It's a Riverdrift House one, Crazy.

I'm psyching myself up to clean the bathroom. DH has just galloped off to Tesco to do an emergency jam sugar shop to convert our homegrown fruit into jam!

Morning!

It's windy here as well, cloudy but bright so hopefully the washing will dry quickly.

Crazy Im in Newcastle, it's typical north east weather we have today.

We've not got much planned for today maybe a walk out this afternoon. I need to do a top up food shop at some point as well.

The one thing I don't miss at the minute on a Sunday is the ironing of school uniforms😁

Marshmallow there are loads of threads on the Christmas section about Dishwasher Vodka ( Iit's a Thing Xmas Grin )

I used a bottle of vodka (supermarket own brand) split into 2 bottles (DH had an empty whisky botlle - rinsed well)

I used the purple in one bottle , red in the other . Loads of recipes split all the colours up and you make mini Rainbow Bottles as gifts ( I ate the other ones) some put them all in , but the colours aren't as pretty

We didn't need to run it through the DW they dissolves really well . The filtered vodka was clear red/clear purple .
Store in the fridge it goes like syrup.

If you do put your bottle through the DW to melt whatever you put in, 50-70% fill with vodka and add the amount of chocolate/sweets in the recipe . Leave a space for liquid expansion.
I don't know if there's a maximum , you can always add more .
It depends if you want a vodka with flavour or more a liqueur type liquid sweeties !

Wrap the bottle in clingfilm (in case it ruptures you don;t want a load of broken glass) , put your bottle through a hot cycle , let it cool a bit , shake , check it dissolved .

Mars Bar works well ( not that I'ved tried it) so Frys Chocolate Cream should too .

We should all do a trial in early Dec . Pick your favourite then compare .

I'd try Sherbert Lemons for my DS ( he's got a bottle of vodka hanging about .)

I like the Riverdrift ones Fluffy - my list of kits to buy is getting longer by the day 😂

I've never been to Newcastle KVloves but I'd like to. Are you from there originally? There is a lot of the North I would like to visit.

70 those recipes make me wish I liked vodka! I'm a spiced rum, whisky or cocktail drinker and don't think I could make my own rum.

I'm now up and have opened the curtains. It's intermittently cloudy but seems warm which is nice.

Going to clean my bathroom then get stuck into the cross stitch - this is my progress so far...

Morning all.

We've had a bit of a disaster of a morning in the Nero household. Ds threw up all over his bed. He's had d&v since. Washed everything and put them out on the line and it's been torrential.

Vodka isn't for me but I'd have a crack at flavoured gin.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/06/2020 12:38

Bloody hell, Neros. Nightmare. I hope he's better soon.

We have washing out as it's so windy. It's spitting a bit, but I think the wind strength will counter that nicely.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/06/2020 14:39

Ah poor NeroDS both ends at once !
Has he got a emperature ? Hopefully he can eat something bland and lots of fluids .

I really fancy the idea of the DW Vodka flavours but I don't drink any alcohol except my Amarretto in Christmas Cake ( and I'm never buying marzipan again. Making almond paste is so much nicer )

I made it for a NY party a few years back, not bothered since .

NoWordForFluffy · 28/06/2020 15:18

I've finally got my act together and finished cleaning the kitchen. I've also made jam, cherry vodka (the plot next door's cherries - given to us, not stolen!) and gingerbread men / shapes.

I should probably have a shower now. 😂

DH and I cleared nettles and bindweed from the bottom of the garden (DS aimlessly held the bags )

I found one nettle planr with caterpillars Xmas Grin

We usually plant nastrusiams to attract the Cabbage Whites but I haen't got round to it this year ....so they've taken matters into their own little butterfly hands . Though I've just looked online and these might be Red Admirals !

We left a fair sized patch for them to eat and shelter .

Mrsmadevans · 28/06/2020 19:20

I don't like Voddie so l won't be using my DW to make anything
spoilsport Grin
Nero hope your Ds is much better now Flowers

WreckTangled · 28/06/2020 19:26

We went to see PIL's today. They live near the sea and the dc paddled in a nearby stream. It was a nice day but now I've got that Sunday night feeling. Can't wait for the summer holidays just three weeks (and one day) to go...

I also bought some stocking fillers from Rex London yesterday so have finally made a start!

NoWordForFluffy · 28/06/2020 19:47

We've been battering good old Rex! My stocking filler purchasing is now complete!

Here's my cherry vodka happily infusing!

Now we've reached the half way mark , I looked at some bedding for DS . I told DH that we willl need new Christmas bedding ( warm jersey rather than cotton. Not micro fibre .At not brushed cotton because it does fit over our huge amount of mattress toppers ...it's like The Princess and the Pea Xmas Grin )

DH just does the look like his brain is melting out of his ear

So - ordered some jersey bedding for DS and I'll see how it goes , then might order Festive bedding later .

Mrsmadevans · 28/06/2020 22:03

That's the way to do it 70 Grin
I may be persuaded to change my mind re the Voddie Fluffy looks smashing! Grin
Wreck your day sounds lovely well done on starting the Christmas shop too!

Up early and ready for work this morning. Just been enjoying a very nice cuppa before I start a very busy day☕️

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2020 07:27

Morning!

I couldn't get to sleep last night AND I woke early. Yay. I'm knackered.

Need to get up soon. I'm worried about whether the greenhouse has survived the wind overnight as it's been awful. 😬

I'd die a sweaty death in jersey bedding! 😂

Mild and windy again here today. Sunny at the moment.

Dd is being vile again so pleased she's at school.

I need to ring the doctors today as dds hand are so sore the skin is all peeling off despite using medicated soap at home and school. Wonder if they'll accept photos so I don't have to drag both dc in. I know they would with adults but there's a safeguarding aspect with children.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2020 08:09

It's tipping down here! I need to water the greenhouse. It'll be the longest 10m dash in the world!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2020 08:10

DS' hands got like that due to the number of hand washes they had to do at school. Maybe try the photo first?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 29/06/2020 08:15

Yep that's why dds are like it. I got her a medicated soap to use at home and at school but it's not got any better. I have to ring the dr to speak to one before I do anything and then one will ring me back and either ask for a photo or ask her to come in. But I don't know if they'll be set up for photo consults with children in the same way they can't allow online booking/medication for under sixteens.

Mrsmadevans · 29/06/2020 08:55

Morning all 😀
Cold and wet here dark & dank 🙄
It's not nice at all.
Hope everyone is doing well 😀
Off up to Mum & Bob's soon 😁

Have a great day 😀

Mrsmadevans · 29/06/2020 08:58

Hope you can get Dds hands seen too *Wreck" bless her 💐

BiddyPop · 29/06/2020 10:51

Morning all, cold and howling wind, although it has stopped raining again - lots of very heavy showers all weekend though. Busy week ahead with a new Minister, but I ignored work all weekend in anticipation, and spent a lot of yesterday cooking (a large batch of spag bol to fill freezer, stuffed tomatoes and mushrooms for tonight, and last nights dinner (duck which was already confit'ed, mash and the last of last summer's French beans from the freezer) and supervising DD making oreo cupcakes). This morning, I ordered my tent (I wanted one to stand up in, with a porch, and got a good price on one including a footprint), and DD's notes books for English. She has a small booklist for next year for a change, just 1 Shakespearean play and extra copies. i'm getting a haircut on Wednesday, and probably have to go into town a couple of days to go into the office. But otherwise going to hunker down at home as the weather looks miserable all week. And we're doing the last Cubs meeting before summer break on Saturday, in real life for the 1st time since early March, to invest new Cubs and have a walk around the local park, and I'll drive down home afterwards (DH and DD are going on Friday night). So a quiet weekend was a good idea before all that.

WreckTangled · 29/06/2020 13:18

How are you getting a haircut biddy?! I'm not a regular goer so even once they're open will have to wait months before I can get one.

Steroid cream prescribed for dd which is what I thought she needed so that's good. Hoping DH will collect it on his way home from work.
