Totally opposite to my short, fierce, traumatic and ultimately futile labour / pushing which ended in EMCS, resuscitation and SCBU, 70!

Happy Rudy Day!!

Sorry, work has been mad again. I think I'll look at other cottages to rent for Christmas as todays task.

Someone was thinking of fat quarter uses for a baby - little storage boxes for bits and bobs in nursery, a couple of bibs, the front side of some burp cloths? I've been using youtube tutorials for the fabric storage boxes recently, and I'll have a look for the pdf of the pattern and instructions for burp cloths. (it will possibly not be until tonight though).

Lovely sunshine today but due to change tomorrow in the day, so DH went to local M&S last night for BBQ food for tonight, but he's also up the walls with work. I have a slight lull now for a couple of hours (not a stop, but a breathing space) so I will go to yoga on the green outside at lunch as it's on today, and drop DD to sailing. But I have to keep pressure on others to get things back to me on project 2, and finish writing speech stuff on project 1, ready for next week. First real-life scouts meeting in months is next weekend, and I will head straight for the motorway to drive down to see DPs and DMIL after that (DH and DD will go the night before but I'd already organised the meeting before the rules were changed).

Happy Birthing Day 70s, and Happy Birthday to DD!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/06/2020 12:18

It was me looking for uses for fat quarters Biddy but not for a baby. DD2 is 21 Grin. Fabric storage boxes sound right up her street though.

BiddyPop · 25/06/2020 12:58

See this is what happens when I skim the thread!! I could have sworn it said Winnie the Pooh and ...oh...dear...sorry to DD2 Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 25/06/2020 13:03

This is the temperature in the bedroom where I have my desk. Dying.

I'm lolling on my sofa 🥵 poor WreckCat hasn't moved from the bathroom floor.

Happy birthday to your dd 70

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2020 13:26

I gave DD the tower fan- she usually has her window open an inch (on the lock) because the cats like to go into her room.
Last night one of the neighbour cats was peering in through her window , it pootles along our extension roof .
I think it would be in the window given half a chance but my own cats would be ver' ver' judgey about that state of affairs .

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/06/2020 13:30

It did say Winnie the Pooh Biddy. Easy assumption that it was for a little one Grin

This is the temperature in my bedroom. I've got all the windows open as wide as they'll go and a fan going. My lot open windows very reluctantly - to keep the creepy crawlies out I believe.

The car said 20 degrees when I dropped DD to sailing an hour ago but the garden felt warmer. Luckily the spare bedroom, aka my office, faces North so is cooler but all windows and doors open elsewhere around the house, and curtains closed in our south facing bedroom.

WreckTangled · 25/06/2020 14:53

It's gone down to 32° here. Was 33 Grin

KVlovesWinter · 25/06/2020 15:02

Afternoon

It's 24 degrees here today much better than the 28 degrees we had yesterday. It was just too hot. Tomorrow is meant to be much cooler here.

For Rudolph day here we are going to watch a Christmas film later on with milkshakes and home made shortbread

If it's not too hot inside will hopefully do some cross stitch tonight 😁

WreckTangled · 25/06/2020 15:10

I wish it wasn't hot inside here 😩 ds didn't go to sleep until gone 10 last night he only dropped off once I put his duvet over him 🥵 had to take it off again once he'd gone. I'm going to let them stay up tonight until they're so tired they can't wait any longer Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/06/2020 19:15

29 degrees in our bedroom, I think I am mostly sweat at this point! I have bought this cross stitch though so very excited :)

I love that cross stitch!

We've just got home and it's 29° in our sitting room. Hotter upstairs Sad had a lovely swim and bbq at my parents though.

Mrsmadevans · 25/06/2020 22:11

It's cooled right down here to 16 degrees outside now but 84% humidity, still boiling in the house 🥵

We sat with the fans on and watched national lampoons Christmas vacation, so looking forward to the frosty, cool winter mornings

Most that cross stitch is lovely, so festive 🎄

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 01:25

I'm so bloody hot. It's apparently 16° here too. Shame the house hasn't dropped in temperature.

I need to go back to sleep but it's hard!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/06/2020 02:01

Not sure how hot it is here but all the office windows are open, only snag is there are quite alot of large flappy insects in here now, which I am not so keen on.

WreckTangled · 26/06/2020 06:49

I'm hot too. It's only dropped to 19° here and we're set for another warm sunny day. Not as hot as yesterday though.

I'm going to pick up the food shopping and pop into town as I need to go into the bank. Not looking forward to it hopefully it'll be quiet...

KVlovesWinter · 26/06/2020 06:56

Morning

It's quite cool here this morning, blue sky and sun but it's meant to be cloudy for the rest of the day.
Did not sleep well last night was just too hot.

Managed to do a little bit more of my cross stitch before giving up and going to sleep 😀

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/06/2020 07:19

Cross stitch is coming along nicely KLove :)

So today is meant to be 22 degrees which is much better but the house is still very hot. DS is still asleep though! I can't remember the last time he slept past 7!!!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/06/2020 07:19

That afternoon tea looks great Mrs!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 07:21

I booked tickets for Speke Hall overnight. They seem to go quick in the middle of the night! 😂

I have a headache as I was so hot all night. And I was too tired to get up to water the allotment! But our forecast is 50% for rain this morning, so maybe it's not a bad thing!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2020 07:22

Yes, Mrs, that tea looks amazing! Great value. My parents might like that. I'll have to investigate.

Why, booo to big flappy insects!
