Afternoon.

Went out with my friend for breakfast this morning. 3 fry ups, a tea and 2 juice was £7. Couldn't beat it with stick!

I'm a leftie and so awkward and doing some stuff. Instead of cutting meat I have a tendency to stab a tear it.

Dh threw out my left handed tin opener because the one time he went to open something he couldn't get it to work. I wonder why 🧐.

Enjoy your dinner Fluffy.

NerosFiddle · 24/08/2020 17:19

Wreck can you get breakfast delivered?

Crazy I must go in search of the notebooks. Not that I actually need anymore but still.

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 17:32

Good afternoon everyone Smile
went to Cwmbran to do a little shopping , bought myself a bit of shoppio not a lot though. Was not feeling the buying today. Rudolph day tomorrow not thought of anything to do though. Popped in to see NDN , he's been home 2 weeks from hospital so we booted ourselves up in PPE, we have not been in to see him for 20 weeks . He was fine a bit confused but fine Smile
Nero Primarni had some gorgeous notebooks in, copper they were with pen to match Grin If l needed a notebook l would have bought them Grin

WreckTangled · 24/08/2020 17:42

Crazy my appointment is at 6:30! I love those shoes.

Neros no you can't in cheap premier inns Grin

CrazyBaubles · 24/08/2020 17:53

Neros I'm a bit of bugger for collecting notebooks, not helped by FIL knowing this as he buys me one every Christmas but he gets ones that are too nice to use IYSWIM 😂

MrsMad it was Cwmbran I went to - maybe we were there at the same time, although I only went to Matalan and the card shop.

That's late Wreck - is it just a cut you're having?
And I love the shoes too, I've had my eye on similar ones all summer but was being tight. Couldn't leave them there for £4.50 though. I think they'll alter my jeans and smart T-shirt from causal to work-casual as I have been wearing Vans with Hawaiian flowers on 😂

Just in the car on the way out now & looking forward to it...

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 17:57

Lovely shoes Crazy Smile

WreckTangled · 24/08/2020 17:57

Well when I booked it I didn't know dh would be having the week off work so had to book something where he could look after ds. Just a cut and blow dry, dd too. It's so expensive though mine will be £39! This is why I only get my hair cut once a year at the most.

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 18:01

I was there at 10 30 Crazy l didn't go to Matalan Grin
Poundland, WHSMITHS to check out the Marks SIMPLY FOOD Part it looked good to be fair Smile .Primark, Home Bargains & Lidl. Poor HOF covered in sheeting & scaffolding l wish they would put it out of it's misery Sad

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 18:04

Have a look at this lady on YT if you are bored, want a craft fix, she's smashing , she does floral arrangments .

pussycatinboots · 24/08/2020 18:06

Nero you know what to buy him for Christmas Wink a leftie tin opener Grin (they turn anticlockwise don't they?) My mate from work was also a leftie - and no-one could work out whether it was her or my handwriting Grin
Wreck could you find a cafe/bakery near the hotel? or smuggle in a big bag of croissants and some naice jam.

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 18:07

I like her she is down to earth and she forgets things like l do Grin

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 18:13

She uses napkns to make decoupahe on poundland led candles and they are lovely Smile

WreckTangled · 24/08/2020 18:23

No we've paid for breakfast and love the breakfast there!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/08/2020 18:44

Hi all :)

Back from Bluestone and facing a mountain of washing Sad Glad to be home though.

Can't believe it is the last week of the summer holidays and that the Holiday Grand Plan starts next Monday. Anyone doing it?

WreckTangled · 24/08/2020 18:50

Most my dc aren't back at school until 7th.

Hairdresser is running half an hour late so dd and I are sitting in the car eating snacks

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/08/2020 18:51

Yes DS doesn't start until the 8th but I work in a school and have to be back on the 1st Sad

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 19:07

Nooo that isn't fair Most !
Are we going to have a hairdo pic please Wreck ? I bet it will be lovely Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/08/2020 19:14

Next week is the last Bank Holiday ( I don't think all the UK has it . My DParent had BH Monday in early Aug)

DH and I have a couple of days booked in December when we were planning on going to a Christmas market but it was cancelled Xmas Sad so we might have to carry on our usual Tradition of a shopping day , usually the last Friday in November .
No idea though what it's going to look like Out There in November though.

Rudolph Day tomorrow

I plan to spend the long Bank Holiday (if this all goes to plan)

Haircut
Shopping -after haircut , might find somewhere for lunch ?
Garden tidy
Sort out autumn clothes that are stored on the loft ,

Decide what I am definately Definately not going to buy or bake for Christmas . What doesn't get eaten ( Christmas Cake and Puddings)
Don't buy Sainsbury marzipan, it was like Play-doh. It is easy enought to make and delicious (need more Amarrretto though)

Costco trip ( biir early for their Christmas stock though)

Wrangle my off spring into University Mode ( DS going into Yr3 , DD starting from beginning ) . She'll decide that she needs new shoes/bag/coat once we sort things in storage .

NoWordForFluffy · 24/08/2020 19:18

I thought we went back on 7th, but it's 3rd, so we have to cut our holiday short. Sad I'm beginning to think they changed it due to Covid stuff and I went by the old dates. Sigh.

Our hair is £20 for the 3 of us (I do DH's) as she comes to the house.

Most, sounds like you had an ace time!

Dinner was good (no steaks in stock though, annoyingly). It came to about £16, which was two courses for the kids, mains for us and 5 drinks. Not bad!

ConstantlyCooking · 24/08/2020 20:18

I was back at school properly today (as opposed to a relaxed 10 to 4 which I did last week). The children are back on Thursday so it's heads down until the October half term. It was a shock to the system after wfh since March!

ConstantlyCooking · 24/08/2020 20:19

Love the shoes crazy. I always look for nice cheap shoes for the summer because, however much you spend, they end up smelling after a term!

WreckTangled · 24/08/2020 21:10

Our term doesn't officially start until the 3rd, that's when I'm back to work Sad

The prices on the website were wrong as it was only £39 for both of us which is a bargain. Fluffy round here the ones who come to your home are just as expensive as the salon ones. My mum had hers done at home today (just a cut) and it was £40!

Mrsmadevans · 24/08/2020 22:16

Mum has a blow dry for 20 at home .l thought it was pretty good tbf Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/08/2020 22:38

DD1 and I paid £14 total last week for our wet cuts. I pay £35 for a cut, colour and blow dry. I love my hairdresser.

CrazyBaubles · 24/08/2020 22:59

Wreck this is why I count my lucky stars that I was my aunties model when she was training to be a hairdresser - she cuts my hair for free now 😂

MrsMad HoF is so sad in town isn't it - but what annoys me more is the clock that hasn't worked for years!

Welcome back most. If it helps I've only just reached the bottom of our washing basket after holiday. It's taken 8 days.

I'll look at the Holiday Grand Plan and follow it as best I can.

Also, similar school story here. DH is back on 1st but they are staggering the return so some kids aren't back until 10th.

That's a nice BH plan 70. You're very organised - I have nothing planned.

That's annoying about the holiday Fluffy

I can't believe the food bargains - my dad paid for mine and DHs meal (no idea why, he beat me to the til). 4 starters, 4 mains, 3 sauces (3 of us had steak), 2 side dishes and a drink = £55!

Constantly that's why I was being tight about the shoes - they're unlikely to last too long so didn't want to spend much.

We bumped into an old family friend at the pub so he joined us with his wife. It turned into a really lovely evening, and I've had a few drinks. I need to get to bed - work tomorrow 😳🥱
