Thanks for all the talk about Nectar points. We have a weekly Sainsburys delivery but no nectar card so have sorted that out :)

WreckTangled · 13/06/2020 07:56

I put this weeks shop into Sainsbury's and it was £25 more expensive so it's obviously not great for what we buy as a family.

Dd is going to a friends this morning (in the garden) so ds and I are going to another friends. Then this afternoon my friend is coming over to bring mine and dds birthday presents. I'm aching lots from my workout yesterday.

Morning!

Wreck, it must definitely depend on what you're buying as I've never had that kind of discrepancy (I've had it dearer due to Sainsbury’s veg being sold in bigger packs, and there are some things which are more expensive, but I balance this against the Nectar points). I think not living rurally helps too as we can just whizz to Sainsbury's / Tesco / Aldi / Asda / Morrison's in a few minutes. Our shop also isn't so big that there could be that difference!

What we have found is that the quality of Tesco veg and fruit has gone down recently. Their apples were all fluffy. 🤮

Most, no Nectar Card?! 😱😱 At least it's rectified now. You need to get a linked card for DH as he will get his own offers too. And on double up you can both cash points in!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 13/06/2020 10:44

Morning.

Also just linked up my nectar card there. I do most of my shopping with Tesco and I've only earned £30 in Clubcard points plus get petrol there sometimes. I try and save them until Christmas to lighten the load. I'll have to work out how the double points work for nectar at Christmas.

Dd was up at 5 this morning needing the toilet. I have drank so much caffeine this week that my heart has been playing up today. I had to take an extra beta blocker to control my AF.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2020 15:29

Don't forget to get the Nectar app so you can load your bonus points every week too.

That's not good re the heart, Neros. I hope it calms down for you.

Joining the chat, have read it every year, this year feel like Christmas is even more something to look forward too.

We had a socially distant visit to my mum today, haven't seen her for 3 months. My DS was a bit anxious about it, but was very happy to see his nana.

Where does everyone buy their crossstitch from? Have done it before and would be a calming hobby to take up again!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2020 19:08

Hi Groot!

I get cross stitch from:

eBay
Amazon
Very Crafty - WELCOME20 for 10% off
Lovecrafts - this link for 15% off (I also get 15% off if you buy anything).

I've not seen my parents since February. Hopefully we can go next month, but hotels need to open first.

OP posts:
ILoveGroot · 13/06/2020 20:11

Thanks NoWordForFluffy, I'll check them out.

That's really tough, 🤞 hotels open so you can see your parents.

FireflyGirl · 13/06/2020 22:49

You could always pitch a tent in their garden, Fluffy Wink

DMIL is a single adult household, so we're going round tomorrow. DS can have his first physical contact with someone other than me or DH in 3 months!

Mrsmadevans · 13/06/2020 22:54

Been really busy today so not sat down for 2 mins, hope everyone is ok Smile
Have been to Morrisons and had a lot of their offers which are excellent atm. Wanted the Prosecco & Pizza offer but it is only online Fluffy
Quiet here today , seems lots of ppl busy this weekend, have a good night everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2020 23:58

I didn't know it was only online, Mrs. I only bothered as they gave me a free delivery pass. What are the great deals? I might get another delivery!

Firefly, I'm really not a happy camper. 😂 Not even in my parents' garden.

I got stung by nettles today (my own fault; I pulled them out then caught my leg with them!). My legs are still tingling.

The cross stitch is coming on. I've discovered that doing one colour across squares is quicker than finishing each square then moving on. Life hack! 🙄🤣

So..how do I get the Bonus Points on Nectar/
Back in Pre-Covid days , I'd get a wedge of paper vouchers ( Triple Points on £120 spend or 70 Points if I but carrots or something)

Online , the only Coupon Wallet bonus I have now is 90p on a sub.
And my reciept shows 112 points on a £112 shop.

Online delivery is literally a life saver but I do miss physical shops

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/06/2020 06:49

Welcome Groot :)

Cross stitch is coming along fab fluffy. Think I might start my elephant today and have a rest from the fox.

Can hear rain against the Velux window in the bathroom, such a soothing sound. Hope it dries up soon though as we had plans for a picnic and walk at lunchtime!

Morning!

Most, we had a monsoon at 7pm followed by thunder at 9pm with hail! The thunder rumbled on for a couple of hours with spitting rain but the ground was drying well when I came to bed.

70, you need the Nectar app. And if you have the old app you need to delete it and get the new one (www.nectar.com/nectar-app). You'll be emailed weekly bonuses on the stuff you buy every week. Note: don't forget to save the offers; it's not automatic. Like I said, we got an extra £5 in one shop the other week (£11 over 3 shops). I think it's been running for most of this year.

We also have Sainsbury's Bank home and life insurance, so our shopping (not bonus) points are tripled each month.

I might finish the cross stitch this week (I'm not doing anything in the middle until I know the name in case it needs shifting round, not even the little decorative bits). I'm sure that will only take a night to do though.

It's wetland day today. It's going to be odd going somewhere with other people there!

WreckTangled · 14/06/2020 08:26

Morning. Not much going on here today except I can't find WreckCat.

Bil has invited us to theirs for a bbq next weekend. I'm annoyed because when he asked DH, dh said 'I'll ask Wreck' and now all the blame will be on me for not going. They've got a tiny garden and there would be three different households there and ten people. Last week dh was berating them for breaking the rules and now he says 'well everyone else is doing it' HmmAngry ffs.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/06/2020 08:38

Hope wreckcat makes an appearance soon!!!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/06/2020 10:21

Wreckcat must've picked up on a potential visit to the V.E.T about his legs. On the plus side, if you can't find him, hopefully that means he's jumping now.

It's weird weather today. The sunshine isn't quite burning through but it's dry for now (rain forecast later). It's really warm and muggy.

Hi everyone, hoping it's okay to join the thread.
I've just had my new Christmas organiser delivered so currently reading through the board making lists. The weather has been pretty miserable the last week or so and have decided it's the perfect time to start the Christmas lists, with everything going on it's been a great mood changer.
I'm loving all the cross stitches I'm thinking of doing some to give as gifts

NoWordForFluffy · 14/06/2020 16:57

Oh god. Is there a cross stitch purchasing version of Alcoholics Anonymous?! I just bought another John Clayton one! 🙈😂

BiddyPop · 14/06/2020 19:02

Evening all,
I’m loving all the cross stitching going on!! I had the sewing machine out for a couple of hours but I only finished the household repairs needed - the project I was working on took longer than I expected and the rest of the family were getting ravenous so I needed to clear the table and feed them.

We have had a fair amount of rain over the past few days so butt is full and another large bucket and the watering can, and the beds and pots got a good drenching too. But there was some sunshine this morning so we got out for a decent walk.

Going to watch countryfile now, to get the forecast for the week, and try for a decent sleep tonight.

Mrsmadevans · 14/06/2020 23:46

Biddy Countryfile was lovely tonight with the Bulls & the horses and the poor Suffolk Punch Mare losing her foal bless her I thought it was so sad. I hope they manage to save them they are beautiful horses.

Morning!

It was quiet yesterday. I hope everyone is OK.

We had a rainstorm for about 10 minutes last night. Not a huge amount of rain, but enough - on top of all the recent rain - to mean that I don't need to go and water the allotment today. Yay!

Countryfile is at an awkward time for us as it's when the kids go to bed. I used to love watching it, but haven't for ages.

Mrs, we watched an old episode of The Repair Shop on Quest last night. Just lovely!

We had a lovely time at the wetlands yesterday. DS was a bit overwhelmed with being able to go somewhere which wasn't home, essentially! But he wants to go again, so I'll book on Weds for the last weekend in June.

I had to use the trick I used when he was a baby last night when he wouldn't go to sleep: stroking his nose! He loved it and did go to sleep, bless him.

OP posts:
BiddyPop · 15/06/2020 10:24

Countryfile was lovely, wasn't it MrsMad. I particularly liked the sheepdog training one! Grin And yes, the poor mare.

Fluffy yay for rain!! It looks like plenty of chances for thundery showers most of this week in different parts of both UK and Ireland, so hopefully there will be enough to give you a few days break from the watering.

70s I'm like you, prefer the paper vouchers, but it seems like most are moving towards apps these days.

Another workday here, lovely sunshine outside but hormonal DD was rowing with everyone this morning so DH and I are both in bad moods and I have to make progress after a non-productive few days last week, I just couldn't get my brain in gear, but I have a list this morning and will get stuck in!!

FireflyGirl · 15/06/2020 13:09

It was gloriously sunny and warm here yesterday. Overcast today, but still warm.

I sneaked some peanut m&ms to enjoy in my bath last night, and lost a filling Hmm My dentist suggested doing a temporary filling myself and they'll fit me in when the risk level drops, probably after baby.

Speaking of - I had my 20-week scan today. All healthy, and BabyFirefly#2 is a girl Grin
