Die Hard is definitely a Christmas film and DH and I always make sure to watch it sometime during the 12 days of Christmas. .

DH told me this morning how excited he is for Christmas! I think I am finally rubbing off on him Grin

We are going for a socially distanced walk in the park with some friends today. Can't wait for next week when we can go further than 5 miles! Might head to Bristol Zoo/The Wild Place.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/07/2020 09:27

I feel like this is somewhere I can get on board with

You've got the user name for this thread so you're halfway there already Xmas Grin

Fluffy he wants a Fender Stratocaster Guitar and once his guitar lessons to back to Real Life (he's had virtual guitar classes) he can try one out in the music shop .
I'm sure they'll trust him, he's been going there as a serious pupil, not like the scene in Waynes World where he wanders in and gets denied the chance to play Stairway Xmas Grin

KVlovesWinter · 04/07/2020 10:08

Good morning

We had a lot of rain last night so everything is soaking. It's cloudy but bright today so think we will go out for a nice long walk and hope we don't get caught in the rain like last Saturday 😁

Apart from that I think it'll mostly be a housework and decluttering day. Need to have a right good sort out before Christmas this year have lots to give away and sell

CrazyBaubles · 04/07/2020 10:17

Welcome back puss, we've missed you!

I've attached a pic of the Dec, it's nothing amazing and you could easily do a homemade one but I keep forgetting.

Also, Bruce Willis makes me 🤢, hes def not for me!
Now the actors in Avengers.... Chris Evans, Hemsworth & RDJ 🥰

70 we have a few musicians in the family and a Fender Strat or a Gretsch seem to be ones everybody loves so your DS has good taste.

Hope your head isn't too bad Wreck

most I wish my DH was. I've just asked him if he's looking forward to Christmas and he said "I'm looking forward to our flight on Boxing Day." Apparently this is so we can enjoy without having to work in / around family but I don't believe him, he just doesn't enjoy Christmas.

Welcome Xmas

KVloves where will you go for a walk?

We've been very lazy this morning - I woke up at 8:45 and DH at 9:40 so we're now contemplating having bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms & toast as a kind of brunch. Not sure what we'll be doing after that, it looks bloody miserable outside today.

CrazyBaubles · 04/07/2020 10:18

I forgot the pic Blush FFS

I've never seen die hard.

My head is fine I don't drink much Grin

Fluffy my Rex London order hasn't even been dispatched yet did yours take a while?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 04/07/2020 10:27

Glad you are back boots Smile

Sorry your DH is a Grinch/scrooge Crazy. DH has informed me that if the house we have rented for Christmas doesn't decorate we are taking our 9ft tree and all our decs with us. We do have an estate car but I think DS and I will have to carry the suitcases with clothes in on our laps Grin

Still waiting for my Christmas cross stitch. Can't complain though as DH has been waiting for his new pants for about 3 weeks now. Our post really is diabolical at the moment.

NerosFiddle · 04/07/2020 11:04

Morning.

The Hoover we got is an onson. I'd never heard of it but it had good reviews and was on offer on amazon.

I love Brooklyn 99. Jakes obsession with Die Hard is hilarious.

My favourite Christmas film though is Muppets Christmas carol. I don't watch it until Christmas Eve. It's my treat to myself. Dh always watch the Fr Ted Christmas special on Christmas Eve with a wee glass of something. A few years ago we were up half the night trying to build a wooden kitchen. I wouldn't recommend it after a few drinks.

I keep meaning to email good housekeeping to see if they are doing a get ahead for Christmas magazine this year. It's usually July it's out.

Went out first thing this morning and got Ds uniform. Well I stayed in the car with dd and dh took ds in. His uniform is size 2-3 and so cute. The woman in the shop said they're big sizes so that they get the full year out of them and most are in age 2-3.

WreckTangled · 04/07/2020 11:10

I love Brooklyn 99 too. My sister and I often communicate solely in '99 GIFs Grin I'm annoyed I missed the new season starting on E4 and can't watch it anywhere now.

CrazyBaubles · 04/07/2020 12:06

Wreck how have you managed not to see Die Hard? I tried hard to avoid it but somehow it got me 😂

most I took fairy lights with me (battery ones) to Scotland for Christmas last year and DH thought I was nuts.
To be fair to him, he doesn't put a downer on Christmas and he really enjoys watching me enjoy it IYSWIM so he's amazing at giving surprise presents and trips but the actual season doesn't do anything for him. The only things he likes about it are seeing me enjoy it and the food - he will happily eat a big turkey roast then survive on cold turkey, stuffing and pickles until January.

I'm quite new to Brooklyn Nine Nine - I only discovered it around a year ago so I got to binge watch a few seasons. I regularly send this to DH / colleagues when work is stressful if you know, you can hear this pic 😂

I've told my DS I want this ...I used to play (badly) .
It's a bit flash though (not to mention ££)

I could buy my car for the price of that guitar Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/07/2020 12:21

I saw a promo poster for Dr Dolittle (film) ...Robert Downey Junior is lookin' gooooooooood

DD made me watch Brooklyn 99 (Hallowe'en episodes and the DieHard Dept store Christmas one are my favourites )

Our Christmas films - Lost Christmas (every year since 2011) and this year we'll add Last Christmas (saw it at the cinema , it had mixed reviews but I loved it )

FireflyGirl · 04/07/2020 12:29

Sorry, got lost under the mountain of laundry Wink

New washing machine installed (it's a Samsung, 70, and it sings to me when it's finished) and earning its way. We have the tumble drier stacked on top, so DBIL is coming to help DH put it back on tonight. It's drizzly, so until then I have wet clothes over every door, radiator, bannister, chair and anything else I can get them over.

I'm with Crazy, has to be Muppet Christmas Carol with mulled wine while wrapping. DH and I also make a point of watching Scrooged together. I haven't watched any Christmas films yet, but I have started planning activities for the advent calendar, mostly because I know I probably won't be up to thinking about those things once DC2 arrives. If I go overdue, she'll arrive mid-November.

70 you could put it on your euromillions list? £127m next week!!

Crazy I speed read your post, and at first thought your DH was looking forward to your Boxing Day fight Blush

My embroidery hoops have arrived, so I'm going to try and get some more of my cross stitch done tonight.

FireflyGirl · 04/07/2020 12:33

We always used to watch the Christmas film with John Lithgow and Dudley Moore when I was younger - Santa Claus the Movie - but nowhere seems to put it on nowadays. Might have to actually buy it Shock

CrazyBaubles · 04/07/2020 14:43

Good choice 70! My dads most treasured guitar is a Gretsch. I have no idea what one but I know it's blue.
I'm a piano player so this is my dream buy - https://m.thomann.de/gb/steinwaysonssb2111438342.htm?o=3&search=1593869664

I've never heard of Lost Christmas so may look that one up.
I couldn't get into Scrooged either so may have to try that again as so many people seem to enjoy it.

Lol at the idea of having a Boxing Day fight Firefly 😂

I think I have a copy of Santa Claus on dvd that came free with a paper years ago but I didn't really enjoy it. I can check if the dvd is ok and post it to you if you'd like (as long as it's not scratched or anything)?

I have hoovered, filled and emptied the dishwasher, done a load of washing and tidied upstairs. Going to have a bath then clean the bathroom then decide what to do with the rest of the day as DH is going for a long overdue catch up with one of his friends who am I kidding, I'm going to watch crap tv and cross stitch

NoWordForFluffy · 04/07/2020 15:03

We're back from Speke. We had a few showers but nothing too bad while we were there.

Wreck, no dispatch from Rex yet. I suppose they're socially-distancing so will take longer.

Firefly, is that the washer you can add socks etc too through a flap? We can stop ours and open the door to add stuff. It's a godsend!

Loving all the Christmas film talk. Xmas Smile

At least your DS knows what he wants, 70.

We're back to 40+ mph wind tomorrow. Yay. Hmm

Boots, Keir has been for a haircut today. Damn, that man is hot! 🥵 🤤😂

I made a really nice dinner of chicken breast stuffed with pesto, sun dried tomato and mozzarella wrapped in bacon. The mozzarella seemed to disappear though maybe because it was a cheap one Hmm clean plates all round though which is always a bonus.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 04/07/2020 18:29

Ooh lovely wreck!

We have had such a lovely day. Relaxing Saturday morning then met our friends in the park and had a lovely catch up in the park. Then a very British picnic in the rain and a two hour long tramp round a nature reserve. Now collapsed in a heap in our PJs at home :)

FireflyGirl · 04/07/2020 19:04

Sounds yummy, Wreck. I had a Morrisons takeaway curry. Was okay, nothing exciting, but probably a good thing I have my omeprazole tablets now!

We took DS to the local park, but it's still closed, so we ran around on the field a bit. Well, obviously I didn't Grin

No flap, unfortunately, Fluffy.

I might take you up on that offer, Crazy! Thank you! How did your cross stitching go? Grin

CrazyBaubles · 04/07/2020 21:31

Wreck your tea sounds lovely.
I had 'pizza' made with a puff pastry base which was quite nice. I've since had some low cal ice cream which is tasty (white choc & raspberry) and a few rum & cokes.

What a nice day most.

Just let me know about the dvd Firefly. I checked it earlier and it looked ok. It came free with The Sun years ago.

Cross stitching is going slowly - the millions of colour changes and shades of brown are doing my head in at the mo....

My hoop came, so I've done some more of my cross stitch. I'm blaming my taking ages to finish on there being lots of colour changes too, Crazy 😉

I'll send you my address!

WreckTangled · 04/07/2020 22:37

Dinner was delicious but it was a pain to make so I'm a bit disappointed they all liked it so much as it means I'll have to make it again Grin

I've been watching Anne with an E on Netflix have binged loads in a few days.

Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2020 23:02

Have been poorly today , came home from Mum & Bob's and had this strange light in my eyes like a jagged edge. I know that sounds nuts. I have ever had it before l was really worried l had something terrible going on like a stroke ! Anyway this strange light was followed quite soon after by an awful headache and tiredness, I took some pain relief and had a sleep and it finally went about 2 hours ago. I realise now it was a Migraine cused by stress, It couldn't have been anything else. Am not surprised either hmm I am fine now thankfully Smile
