Morning all, so glad it is Friday! It's still so cold here, am sat at my desk with a Christmas blanket over my legs!

WreckTangled · 03/07/2020 12:12

The quality of my click and collect is shit. Not to mention things disappearing off the order again. I'm going to have to go back to Aldi. Such a hassle. It's really annoyed me Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 03/07/2020 12:41

Is that Tesco, Wreck? We had broken eggs and flattened raspberries from Sainsbury's yesterday. Third week running for squashed fruit. They refund, but I also messaged them to flag that it keeps happening so it's maybe a training issue! More like a daft picker issue!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 03/07/2020 12:52

Yes it was. I had triple checked my order before I confirmed it and my asparagus had just disappeared, I asked for three large carrots and got three tiny wiggy ones, the raspberries had turned to soup and my tenderstem broccoli was open so had gone all dry which you could see straight away from looking at it. Our nearest supermarket is a good 15 minute drive away and this one was 40 minutes so it's not like I can pop out to replace them easily. I have emailed and I know they'll refund me but I'm beyond fed up of it now every week it's something different annoying me Grin

KVlovesWinter · 03/07/2020 14:32

Good afternoon

Much warmer here this afternoon was really cold and wet this morning. The air con at work has been turned up and down all day😁

I'm hoping to get an early finish from work this afternoon. Also need to fit in a food shop at some point, there's just not enough hours in the day

Here's a pic of the cross stitch I'm doing, think a couple of you asked last night

Ooh new appliances Xmas Grin

What WM did you get Firefly ?
What vacuum did you get Nero ?

I have had my Halo Capsual for a couple of weeks now , it is so lightweight it feels like a weeny vacuum -on-a-stick , but by Jingo , it rocks !
The Shark Rocket has been sitting sulkily at the bottom of the stairs , I blow a raspberry at it as I Halo past it . (Those moggies with their ever shedding coats and kicking out litter )
(Might keep it just for the stairs , we bought one of the pet brush attachment heads for it which only goes onto the main body . So the long tube-y bit could go into the Shed of Doom)

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/07/2020 19:50

I am watching The Holiday as the weather is making me feel Christmassy :)

Mrsmadevans · 03/07/2020 20:02

Evening everyone Smile
70 l like the sound of your Halo , we have numerous well3 Miele hoovers scattered around the place and a Henry . I don't like them really because they are awfully heavy though. Mum has a Gtech and it is amazing , no good for me but for her daily pick up its fantastic .

Mrsmadevans · 03/07/2020 20:02

Most why aren't you watching Monty missy lol

KVlovesWinter · 03/07/2020 20:05

I love The Holiday one of my favourite Christmas films always sit down to watch it Christmas Eve after I've set all the presents out.
The weather is so autumn like tonight definitely getting the Christmassy feeling more and more 🎄

Just got home from doing the food shop Morrisons was so quiet for a change. Wonder how things will go with the pubs opening tomorrow can't believe they are allowing them to open from 6am

Coffee and cross stitch time for me now 😁

WreckTangled · 03/07/2020 20:09

I'm not that keen on the holiday Blush sorry!

I can't think of anything worse than being in a pub tomorrow. It's not that I necessarily think it's unsafe but it will be so busy and I'm sure there'll be trouble in the evening. I would certainly consider our local pub garden on a sunny afternoon sometime soon but it's so expensive it's not really worth it.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/07/2020 20:23

I weirdly never watch Monty live Mrs! I tend to watch it a day or two later Grin

The Holiday isn't mry favourite but it was on Netflix and I love the cottage in it.

Mrsmadevans · 03/07/2020 20:26

Went to Tesco today Wreck seems as if everything is so expensive gone , will upload my receipt.
Nero is your HOOVER COMING WITH THE GROCERY DELIVERY ?
mightily impressed if so What did you get ?
Fluffy not like you to have damp washing around the house it normally dries for you , love the cross stitch very Delft Smile
Fire l am laughing at you re the Dad doing away with the Mum Grin

Most it's lovely tonight you will enjoy it when you see it, so pretty.
Wreck ours are still closed but l can imagine what it will be like when they reopen Hmm Don't blame you avoiding them like the plague! Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/07/2020 20:43

The washing dries really quickly indoors if it's been outside. It was dry this morning really, but DH has left it hanging there. I'm ignoring it. 😂

I don't mind The Holiday. But everyone (well, me @Pussycatinboots) knows that it's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from the Nakatomi tower! 😂😂

Wreck, DD is an avid reader too. Gets through loads of books. DS, nowhere near the keen reader!

I'm watching Monty. Rare for me to watch when it's actually on too!

We're having a new job celebratory drink tonight. Whoop!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 03/07/2020 20:44

Oh yeah, I wouldn't go to the pub tomorrow either! Way too busy. We're going for dinner on DS' birthday in 3 weeks.

I love a 'what I would buy if I won the lottery' conversation. First thing would be a first class flight, a good few months travelling around then a small holding with an old farmhouse and I'd hire a cleaner straight away Blush

Firefly I'm sure I read somewhere that getting rid of the mother's helps children get into a story otherwise they just think 'my mum wouldn't let me do that / go there' etc - it's why very few Disney characters have mums!

I couldn't handle online shopping Wreck. I'm very picky and don't trust people to buy the fruit / veg I want - lockdown has tested my limits as DH has been going on his own.

KVloves cute cross stitch!

Ah Fluffy the age old Die Hard debate. I always said it wasn't a Christmas film but it has a festive feel to me now as we only ever watch it at Christmas.
I keep meaning to get a tree Dec of Bruce Willis climbing through the vent but keep forgetting.

Do you watch Brooklyn Nine Nine? If yes, I prefer their version - "Yippee Kayak Other Buckets" Xmas Grin

I really like Home Alone, Fred Klaus and The Santa Claus 1&2 but last year I watched and loved Deck The Halls and The Christmas Chronicles.
In this house though, it's not
Christmas until I watch A Muppets Christmas Carol while wrapping presents

I went to Cwmbran today to return some clothes I ordered online. The only queue was for Primark so I popped in to Matalan and picked up a few bits.
I'm exhausted today but no idea why... I'm going to blame the weather

NoWordForFluffy · 03/07/2020 21:34

The director has confirmed that it's a Christmas film, Crazy.

What's this about a Die Hard dec?! Xmas Shock

pussycatinboots · 03/07/2020 21:44

You called... Blush
sorry, but the thought of Bruce Willis in his vest...

Had a bit of a tough time with "life" over the last week or two, but I think I'm in need of some friendly Christmas cheer and banter to get me back on track. That and a hunk in a vest Wink

Oh, and @NoWordForFluffy, I saw him first Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/07/2020 00:44

174

Welcome back pussycat

Rab C Nesbitt also wears a vest (less hunk , more chunk though )

I'm wandering down the rabbit hole of electric guitars ( my PFB will be 21 in Dec so it might be a Birthday/Christmas combined )

pussycatinboots · 04/07/2020 05:05

70 yeees...I'll stick to Bruce Grin

Anyone off down the pub in an hour?

NoWordForFluffy · 04/07/2020 07:26

Boots, you can have Bruce and I'll have Keir. Deal?! 😂😂

Onslow (is that his name? Keeping up Appearances) also wears a vest. I'm beginning to think that Bruce looking good in a vest is in a minority grouping of 1!

We're off to Speke Hall today. It'll be soggy underfoot after yesterday!

70, I'd set a budget and let him choose himself. Taking him to the shop will be part of the fun. Does he have a favourite maker?

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 04/07/2020 08:01

fluffy I wonder what Keir looks like in a vest? Grin
Yes, it is Onslow...you might have a point!
Have a good day - don't get blown away.
DH went out in the car and saw a mahoosive queue (not socially distanced either) outside a hairdressers at 7am Shock

WreckTangled · 04/07/2020 08:43

Morning. Had a couple of drinks last night so will be a slow day today. It's rained overnight. We played cards against humanity and we won a round Grin

Mrs I've cancelled my click and collect for next week I'm definitely going back to Aldi although there's also a new Lidl but maybe I'll do that the week after... I just don't want to have to go to more than one supermarket but I'm having to this week anyway after Tesco being so crap.

Housework to do today I think.

I'm annoyed with Boden, they've sent me a PayPal money request for an item I've already revived. Apparently if an item is on back order they don't charge until it's dispatched and then (if you've paid with PayPal) they have to request the money. Such a stupid system I definitely won't be doing that again. When I paid I paid the full amount, and hats what's on the PayPal receipt but when I go into my past transactions it just comes up with the amount minus the item on back order Confused so I had no idea this was going to happen.

Xmasfairy86 · 04/07/2020 08:52

I feel like this is somewhere I can get on board with.....
