After having a large spider blow in threw the window the other day and land straight on my laptop, I have gone off all wildlife Fluffy.

WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 07:49

Thanks to fluffy I have booked Kew at Christmas! I've also booked parking very close by on someone's drive. I've reserved it for all day in case we are able to hop on the train to London beforehand, or even wander in Richmond. Will have to wait and see what happens though.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 07:53

Yay, Wreck. I'm so glad that See Tickets' email to me helped you!

I'm more relaxed about bugs since having the allotment. In fact, something weird I've found is that little spindly spiders love living on or near chillies. Weird, but happens every year.

Oh, it's currently spitting. Hopefully it'll rain properly as it's rather gloomy!

Morning everyone 😀
well done Fluffy so glad you got those tickets in hand Wreck 😀❤️
I just lost a massive message on here 🙄 never mind, never mind it is what it is, hope everybody has a great day 😀
I'm too hot to redo it 😂

🥵♨️🌡️🌶️🔥

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 08:11

Bloody boiling, isn't it Mrs? I wish our storm would hurry up!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 08:18

Our rain is coming tomorrow morning. I hope we get a storm but I'm not sure. I once saw a lightning ball, that was cool.

NerosFiddle · 26/06/2020 08:23

Morning.

We currently have thunder.

I fell asleep early last night and missed Liverpool winning the league. I've waited 30 years and I fall asleep at the last minuteConfused

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/06/2020 08:40

It's much cooler in my bedroom this morning but the temperature is set to rise rapidly soon.

Neros it was bloody brilliant! I'm hoping that there will be 🥂 sometime today although I'm not sure how much I'll be able to drink as I'm pretty much off my tits on painkillers anyway.

I probably need to give DH my phone to stop me Christmas shopping. Visited the Rex London and Fiorelli sales yesterday Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 08:49

The rain has started. Good decision not to go to water the allotment! 😂 (I was just lazy / tired after midnight ticket booking!)

The wind is a little fresher, but the storm is needed to lift the heaviness.

Nero, at least it's easy to watch again. 30 years ago you'd have just missed it end of! That's exactly the type of thing I'd do though.

We are due rain tonight, can't wait for the mugginess to clear.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/06/2020 10:20

We had some rain about 6am , nice to hear it and it has lifted the mugginess .

DH cleaned the gutters yesterday - overcoming his loathing of heights while DS and I stood at the base . Loads of muck scooped out

We have to take the ladders out the back (our house doesn't a straight through way from the garden to front ) but we discovered that not only had someone dumped a load of rubbish at the end of our garden , there was a bloody skip there Angry .
If anyone had asked "Can we put a skip outside your garden" I'd have said "Ok"
But now we cannot get our fence panels delivered

Goes off to look for who is doing building work and poke them in the eye

WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 12:01

It's boiling here 27° at the moment. I've got the food shopping they were having issues so I queued for almost an hour Angry then I had the queue for the bank as mine won't accept cheques through the app. Went into M&S to get dd a bra and ended up spending over £100 on clothes for them but they want to pay for them themselves which is sweet and I'm pleased because they know I'll buy them things they need but if they want them then they should use their own money. I will pay for dds bras and ds' rash vest.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 12:12

We do that with the kids, Wreck. If they want a cuddly toy from Dobbies or whatever, they have to buy them themselves.

We had loads of rain which has cleared the air. It's still warm - and the sun is now out - but it's not so oppressive now. Thankfully.

I sometimes feel like I spend my life queuing. Annoying!

We had thunder from 2am until after 5.30 this morning, but it didn't start properly raining until almost 5 (I woke with a particularly loud bang at 4.30, DH and DD were both awake long before, but I had to go get DD's sailing gear in off the line and it was only lightly wet, but rain was hammering on the extension roof 15 minutes later!). I'm in very bad form though due to stupid bosses doing stupid things today.....and on top of not enough sleep and my knee, it's made me grumpy. So I am sending DH and DD alone to Ikea (they want a max of 2 people per trip) and will finish my work and maybe even manage a nap.....

BiddyPop · 26/06/2020 14:51

DH and DD are going after 5pm tonight to Ikea, hoping it will be quieter. Meanwhile it is hotter than yesterday today even after the thunder overnight - 24 degrees.

WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 15:59

I want to go to ikea!

I'm going to email a complaint to M&S after I noticed all of their first bras are 'for comfort and modestly' I didn't realise my 10 year old needed to be concerned with modesty Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 18:32

I'm not a bit fan of IKEA. It might be better with social distancing though!

That's rubbish, Wreck. Definitely complain.

Evening

We finally have some rain! Little bit of a thunder storm starting now some really loud rumbles. Really hope it clears the air it was 29 degrees in the living room when I got home from work 🥵

Ds and I are about to watch The Grinch animated version hoping it's good we've not watched it before. Will do some cross stitch later tonight

WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 19:43

KV we surprisingly enjoyed it, I wasn't sure we would like it as much but we did.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 20:08

We loved The Grinch too!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 26/06/2020 20:42

It's been muggy and oppressive all day! Overcast, but warmer than yesterday. We had 'rain' at about 5, which was about 10 splodges and that was it. Hopefully the thunderstorm will make its way over here soon!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/06/2020 20:44

I saw there was a Mark Gatiss production of A Christmas Carol but it's at the Alexandre Palace

It's a gorgeous venue but an utter nightmare journey from here so I'm passing that one up.

DD and I went to a showing of ACC a couple of years ago in Basildon. Smallish room so really nice armosphere (but it wouldn't work now with Social Distancing )

FireflyGirl · 26/06/2020 20:54

My mum lives less than 20 miles away, and apparently they've had a massive thunderstorm with the whole shebang, including a house set on fire by lightning. It's not even spitting here...

CrazyBaubles · 26/06/2020 20:58

Sorry I have been MIA.

KVloves I really enjoyed the new animated version of the Grinch, much better than the original cartoon or the Jim Carey version imo.

Never seen Christmas Carol live 70 but my dm bought tickets to Miracle on 34th street a few years ago and that was lovely, very festive.

It's been unbearably hot here for 3 days now. We've had all windows and back door open all day, DH and I have had a fan each while working and a tower fan on us for sleeping. Bring on the colder weather!

Fluffy I'm about to start my Coo cross stitch. Where on earth did you begin? I've never done one with almost no solid blocks of colour to start from! 🤯
