Here we go. We're still a chatty bunch. We're going to knock any previous thread count into a cocked hat!

Go, go, go...

I leave you all alone for a few hours and you are all stiffing chickens with sausages. Sounds a bit Allo Allo to me.

Morning!

We're rattling our way down to 100 (Mr Firefly's birthday!).

I think I may need to buy a boat today. We've had so much rain (loads since getting home but also before we got back too). At least I didn't need to water the allotment this morning!

I forgot to take my cross stitch to the Lakes with me. I would've been onto the second half by now! Bugger.

Why, I'm surprised it's stood the test of time! Many things haven't.

Good moaning Grin
It's a lovely day here (if you're a duck) and looks set in for the day - if anything, it's getting heavier!
We've got 3 episodes of the Bridge left to watch, so that might be this afternoon taken care of.
fluffy it won't do any harm having a break from your pic - it gives your eyes a rest for a day or two.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2020 08:09

We let rainwater fill a bucket as it pours from the outhouse roof (plus we have two stray Sainsbury’s delivery crates out there too!). It was in the wrong place when we got back, so was corrected. It's already almost-full.

I'm not even going out to see how my chillies are doing. It can wait!

Sunny here today. Had a shower in the early hours but that's it.

Gosh lots of rain fluffy. Nice and sunny here!

DS is in nursery so I am binge watching Shakespeare and Hathaway and cross stitching. Determined to get well for our holiday on Friday.

A few of the Christmas gifts I bought yesterday have already been dispatched :)

Morning,
Thanks for those stocking suggestions.

I think we are going to invite people to ours this year. We did last year and thoroughly loved it. I just worry about further restrictions on households etc.

I got my Christmas planner out at the weekend, starting to get really excited.

I found a recipe for some strawberry gin jam so thinking of making up some jars as gifts.

CrazyBaubles · 18/08/2020 12:51

@NoWordForFluffy

That advert is fucking dire, Crazy!
Not sure if that was deliberate but I had to google and the girl is Danni Dyer 😂
CrazyBaubles · 18/08/2020 12:55

Finally taking a work break now. I'm going to have some of DHs homemade soup 😋

Weather is coming out quite nice now, after raining all morning.

Most & Fluffy how do you cross stitch so fast? By the time I finished work yesterday, had a breather, had tea, walked the dog etc I managed about an hour - the patch of Color I added was tiny. You 2 seem to be flying through them!

Day 2 of new job is just as intense but everyone seems lovely and I feel a bit better about it today thank god!

pussycatinboots · 18/08/2020 14:50

Crazy I wondered the same about the rapid rate of stitching! Lucky we don't do a "stitch-along" of the same kit, I'd be sooo far behind those two!

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2020 15:15

Most is way faster than me! 😂😂

I'm glad you're enjoying the job, Crazy. Oh, and my pun wasn't deliberate I considered claiming it was though.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 18/08/2020 15:45

I have only been his fast as it has been the summer holidays and DS has been going to nursery 2 days a week and I have spent the time cross stitching rather than being productive Grin My speed will slow dramatically come September!

MarshmallowManiac · 18/08/2020 15:46

Afternoon everyone.
Sunny here today, just came back from town where I had coffee with old friend, who I've not seen since before Lockdown. Went to Morrisons on way home to search for Jam sugar which they never had made me laugh as when I was walking up to the baking area 'Sugar, Sugar' was blasting out of the speakers! Grin

Lovely cross stitches ladies Smile You're on the ball Most

Sounds good Snowbeau I would love to gift the jam but can never find any jam sugar. Sad Any ideas where I could find some please? Smile

sideorderofchips · 18/08/2020 15:54

Your supermarket would be the usual bet.

MarshmallowManiac · 18/08/2020 16:02

Thanks Chips have tried Sainsburys, Tesco, and Morrisons and no luck yet Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 18/08/2020 16:05

Exactly what I'd have said!

I got jam sugar a couple of weeks ago in Asda.

I've been up since just before 3 😴🤢 my shoulder is still giving me gip - it's mostly fine during the day but sore when I lie down.

My Lakeland order arrived today - parchment liners for my 1lb loaf tins and some mini lidded pudding basins for Christmas puddings.

MarshmallowManiac · 18/08/2020 17:02

I know Fluffy you would think they would stock it wouldn't you Grin

Hope you shoulder is improving Woolly have dislocated both of mine so know how terrible it is. Maybe put a pillow under it when you sleep, it sometimes helps me so you can't jolt it in your sleep.Smile Going to try Asda tonight pray for me ladies Grin

WreckTangled · 18/08/2020 17:40

Afternoon. Evening? Anyway. We went to the garden centre this morning for a coffee with my mum and it chucked it down. The garden centre roof leaks so badly we were getting wet. Dh is cooking tonight because we're having steak and the dc have been fairly well behaved. Tomorrow looks like awful rain, I got a cool 'science' cake mix so we will do that probably.

sideorderofchips · 18/08/2020 17:57

God the amount of injuries I've done in the last 5 years

Dislocated both shoulders. Had surgery to repair one. Broken two fingers. One chemical burn, autoimmune thyroid, numerous chest infections, norwalk, and a grade 3 sprained ankle.

Oh and one broken finger was split knuckle to knuckle to had to have screws. So did the ankle.

MarshmallowManiac · 18/08/2020 18:19

Wreck cake sounds fab.

OMG Chips you sound like me, but have you dislocated both shoulders at once?? Grin
