It feels strange not having @sideorderofchips ushering us in with the usual welcome and links.
Can we please let her do her magic when this one is full and we are ready to get into the first real thread? Or maybe we could do one for going back to school even if this one isn't full?

Reastie · 22/07/2020 07:05

Hello everyone!

Sorry I missed last thread closing, thank you pinkdaydreams for sorting out a new one in lieu of one being there.

I need to sort out my Christmas present stash so that I can work out what I need to buy. I’d really like to be mostly sorted by September if I can. Not convinced things won’t go pear shaped with everything this winter so need to be mega organised.

Next clearance has the frozen magic ice sleeve in stock for £15 down from 30. Type toy into the text bar after filtering on 'shop all'

Sorry if I’ve offended anyone for starting a new thread, I panicked as I could see the last one was close to the end. Sorry ☹️

@PinkDaydreams so sorry in no way did I mean to imply have you offended anyone! Thank you for starting the new thread Flowers

Thank you for starting it! I mostly lurk over here, but I was getting a little panicky, too. Grin Honestly, you don't have anything to apologise for.

Let’s carry on with the Christmas bargains!! Grin

Saw the last one was full and panicked.

I have DSS and DDS birthday before Christmas and by Christmas I'll be heavily pregnant so need to be well organised this year as I don't think they'll be mad dashes round the shops!

I can't vouch for the site, but there's some pretty bee themed jewellery here at 80% off, and the code SAVE10 takes off a further 10%! It looks like an American site though, so just be aware of the risk of customs charges if the value (which includes P&P) goes above £15.

Magnetic building blocks £20.37 on Amazon deals.

Thank you for the new thread!

BadgerFace · 22/07/2020 08:26

Hurray for thread babies! Extra bit of Christmas magic. Smile

I am pleased to have a box full of bargains in July and I’m still telling all my friends about the Usborne £5 puzzle/book set to stash for the school birthday present drawer...!

sideorderofchips · 22/07/2020 08:34

It won't be me come september as it is reastie who takes over then.

Please no one start that. We are quite traditional on here.

Spam88 · 22/07/2020 08:34

Ticked off two people as complete on my Santa's bag app the other day - feeling very smug! Maternity pay stops at the end of August so early shopping is definitely helpful this year.

SodOffCovid · 22/07/2020 08:45

@BadgerFace what's this stash for a fiver?? Did I miss something...

FireflyGirl · 22/07/2020 08:58

For those who make hampers, Hobbycraft have their large wicker hamper on offer, £10 down from £15.

Isadora2007 · 22/07/2020 09:32

Whilst tradition is lovely and all that- please bear in mind that text often comes across harsher than the spoken word and some of the Comments about who does what are sounding really quite clique-y and not in the spirit of this group at all...
It’s very much appreciated that @PinkDaydreams made a new thread as the old one was finished and everyone is enjoying the benefits of savings early.

My savings offer is that I’m always happy to use my student discount for anyone here to grab a bargain.

Cliquey is the perfect word for it. I think I'll just go back to lurking, it certainly doesn't feel like the welcoming group I'd thought it to be.
PinkDaydreams · 22/07/2020 09:38

I’ve been on this thread under different usernames for many years now, I enjoy how positive and helpful everyone is and the willingness to share bargains and codes. Thank you @Isadora2007 for the student code offer, very helpful! A lot of places offering student discount you have to have a student beans account. Unfortunately I can’t get one (even though I’m a student) as their customer services have told me that they don’t offer a beans account to my studying institute, ridiculous! Confused

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 22/07/2020 09:52

I don't think it's fair to say that anyone is being cliquey. I apologised to @PinkDaydreams of that's how it came across.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2020 09:59

I don't think it's being cliquey, it's about long-running tradition (and what's Christmas about if not traditions?!).

The regular Christmas threads do have a huge dose of tradition and community in them.

However, I do think words can come across as perhaps harsher than intended in print.

Xmas Smile
PinkDaydreams · 22/07/2020 09:59

Hey I’m over it, let’s get back to the friendly chat and more importantly, BARGAINS!! Grin

whatwillicallmyself · 22/07/2020 10:38

Congratulations to those expecting around Christmas, that must add to the excitement.

Reastie · 22/07/2020 11:16

Hello again. I always see the spirit of this thread very much in the Christmas spirit of kindness and generosity, good will to all mners and a welcoming safe space (unless you mention a mooing cookie jar 🤣).

We have found thread traditions over the years and for continuity and respect of this the OP tends to be the same, but I’d hate anyone to feel excluded or berated, and would like to feel anyone can join in if they want.
