Oh Wreck that's so sad. Is there anything else similar that you could do? Was it only a particular date you wanted?

WreckTangled · 24/06/2020 11:30

There aren't any dates left apart from some weekdays and we wouldn't be able to get there with school etc Never mind. This year is a write off really.

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2020 15:20

Woolly lovely socks well done on finishing them !
Fluffy Dh had a fitbit for Father's day he is doing exactly the same as your Dd Grin
Wreck that is so disappointing love , anywhere else you can think of before the tickets go too?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/06/2020 18:26

Hello! Busy day here. Up early to water the allotment, then wrestling with technology trying to get connected to work online, then a busy day after having yesterday off.

That's a shame re Kew, Wreck. I saw it mentioned elsewhere the other day but didn't think to mention it. Sorry. 😢

It's not been that hot here today. Maybe tomorrow!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/06/2020 18:30

Oh no wreck :(

I am officially melting which means that my brain switches to Christmas mode. Going to research Christmas cross stitches to buy tomorrow :)

WreckTangled · 24/06/2020 18:31

It's still 31° here. Our house is boiling.

Mrs not that I can think of. Oh well.

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2020 19:01

That's a bgr Wreck we will all have to think of somewhere for you love Smile

WreckTangled · 24/06/2020 19:11

Thanks Mrs. We've done Harry Potter world. We can't skate due to mobility issues unfortunately. I know Kew has a sister gardens (Wakehurst) so am going to keep an eye on that in case they do something similar. If not it'll be Longleat Festival of Lights maybe.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/06/2020 19:15

Christmas at Dunham Massey went on sale in early June last year. Probably delayed by COVID-19 this year. I might buy some - or look at Lowther - in case the train can't happen.

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2020 19:22

Wreck it seems as if there will be lots on but you have to think outside the box like you did then about Wakehurst. On the other hand have you got any days off from school on a Friday ? So you can still go to Kew .

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2020 19:29

They do have weekend tickets earlier in end of Nov for families. It is very good value . I would love to go it looks gorgeous

WreckTangled · 24/06/2020 19:33

The trouble with November is that the last weekend is ds' birthday so I don't want to take it up with a Christmas trip as I don't think that's fair. I considered a Friday but didn't fancy battling with the traffic....

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2020 19:36

Yes it is difficult l know Smile. It looks wonderful . l am off to look for some pics of it at Christmas and the places Fluffy said Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/06/2020 21:29

In years gone by I've taken my DC to Kew and The Harry Potter Experience . (We're not huge HP fans but the whole thing was really well presented though we weren't awewsd by it because we didn't really know all the characters )

DD and I braved Bluewater today - it wasn't busy , there was SD in place . I even let her off a trip round M&S Xmas Grin because I'm decent .

I made a fruitcake and I've marzipanned it (though I;m not impressed with the marzipan, it's like Play-doh. I usually make the Delia almond paste , this is a pack I bouht in Dec - BBD is Feb21 so well in date )
made some little iced fairycakes too.

Pancakes for breakfast tomorrow .

Six month time willl be Christmas Eve !

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/06/2020 21:59

Happy birthday to your DD for tomorrow 70. It's her 18th isn't it? Hope it's a good one.

I didn't resist the Lisa Angel sale today. I've got beautiful soft beanie hats for the DDs and personalised glasses cases. The glasses cases weren't in the sale but I did google for a discount code and got 20% off and I qualified for free delivery.

I also bought some ace socks for DS with electric guitars on - he's got the Queen ones too and I got some snowman boxers from the MandM sale too.

It's all starting to come together. 🎄

NerosFiddle · 24/06/2020 22:33

Evening.

This time 6 months...

Not to wish my life away but I'd love it to be October already and for this all to be a distant memory.

I think it's already been mentioned but I have heard good things about Longleat at Christmas.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/06/2020 23:03

First time in a few nights that I've done cross stitch. It's coming on nicely!

Happy birthday for tomorrow to your DD, 70!

Neros, I want it to be October so that we can order our Booths' Christmas food!

Happy birthday 70 DD Cake

I am so hoping the Autumn sees a return to normality and not a second wave. I so want to be waking up in six months time in our holiday booking at Ribby Hall with the ILs.

What will people be doing for Rudolph Day? I think I will buy a Christmas cross stitch. Might work out the budget for present buying too.

WreckTangled · 25/06/2020 07:01

I got bitten by something yesterday and I've woken up to what looks like scratches all over my leg and swelling round them all. They're not like human scratches so I haven't done it in my sleep. It's so weird.

That's pretty weird, Wreck! I'd be rubbing tea tree oil liberally over that!

It's already really warm here. I've been and watered the allotment which is populated by triffids. The recent rain has made everything explode! The beetroot are coming on really well and the seedlings I transplanted a teeny bit early are also growing nicely.

We're replacing the front fence of plot 1 this weekend and then my celery (donated by a guy with a plot just up from me) can go in. DH is a trampled of all things (even if they're obvious and he's been told not to) so they can't go in til it's done. I'll do the posts if I have to, to get it going!

I don't know about Rudolph Day. I'm very tempted by another cross stitch!

Have a lovely day, 70.

NerosFiddle · 25/06/2020 08:12

Happy Rudolph day!

Wreck do you have piriton? And I'd rub a bit of antiseptic on it.

Happy birthday to you dd 70.

Most do you go to Ribby hall over Christmas? Sounds lovely.

Fluffy you're up and at it early. I'm still sitting in my pjs.

FireflyGirl · 25/06/2020 08:38

I'm also hoping there's no second wave! DH is still very worried, so we still haven't left the house apart from the allotment, DMIL's, my appointments, and the beach very early one Sunday.

I'm dying to just go somewhere!! Even Morrisons will do me!

Wreck I'd be rubbing some Savlon on - that looks like my arms when I've been wading through the raspberries.

Happy birthday 70DD. What a lovely day for her!

I bought some felt reindeer from the Works, so my Rudolph Day activity is going to be to start embroidering them with peoples' names to use as gift tags. But first I need to go dig out weeds at the allotment, and see what has survived the pigeon onslaught - little feckers have had the tops off all my sunflowers!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2020 08:44

Morning Xmas Grin Thank You for the Birthday Girl Wishes .

DD is still in bed , I managed to place her presents on her bed this morning . I got a lovely storage box from TKMaxx and some satin ribbon (she uses the boxes for storage) .
Main present is straighteners ( her request) then I filled the box with small make-up/skincare/PJ shorts set/
The cats bought her a tiny teddy bear (usually at Christmas I find a tiny teddy )

Pizza tonight Xmas Grin

18 years ago I would be at the "Look I've changed my mind now , let me get my coat" stage .
She was a long , uneventful labour until about 9am they ruptured the waters (forewaters had ruptured 4 days previously ) , then she arrived less than 30 minutes later .

I think I should be getting the presents , I did all the hard work Xmas Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/06/2020 08:49

Have never been before Nero but booked from 23-27 Dec this year in a big house and it will be us, PILs, SIL and DP and BIL.

I agree 70 we mothers should be presented with gifts on our DCs birthdays!
