Time for sleep now...should've gone earlier, but we watched a load of Glasto coverage!

I'll finish the cross stitch tomorrow. Wooo!

Crazy, I try to do as much in one colour as possible before swapping. And there's loads of swapping on that one!

Firefly, that's a shame about the flap!

Nice dinner, Wreck. Good result with everyone eating it!

Mrs, feel better soon. Flowers

most you need a very big roof box Grin
Crazy that dec is actually quite accurate, even if it is quite basic Smile
Firefly How's the laundry mountain? I'll get some Euromillions tickets tomorrow while DH goes to the bank.
Mrs Hope you're feeling better this morning. Flowers
Fluffy is it windy up your way? We've a slight breeze and lovely blue sky at the mo.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/07/2020 06:11

That coo does look complicated crazy. I do tend to avoid ones based on one particular colour as I get bored quickly. Almost finished my elephant so need my Christmas one to arrive!

Hope you feel better this morning Mrs?

The wind here last night was crazy, bit scared to go and check on the garden to be honest.

Mrs hope you feel better migraines are the worst.

We're going to my friends for lunch today. Can't wait! They have a big house and loads of bathrooms plus haven't been anywhere for three months so I feel happy to go there.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/07/2020 07:19

Enjoy wreck :)

We are going to a BBQ at DS' best friend's garden :) They see each other at nursery every week where they can mix freely so we won't make them socially distance, just the adults will do so.

FireflyGirl · 05/07/2020 07:35

Hope you're feeling better today, MrsM. I used to get migraines as a teenager whenever I ate processed cheese Hmm but I always had the vision thing. I grew out of them, thankfully, although I then had one the day my Nana died when I was 25, triggered by stress and crying I think.

Wreck that sounds like a lovely adventure! I test drove some cars on Thursday, then walked to the cash machine, and that was the first time I've been out of the house apart from the allotment/DMIL's/hospital appointments in 3.5 months. I felt giddy!

most it's windy here too, I imagine all the pots I put to one side to clean are probably littering the garden now...

Boots we're getting there. I asked DH to stop loading the washing machine until I can get some of it dried in the dryer instead of covering every surface. We're not so desperate for clothes that they can't wait a couple of days!!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/07/2020 07:40

Boots, horrifically windy. It woke me a few times overnight and is set to last all day. I have to go and do some weeding, so I'm hoping to avoid death by debris today! Though we've had some much wind recently, I doubt there's anything loose still to go flying!

Crazy, it's funny how we do the same thing in different ways. This is how I started the coo. I do lots of the same colour at once, as long as it's easy to count the gaps! My hoop is bigger though, I think.

Actually, I need a 10" hoop too. Must look at eBay.

We've just had a massive whoosh of rain while I was looking for that photo. It's meant to be dry today. Hmm

Firefly I'll post the dvd out tomorrow for you Xmas Smile

What cars did you test drive? Have you picked one?

I hope you're ok today MrsMad. I suffer with migraines regularly and they're awful. Take it easy today and make sure you drink plenty of water.

Fluffy your cross stitch is lovely, it's nice to see something Christmassy that isn't just red and green!

I initially tried to do the Coo like you did but clearly my counting isn't very good because when I came to do a different colour the gaps were wrong and I had to unpick loads some. So I've given up on that now, I used one full strand of one colour then try and do another colour that's there's a fair bit of nearby so I can use the stitches on the fabric as a starting point IYSWIM?

I don't mind colour changes most, if they're in little blocks like yours but mine has random strands of different shades of brown.
Your elephant is beautiful!

Wreck I hope you enjoy your visit. I went to see my friend and her dd on Friday and it was so nice to see people!

It was really windy here last night but it seems bright and warm now so I'm quickly getting some washing on the line.
No real plan for the day - May pop up to see my parents as we can sit in the garden if the weather stays nice.

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2020 09:58

Morning everyone 😀
Feeling tired but much better thank God 😁
Must catch up with you all now 😘🤗

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2020 10:01

I can't seem to use this app l will be back on ltr have a lovely day everyone 😀

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/07/2020 10:45

Morning all. Had my op yesterday and I'm home with the weird numb dead fish arm, uber sexy compression socks and a fine array of drugs.

All the cross stitches are looking good. My tea towels have arrived but the pattern I linked to further up has gone. I've got similar holly borders saved on Pinterest so I'm still good to go.

Hope you are resting and recovering today MrsMad - take care.

I've caught up on everyone's news but am not coping too well with typing left handed. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

WreckTangled · 05/07/2020 11:03

Pleased you're back home woolly! Hope you're not in too much pain

pussycatinboots · 05/07/2020 13:10

most your efalump is looking fantastic! Grin
fluffy I'm like you - start with one colour and then the needle follows the pattern and wanders off Grin...I'd find it really hard not to. Also, no rain! Which means I'll need to nag DH to get his hose out laterWink
Crazy as long as your coo looks like a coo...I've filled bits in and generally "faked" some redesigned patterns in the past, they look fine, only you will know where the mistakes areWink
Firefly good luck with DH and the laundry Grin What cars did you test??? dreams of a loverly red alfa
Woolly I bet you rock the socks Grin I've loads of patterns - let me know what you want and I'll see what I've got.
Mrs take your time - don't rush around like a nutter today!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/07/2020 13:45

Mrs and Woolly
Yes , rest up today . Take recovery time seriously .
Sleep, fluids , some light rubbish TV .(DH is watching a rubbishy Hallowe'en horror , it's not Christmas but it's my 2nd favourite time of year Xmas Grin

DH and I cleared a load of the garden yesterday so all those long un-used muscles are saying Oi today .

I bought a Prestige pressure cooker - not used it yet , the booklet is a bit lacking . Any online recipes are either complex meat stews (we're vegetarian except DS) or for an Instant Pot .

It's going to be Trial'n'Error !
My DMum used to cook bt pressure cooker and I hated them but this is a new fangled one so I'm hopeful not to decorate the ceoiling with soup.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/07/2020 14:34

Ooh, Woolly, that arm thing is very odd. Mine took about 15 hours to come back to me. What did they end up having to do to you? I empathise totally. Left thumb typing is awful!

Most, I love the elephant too. It's lovely colours.

Boots, I used to do it like Crazy does, but I find the other way faster now. I'm onto my toy shop one next. Exciting!

Gardening aches are severe, 70. Empathy there too!

I've been at the allotment. I harvested the beetroot, some rhubarb, peas, bread beans, courgettes, lettuce and red currants. I put more beetroot and lettuce seeds in too.

Boots, allotment butt update: all full, including the one which is new and was nigh-on empty last weekend! We've had so much rain!

Is this a family car, Firefly? We need to know more.

Crazy, I've been known to unpick loads too. Never mind! My counting is often very shit indeed.

Our bedding is dry. Might do a darks load too as it'll dry fast enough! Or maybe save it for overnight and hang it out first thing.

Hi all, I’ve been on the Christmas threads for the past 4 years but regularly name change. Love to lurk and rarely post, but I’m feeling rather festive this week so thought I’d say hello. The weather has no doubt helped me start thinking about Christmas (I’ve just had to dash outside to bring my washing in) but I’ve used the rubbish weather as an excuse to a) watch Arthur Christmas with the DC and b) write my Christmas lists. It’s strange because I’m assuming we’ll be out of lockdown and therefore able to do the things we normally do, such as visiting “Santa”, but I don’t know for definite. Hoping so though.

Just bought DD’s Christmas dress off EBay, which I’ve done for the past couple of years. I either buy Christmas jumpers in the January sales or I buy off Ebay but, as much as I love Christmas, I’m not paying full price for Christmas themed clothes that only get worn in December.

DD’s birthday is just before Christmas and DS’s is just after, so I have to get my thinking cap on early as to what gifts to buy. They honestly don’t need anything at all, as we’ve ended up buying quite a few board games, books, toys etc during lockdown to keep them entertained..

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2020 17:17

Woolly thank you l am fine now, bit tired but otherwise fine. Hope you are doing good at least it is all over wth now Flowers
Thank you everyone for your kind 'get well soon wishes' I am fine , a bit tired they take it out of you don't they !
Beautiful cross stitches well done everyone Smile
Managed to do 2 loads of washing & dry it on the line! Dh is cooking Sunday dinner bless his heart he's a good un.
We are going to check over/measure up Dd2 house in Cardiff tomorrow for the first time in 16 weeks!!! She is so excited Grin

WreckTangled · 05/07/2020 19:11

Ahem. Three bottles of wine later... might have to go to bed soon.

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2020 19:26

Wreck Shock make sure your blood sugars are alright first! Eat something. Glad you enjoyed yourself Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 05/07/2020 19:53

Good typing, considering, Wreck!

Definitely eat first. 😁

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 05/07/2020 20:07

It was three between the two of us... I've had two coffees and a cup of tea so am OK.

It was quite warm here today, even the wind was warm.

FireflyGirl · 05/07/2020 20:20

Lots of bread and some water, you'll be reet Wreck Wink

Hope your drugs have kicked in, Woolly, or that it's not too painful.

I was wondering the other day if DD2's house move was being affected by CV MrsM. Glad to hear it's all going ahead.

We need a new family car (although they're both family cars tbh); mine is 11 years old now and we want one with better safety features.

I have always really liked Vauxhalls. My first car was a Corsa called Max, who was amazing, and had awesome quirks like no power steering and a radio that wouldn't work between October and March... DH suggested I look at similar model hatchbacks, so I tried a Seat Leon. Wasn't keen. Was supposed to be trying a Golf but as the guy went to move it round for me it had a flat tyre. I also tried an Astra estate, which just reinforced how much I like Vauxhalls. I find the driving position really comfortable, and with it being an estate the boot was cavernous drool.

I'm booked at a different dealership on Tuesday, so I'll see if they've got a Golf, and I also want to try the i30 and the Octavia.

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2020 21:08

Thank you Fire Smile
She's so looking forward to it Grin
Good luck with looking for a car, l hate it Hmm

NerosFiddle · 05/07/2020 21:22

Fire what are you looking for in a car? I might be able to give you some options.

Mrs a migraine floors need for days. Hope you're feeling better.

Wreck keep drinking water/tea. I can't deal with hangovers at all. Sometimes I need to take a dioralyte before bed. It doesn't take much for me to have a hangover though, which is why I'm not a big drinker.
