Sorry I have been AWOL! Gorgeous day here today so we got out the paddling pool :) DS had a fab day at nursery yesterday, I can't believe how emotional I got knowing he was playing with another child for the first time in 3 months!

WreckTangled · 16/06/2020 21:12

It's been really hot here today. I've been in the office, had my antibody test, collect my prescription, popped into the toy shop after hours to make up dds balloons and am finally sitting down. Dh has cut ds' hair too. So tired. Looks like rain for the next few days then really hot next week.

Mrsmadevans · 16/06/2020 22:40

Just watching The Salisbury Poisonings , we recorded it and have enjoyed it Smile
Didn't go shopping today , came home and watched 3 whole Coronavirus viedos by Dr John Campbell , l watch everything he does Grin
@WreckTangled you have had a busy day love , l hope your antibody test comes back that you have had it Smile
Most it had rained like hell here ! We are 20 miles away Grin
Good luck with the Christmas cake @BiddyPop Smile
@NoWordForFluffy that is a very generous point system , l will have to try to get to grips with it Hmm
@FireflyGirl your Ds sounds lovely , we always cremate meat here Grin

Morning!

We had thunder and loads of rain last night. Wooooo! The allotment and weeds will be happy! It sounds dry now though, but our forecast is all over the place right now, so I'm not sure if it'll last.

I need to book wetlands tickets today. They go on sale at 9am. The kids want to go back. I think they're enjoying being allowed out somewhere!

Wreck, happy birthday to your DD! 🎂

Morning.

It was forecast thunder and lightning last night but I didn't hear anything. It's to be another overcast day today but not to rain.

Mrs I've decided again buying the bed in Argos. My local furniture shop is having a big sale in the next few weeks and it might work out better value.

Fluffy good luck with the tickets.

Biddy I know you are a family of sailors, but do you go to the maritime festival in Derry? It's been postponed for this year but they're trying. To make it even bigger for next year.

I have to collect ds induction pack today for starting school. They don't know when he'll be able to start though.

Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 11:22

Morning everyone 😀
I am off to see to the two of them 🤪🙄
Nero sale sounds promising 🤗
Wreck 🎉🎈🎂🎁🍰🧁🥳🕯️ happy birthday to your DD 😀
Fluffy DH tells me we need the rain badly so l am told😂
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

BiddyPop · 17/06/2020 12:03

Neros that sounds interesting, we hadn't been to it before, but will look at it for next year. We're not really a family of sailors though - DD is definitely a sailor and I get wet on the water, but DH doesn't do sail power at all (and not much engine power either tbh). I'm more rowing than sailing - but we just received delivery of the 2nd boat in our "fleet" this morning, as DH bought a laser dinghy for DD and I to share (1 sailing at a time) - she needs a larger boat very very soon as she's growing so fast, and I do want to get beyond bare beginner status. We'll sell DD's current topper dinghy though, maybe this year or maybe after the World Championships and British Nationals are both in Ireland next year.

Thanks MrsMad about the baking, but that won't happen for another couple of months at least. Enjoy your visiting. I forgot about that Salsbury documentary, and had meant to watch it.

Fluffy I woke to a torrential downpour at 4:30 this morning, that was still going on at 8, but had stopped by 9. But there was a report yesterday that, despite the rain over the past 10 days, the number of water sources in drought here has gone up from 27 to 36, and those in danger of drought up from 50 to 57 since the hosepipe ban started, so they won't be lifting it yet.

Wreck that sounds like a very busy and productive day you had, hope its slightly quieter today.

Most that's lovely that DS enjoyed nursery, is he getting back FT or just a day here and there?

Better go - lots of calls yet to make.....

Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 12:27

Those boats sound lovelyBiddy am singing life on the ocean wave atm 🤪😂
Salisbury poisonings was good , l would prefer a proper documentary tbh but it was good
Great news re the steroid trial for Coronavirus 🤗
Something good for a change 👍😀

FireflyGirl · 17/06/2020 15:22

Hope your DD has a lovely day, Wreck.

DH is waiting for his antibody test (hasn't been public-facing since lockdown, so not high on the priority list).

His friend who is a paramedic tested positive for antibodies. Apparently the only symptoms he had was loss of smell for a week.

DH reckons we'll have antibodies. He thinks I had the virus early on, as I had cough at the beginning of March. It wasn't constant or dry like the adverts said, though, so I didn't think anything of it.

Neros you might find something you like better more locally, anyway. Have they said your DS will be starting in September? I wondered if they might delay new starters for a while. But you might be different to here, anyway.

Pussycatinboots · 17/06/2020 15:33

Blush sorry for being AWOL
Mrs That programme about the Salisbury poisonings - why do I always read it as "Sainsbury Poisonings" Shock

We've rain and thunder here again - fluffy how's ya butts? Grin

Nero make sure it's a nice bouncy bed Wink it'll double as a trampoline.

Firefly I am also an incinerator of food Grin although I can now boil water without burning it HaloGrin

FireflyGirl · 17/06/2020 15:42

boots I should have known he'd be a terrible cook. He burnt the pasta when cooking for me on our third date. He plied me with strawberry daiquiris first - that was probably why Wink

Pussycatinboots · 17/06/2020 15:44

ah, a man who is almost as good in the kitchen as me Grin

I take it he hasn't set fire to anything yet? or is it a work in progress...

NoWordForFluffy · 17/06/2020 16:24

You need to ask @whydoesitalwayshappentome about cooking / setting fire to things!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 16:47

Boot lovely to see you where has tha been since l saw thee ? Grin
I have even written it as Sainsbury poisonings Grin
Firefly wouldn't it be wonderful if you were immune ! Flowers
Very interesting videos on YT re Sweden Dr John Campbell, apparently they have been giving the care home inmates Morphine & Midazelam to medicate them , ie kill them in other words ! This is anyone over 60 !
I thought Sweden were a very healthy wealthy caring country , l can't believe what l am seeing! Hmm Shock

WreckTangled · 17/06/2020 16:47

We're getting dominos for dinner. They're not doing collection though and they don't deliver here to have had to get it delivered to a friend who's dropping it off

Fire it'll be interesting to get the antibody results for sure.

Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 17:01

Have a lovely Dd birthday evening Wreck Dominos sounds delish and what a lovely friend to deliver it to you bless Flowers

FireflyGirl · 17/06/2020 17:20

That's the sort of friend we could all do with, Wreck. Hope your DD enjoys her birthday tea 🎂

We need the story now, why Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 17/06/2020 17:30

It's not a singular story, Firefly! 😂😂

I've been reading it as 'Sainsbury's poisonings' too! Maybe those Nectar points aren't worth it after all! 🤔

Wreck, enjoy the pizza and its convoluted delivery to you! We're on Papa John's for DD next week. 🍕

Boots, my butts are almost full (though I've been assisting a bit emptying receptacles into them which have also caught water)! I think there's still a blockage somewhere as they're not filling like they should.

We had a massive storm and accompanying monsoon this afternoon. It's brightening now though.

OP posts:
Pussycatinboots · 17/06/2020 17:46

it's still rumbling and flashing, but there's no rain at the mo.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/06/2020 17:53

Good evening folks, hope you are all ok. Nice to see you again Boots. Now my cooking prowess is renowned. Some of my edited highlights are: setting fire to a jacket potato in the microwave, I set fire to a tea towel on the hob, I was baking my 40th birthday cake a few years ago and the electric whisk caught fire and recently I was melting chocolate in the microwave and set fire to it.

Anyone who would like to hire me for catering at parties I am available at a good rate!!! 😂

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/06/2020 17:57

Good to see you boots :)

He is just going two days a week for now Biddy :) Today was his second day and he skipped in this morning. Had a call from his new school as well and he has been invited in for a short visit in July to see the place.

Torrential rain here around 5, absolutely biblical!

Enjoy your pizza wreck :)

I forgot to say congrats fire on your little girl!

Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 18:13

Grin @whydoesitalwayshappentome

Grin Most good to hear Ds was so happy today , l can envisage him skipping in happy bless him Smile
Pussycatinboots · 17/06/2020 18:24

why I once (and only the once) made a ginger cake.
When I turned it out of the loaf tin to cool it landed with such a thud - it was the same shape and density of a house brick.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/06/2020 18:39

Haha Mrs very good.

Boots I baked a Weetabix cake once that was very similar to a brick as well.

Mrsmadevans · 17/06/2020 19:20
