

pussycatinboots · 30/08/2020 19:10

OK. so our (multi practice and understaffed) GPs only do repeat meds online. everything else has stopped, no messages, no contact at all. all thru the phone (which they never answered before covid) how very useful.🤦‍♀️
Next time DH goes to collect his meds from the pharmacy I'll get him to call in and ask.

pussycatinboots · 30/08/2020 19:12

Mrs have you a Morrisons handy? Try one of their "Big Breakfasts", they're £6 but you won't need anything else that day 😉

fluffy I might ask at Sains pharmacy next time I'm in.

Mrsmadevans · 30/08/2020 19:17

Good for you Fluffy . Got to be done , l can't afford to get the Flu on top of looking after the PR of them and the CV risk might be really amped up again . Oh l am a cheery bunny Grin
Boot I never bother with the surgery , l always go to Boots or LLOYDS pharmacy and book online. You can pick you own day & time and where you want the jab done and it is all on the NHS unless you don't qualify. I qualify for it because of being a carer for Mum , Dh does because of his Afib, although l think the GOVT want everyone over 50 to have the seasonal flu jab free there is talk because of the risk to the NHS with the COVID Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2020 19:18

Boots, if you qualify for a free flu jab you can still have it at Boots, but not pay. Look on their website and see if you can book.

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 30/08/2020 19:18

l do have a Morrisons handy Boot Grin
I may stray there over the coming days Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 30/08/2020 19:23

Have to go to Morrisons at some point tomorrow, they are the only place near that I can buy Duck and Orange pate, which is my staple for lunch at work Grin

WreckTangled · 30/08/2020 19:31

I usually get my flu jab at work but can also get it at my drs or any pharmacy. Spoilt for choice Grin

NerosFiddle · 30/08/2020 20:18

I've booked my flu jag with boots on Wednesday 23rd. It was the earliest they had available. I can get it done in my gp but they don't do it until the end of Oct and I'm not waiting that long.

Went to the range today and they were just starting to put out their Christmas stick. They had their craft stuff out but nothing really else.

Mrsmadevans · 30/08/2020 20:25

Ohh l remember now, last year we had a convo about the Flu 'jag' Nero

BiddyPop · 30/08/2020 20:43

I'll be getting my flu jag in about 3-4 weeks too, I go to nurse at the GP.

Today I spent time cleaning drains, mending, and changing summer to mid-weight duvets (as it's got a lot more chilly this week!). And I finished my caravan XStitch. We all went for a bike ride this afternoon after DH was chauffeur for DD to and from her hockey match. Back to school tomorrow so an air of excitement. DH has done the ironing for the 1st time in months (it didn't need to be done, not that he had left it to me). Dd has been sorting books and sports uniform, but not even tried on her skirt as she has PE or sports science 4 days, and can't change in school now so sports uniform it shall be! 5th day is the half day Wednesday and she has sport all afternoon. We'll hear more definite info tomorrow.

FireflyGirl · 30/08/2020 20:46

I remember the flu jab convos too. Particularly, where I said DH would get his through work, DS through school, and I wouldn't bother because I've only ever had flu once.

2020 me is laughing mirthlessly at the naivety of 2019 me...

I booked mine with Boots as soon as the slots opened, for 2 weeks on Saturday. I imagine my GP will invite me to their clinic, but I don't know when they will run it, and it might even be after I've had the baby!! I don't think the flu antibodies pass on like the whooping cough ones, but I'm hoping to breastfeed so should be able to pass on antibodies that way, and at least the rest of us will be vaccinated. Apparently there's this thing called herd immunity...

Ah yes the great "jab" "jag" debate of '19. Such innocent times.

Dh and I were just talking about the worst jobs to have to do. For me it's ironing for him it's emptying the dishwasher or making sandwiches.

BiddyPop · 30/08/2020 22:09

DH mentioned tonight, for the 2nd time in 2 days, about some people at work talking about Halloween fireworks already having started and that lots will want to put Christmas lights up from October to cheer things up (and that this was her plan in her house). I suspect, just possibly, that DH may well want to do this in our house🎅🏼 (even though he usually thinks I am too early putting them up on the 2nd/3rd weekend of December!!!🙄)

NoWordForFluffy · 31/08/2020 06:37

Morning!

Biddy, your DH has definitely been affected by the pandemic! But you'll take it, ha ha. Xmas Grin

It's meant to be dry here again, thankfully. I need to get up soon so we can get out of the house before 8!
