Congratulations Fire 💓

Biddy I see we've decided on a government. You'll have a new boss soon.

It's a nice day here. About 21 degrees. But we can't go out anywhere as I have a Tesco delivery. I've got a slot between 8- 4 for some reason.

WreckTangled · 15/06/2020 13:28

Fire how lovely!

Today is my birthday, WreckCat woke me up at 6. I've folded and put away all the washing and hung another load out, hoovered downstairs, made fluffy's cookies and eaten so many I feel sick, wrapped all of dds presents and booked my antibody test for tomorrow. Phew.

It's really warm here too.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/06/2020 13:37

That's a very productive birthday, Wreck! Happy birthday! 🎂 🍾

Congratulations, Firefly! 👶 How exciting!

Happy birthday Wreck. That is a very productive day! How's WreckCat doing?

WreckTangled · 15/06/2020 13:50

He's fine now thanks! He must have hurt himself but seems all back to normal now thankfully.

Dh is cooking us all steak tonight so that'll be nice.

NerosFiddle · 15/06/2020 14:01

Happy birthday Wreck!

BiddyPop · 15/06/2020 14:38

Thanks Neros I'd missed that news earlier - I'd better get cracking this afternoon.....

BiddyPop · 15/06/2020 14:39

Happy Birthday Wreck!!

KVlovesWinter · 15/06/2020 15:29

Afternoon!

I've got this week off work and currently sitting with Ds watching Home alone 2 while writing a Christmas recipe list.

Can anyone recommend a Christmas pudding recipe? I usually just buy one but fancy a homemade one this year.

Trying to get organised much earlier this year, the past few years have been a last minute rush in December

WreckTangled · 15/06/2020 19:01

The one night a year dh cooks

DH made tea tonight, for the first time in weeks. Nando chicken grilled on the George Foreman, rice and salad. I planned it, bought all the stuff and told him what to make. He carbonised the chicken. I cried.

KV there's usually one in the Good Food or Good Housekeeping Christmas magazines, if you have any from previous years. We don't eat it, so it's not something I've ever made.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/06/2020 20:11

Firefly congratulations ( though DH and I claim the scariest 2 words in the English language is Our Daughter Xmas Grin )

Happy Birthday Wreck ...I am trusting there is cake Cake to follow the steak dinner ?

I don't know if anyone braved the shops today ? DD Birthday is soon and I've taken leave . She wants to go to her 2nd Home (Bluewater) .
There will be OneWay Systems , queues , possibly no toilets (though I'm hoping they work round this) .

She will look glam'n'mysterious in a mask with her massive eyes, long eyelashes and great eyebrows. I'll look like Bank Robber . I just need a pair of tights on my head to complete the look !

WreckTangled · 15/06/2020 20:15

70 😂😂 have your had your antibody results yet? Yes there was cake. Might have the other quarter in a minute Grin

Fire oh no! That sort of thing would have made me cry when pregnant although I quite like cremated chicken (and sausages).

Fluffy it's a Jamie Oliver 5 ingredients recipe.

FireflyGirl · 15/06/2020 20:24

Wreck I couldn't cut into it with a steak knife!!

70 I haven't been out for months, and it'll be at least the end of the month before I go out. There have been photos popping up in my news feed, and I would be wary because people weren't social distancing in the queues outside.

Maybe have a look at your local newspaper/Facebook reports and see what today was like.

KVlovesWinter · 15/06/2020 20:59

Firefly thank you, think I have some old magazines around somewhere. I always make a Mary Berry cake but never attempted a pudding.

70 I think after seeing photos of the queues at shops today it will be a while before I go, the lack of social distancing is very worrying.

Ds is playing a game on the computer so I'm about to watch an old Call the midwife Christmas special was on tv last night

Mrsmadevans · 15/06/2020 21:08

Morning!

I keep waking up early for no reason. It's very annoying!

It was lovely here too yesterday; stunning day (of what I saw from my bedroom!).

Firefly, how did your DH do such a bad job? Poor you!

70, loving the image of you and your DD in masks! She's 25th June isn't she? This thread has loads of June birthdays in it! My DD is 7 next week.

I think my Christmas pudding last year was Mary Berry. It's not been eaten yet! Xmas Grin

Back to Nectar points!

This is our points from today (our shopping isn't usually this much; the in laws have a fair bit on it, the bonus points are on our stuff though).

Morning!

I think our Christmas pudding may end up the same way as yours, we've not long finished the Christmas cake.

It really is annoying waking up early, I'm off work this week and wanted a nice lie in but have been awake since 6:45.

The weather here has not been good the past week or so it's grey and dull again. It's quite warm though so not all bad

Mrsmadevans · 16/06/2020 09:26

Morning 🌞
Off to Mum's in a bit
@NoWordForFluffy l still am not understanding Nectar points one bit lol 😂
Very hot & muggy here last night , no air , we need a massive thunderstorm to clear it up 🤪🤯
Hope everyone is feeling fine and dandy 😘
See you LTR , after seeing to the Dragon aka Mum😀

NerosFiddle · 16/06/2020 11:30

Morning.

Very overcast here but the forecast has said no rain all day so I've put a wash out.

I've booked a Sainsbury's shop for Saturday so I should start to build up points then. I need to buy dd a new bed so I might get it in Argos and get some points there.

FireflyGirl · 16/06/2020 11:38

DS woke up at 6.30, and hasn't stopped talking at me yet! Send help...

I got my revenge by trimming his fringe and sideburns. I won't be taking up hairdressing any time soon...but he can see now, at least! It's so thick, I took loads off the top as well, and you can't even tell!

Fluffy he put the chicken on the griddle too soon, so it was ready before the rest of the meal. He switched the George Foreman off, but didn't take the chicken out Hmm

He is scared of getting food poisoning, so always overcooks meat, and always questions me about using food when it's been open longer than the recommendation/is past its best before. I point out that we've been together 11 years, I do 99% of the cooking and we've never had food poisoning yet!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/06/2020 14:07

Your DS is twinned with mine, Firefly! He rarely draws breath. MiL said how well his speech has come on since being off (he had 3 years of speech therapy) and I responded that it's because he hasn't drawn breath since he left school. 😂😂

The poor chicken. Cremated! Your DH needs cookery lessons or CBT (ironic, given his job!).

Neros, we've had rain / drizzle and now its a cloud / sun battle! Our washing is going out overnight as we don't quite have a full load.

Mrs, the 820 points are all bonus points from buying a load of items particular to me with bonus points attached (eggs, satsumas, milk, red pepper etc) and are worth £4.10.

Enjoy your day!

BiddyPop · 16/06/2020 14:14

Afternoon all,
I woke to rain, it got relatively nice (enough that the yoga class went ahead on the green outside), but is now cloudy and threatening rain again. Washing is out but DD is under strict instructions to keep an eye and take it in if/when it starts to rain (it's mostly her clothes and sailing gear, in fairness!).

I keep saying that "this will be the year I make a Christmas cake/pudding" and not doing it. DM still makes a small pudding for us most years, and DMIL used to make a cake until DH told her not to as he doesn't like it. But while I have done turkey dinners, I have never, in 20 years of marriage, made either a cake or pudding for our own Christmas.....I must raid DM's recipe book when I am home soon cos her Christmas cake is good and would last...

Enjoy the shopping MrsMad and good luck finding the beds you want Neros
