Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Nero looks wonderful, what a lovely holiday 😀👏

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/05/2020 12:38

Thanks Mrs. 😘

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/05/2020 13:30

We are thinking about Ribby Hall for Christmas which looks like a smaller (and cheaper) Centre Parcs and is close to the ILs who will be joining us :)

CrazyBaubles · 13/05/2020 13:43

Fluffy we are assuming our summer holiday is cancelled (was supposed to be Italy). I've also missed my London weekend for The Cursed Child so I'm pinning my hopes on going away at Christmas (we have flights to Prague booked for Boxing Day) 🤞🏼

why I get it. I used to work in a call centre and it made me not want to talk to anyone towards the end of the week.

It a very frustrating day here. MrsMad has anything changed for your DDs house purchase?
Our mortgage offer has been rescinded - they will now only give us a mortgage if we can provide a 30% deposit! Considering the house prices where we're looking, that means we now need approx £45-50k rather than £14-18k 😱
We were ready to buy and were looking at houses before lockdown and it's been such a long slog to get here and now we're further away from owning than we were when we started saving!
Obviously the hope is that the market will open back up and the banks will go back to offering 90% mortgages but who knows if / when that'll happen therefore We're very deflated and the mood in the Bauble house is completely flat.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/05/2020 14:19

Oh no Crazy what bad news that is :( Hopefully things stabilise soon.

Good to see you back why :)

NerosFiddle · 13/05/2020 15:26

That's awful news crazy. But if I was a betting person I'd say house prices will also fall in the next year.

Most I've never heard of Ribby Hall but it looks lovely. If I lived closer I would definitely be going.

Why I hope you are ok Thanks

Mrs it is a lovely holiday. I kind of have my heart set on it now but everything is so up in the air at the minute.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/05/2020 16:15

Crazy that is such a shame. I hope things improve once the market starts moving properly. Thanks Most and Nero. I am OK more or less just sometimes I could hide under my duvet for a while I reckon.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/05/2020 17:20

Crazy, I'm sorry about that. What a nightmare. Is it worth talking to a broker to see if someone else will help?

Most, Ribby Hall is near me. I've heard good things about it.

My head is mashed today. I've done a long, detailed statement, needing a 90 minute call to my client. Then the phone didn't stop all day. Knackered.

Well it is booked, put it on the Amex so we know we will get the money back if it can't go ahead due to Covid. All the in laws have agreed to come so DS will have the best time.

Try and have a relaxing evening fluffy!

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/05/2020 18:47

most I had a fabulous weekend at Ruby with my SILs as a 50th birthday present from them. 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾 We went in November and it was just gearing up for Christmas. Lots of twinkly fairy lights. The spa was fab if you can get a bit of time to visit and the accommodation was lovely.

why I'm only talking to the same 4 people and the Hermes delivery man and I don't feel very chatty. You have my sympathy.

Crazy hopefully once this crisis has passed lenders will go back to offering 90% mortgages. It's the 1st time buyers that keep refreshing the housing market so if they can't get on the ladder then the market will stagnate and something will have to happen to kickstart it.

Did I tell you all I've bought my first Christmas present? A pair of Queen themed socks for DS. All the birthdays have happened in this house so apart from Father's Day and our wedding anniversary there is nothing left to plan so full steam ahead 🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/05/2020 18:48

Ruby should be Ribby 🤦🏻‍♀️ flipping autocorrect.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/05/2020 19:01

Ah fab Woolly it's always good to hear from someone who has been :) I'm sure we can bribe the ILs to watch DS while we go to the spa.

FireflyGirl · 13/05/2020 19:03

Looks amazing, most.

I hope everything comes together for yours, Neros.

Crazy I'm so sorry your mortgage offer has been withdrawn. I'm hoping that the house prices drop, and you get a mortgage offer with your original deposit at a better rate 🤞

Bath and chill is definitely in order tonight, Fluffy.

Flowers why

Mrsmadevans · 13/05/2020 19:27

Fluffy have a chill, put your feet up love you are on the go all the time Flowers
Crazy I'm so sorry your mortgage offer has been withdrawn. I think the houses will drop hopefully & you may be better off waiting don't despair, do as Fluffy says and go to a mortgage broker Flowers
Dd2 house is on hold atm. Her mortgage is sorted till Dec thank God Hmm

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/05/2020 20:37

Woolly that is still quite a bit of chatting if it is like this house.

pussycatinboots · 13/05/2020 21:34

fluffy love that coo.
Crazy ah, mate. that's 💩 . I guess the banks are expecting prices to drop by quite a lot. Time to shop around and see what other lenders have to offer?

WreckTangled · 14/05/2020 06:55

Chilly here this morning; the heatings clicked on. Sunny though. Next week is going to get up to 24° bet it rains all half term after that Hmm

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/05/2020 07:05

The coo looks great fluffy!

It's supposed to start warming up here from today. Going to get my peas and sweetcorn into the ground this weekend.

Most how is grandad doing m'dear ? It's a gorgeous day here the sort of day we would have gone to Goldcliff and Tredegar house 😍 ❤️ love Tredegar house am missing it so much 😭
Hey ho, no point in dwelling. Just keep going.
Have a great day everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 14/05/2020 08:20

Most, my sweetcorn are almost as insane as my runner beans! As soon as I potted them on they shot up!

We've had the heating on timer for an hour either end of the day during the cold snap. I've just turned it off though as we're meant to be warming up now.

I can't wait to get all of my plants in the ground. Tomorrow afternoon! 😁

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/05/2020 08:24

Going to call the hospital ward today Mrs and see if I can talk to him :) I miss Tredegar House too :( And Cwmbran Boating Lake :(

The night temps look consistently high here from Sunday so going to start hardening off my tomatoes, chillies and peppers. Can't wait until they are off my windowsill to be honest.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/05/2020 08:35

All of mine have been in the unheated greenhouse, Most, so I think they're hardened after the last few nights!

It gets a bit much having them hang around. 😂
