Once again I really am sorry for starting this thread, I can ask for it to be deleted if anyone would prefer? I really don’t mind and won’t take offense.

Thought that said 'mooning cookie jar' at first Reastie Blush

Wonder if that would have been less controversial...

Shitfuckoh · 22/07/2020 11:37

I haven't had chance to catch up on the thread but just in case it hasn't been posted this is a fantastic price at £16.74 for the Sylvanian creamy Gelato

www.amazon.co.uk/Sylvanian-Families-Town-Creamy-Gelato/dp/B0797ZN7KV/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&s=kids&keywords=gelato+shop&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1595414152&sr=1-1

Shitfuckoh · 22/07/2020 11:42

Oh no. I so should have read the thread first shouldn't I.
This is... awkward

BadgerFace · 22/07/2020 11:45

@SodOffCovid There were lovely Usborne jigsaw/book combos for under £5 on Amazon which I bought a few different ones of. I’ve had another look and most seem to be out of stock now or back up in price but the farm version is still a bargain... (photo attached)

DD1 was given the unicorn one a few years ago and the jigsaws are lovely quality.

Email just through Save25 for 25% off Holland and Barrett ends midnight.

Not chridtmassy I know but may help

Lockdownseperation · 22/07/2020 11:48

@Shitfuckoh it’s the same price in Argos and John Lewis. Normally retails at about £25.

I’m itching to start shopping but I’m holding off.

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 11:54

Icedaisy many congratulations, what fabulous news Flowers

Many congratulations to FilthyforFirth also, fantastic times ahead Flowers It will be lovely to buy your baby some lovely gifts to keep. Smile

FilthyforFirth · 22/07/2020 11:56

I both dont think anyone is being cliquy nor do I think you've done anything wrong @PinkDaydreams. I have been on the christmas boards for 3 years now and I have always found it a very friendly place, unlike literally anywhere else on mn!

I can see why Chips perhaps feels a bit put out and I would fully expect @Reastie to take over 'officially' come September. It is a lovely service that @sideorderofchips provides throughout the year!

I dont think that makes me cliquy but so be it if it does!

FilthyforFirth · 22/07/2020 11:59

Thank you @marshmallowmaniac and @EvilHerbivore! Suffering from HG, had a mega holiday cancelled (havent we all) and DH has sadly been made redundant so has been an utterly horrific year so far. Christmas is what keeps me going!

I am excited to be completing my family this year and looking forward to an addition in our traditional in front of the tree photo!

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 12:04

You're welcome Filthy, sorry to hear that you have been unwell, had holiday cancelled (like me), and that your DH has been made redundant. Hope he gets another job really soon. Yes thoughts of Christmas really cheers me up too Smile

Reastie · 22/07/2020 12:06

Oh @FilthyforFirth poor you. I had hg, worst 9 months x2 of my life let alone everything else you have going on

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 12:07

@Reastie

Hello again. I always see the spirit of this thread very much in the Christmas spirit of kindness and generosity, good will to all mners and a welcoming safe space (unless you mention a mooing cookie jar 🤣).

We have found thread traditions over the years and for continuity and respect of this the OP tends to be the same, but I’d hate anyone to feel excluded or berated, and would like to feel anyone can join in if they want.

Or affiliate links! 🙈😂
Shitfuckoh · 22/07/2020 12:08

@Lockdownseperation thank you. I have boys so wasn't sure, just went off the RRP down to what it is now, not that much of a bargain then!
I've noticed recently Amazon seem to 'inflate' the RRP on quite a few things. They've done it with a 'preorder' of a toy I know one of mine will want. They reckon RRP is over £140, yet it's not been released yet and Smyths have the full price as £54.99 Shock

sorryiasked · 22/07/2020 12:11

@PinkDaydreams depending on how much you think you might save on student discount codes, it nay be possible to buy a student card for £16.49.

OhioOhioOhio · 22/07/2020 12:14

Does anyone remember the name of the new book people website?

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 12:14

@OhioOhioOhio, I've used Lowplex. Similar prices (though without additional discounts on top).

OhioOhioOhio · 22/07/2020 12:17

Thanks, I'll go and look.

OhioOhioOhio · 22/07/2020 12:20

Lowplex looks fantastic, thank you.

Isadora2007 · 22/07/2020 12:21

@icedaisy your story brought a wee lump to my throat. What a wonderful lockdown surprise. Of course the new baby “needs” a gift- grapat baby nins are adorable and on my list to buy for bump grand baby due in 2021! 😂

SomeFolksA · 22/07/2020 12:26

We’ll this thread has gone from lovely and friendly bargain hunting to mean spirited quickly. I’ve been on these threads for years under various names.

I think we can all agree Reastie puts in a lot of effort for the main Xmas bargain threads. Lots of time spend making helpful links to one off and reoccurring bargains in title posts etc. We are all very grateful for that.

These rest of year bargain threads are great too. Lots of helpful bargains. I didn’t see any “ownership” by Chips though. Poor Pink was just trying to keep us flowing given the other thread was full. I don’t think any response other than “thanks for new thread” was necessary from anyone. Very mean spirited, possessive and cliquey imo.

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 12:29

These seems to be good

TakeMeToYourLiar · 22/07/2020 12:35

Thanks for Argos tips.

That's all Nieces and nephews sorted now.

I'm also due at Xmas so wanted to get the kids sorted

MarshmallowManiac · 22/07/2020 12:43

Many congratulations TakeMe

icedaisy · 22/07/2020 12:47

Ah thanks all. Lots of thread babies, many congratulations.

Oh yes will definitely be getting some bits. Just anxious about Dd as well. Will be a section so first time leaving her, plus disruption of Christmas. Lots going on for her.

Mum likes to make a stocking so she will do that. Will get Xmas baby grow and look at some of the links suggested thank you.
