We have appointments in the holidays, Woolly and no official cancellation, but I'm also assuming they're closed!

This town is almost-flourless. God knows why!

She does have another wobbly tooth, and it's the 1st one that became wobbly, she's holding onto it for dear life Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 28/03/2020 20:52

Fluffy I've just seen on another thread about contacting business bakeries to see if they have flour that they need to pass on from unfulfilled contracts. I don't know if that would be of any use to you.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/03/2020 21:00

That's an idea, Woolly. We've actually got a bakery round the corner (and DH's uncle works there!).

PJMasksGhekko · 28/03/2020 21:53

That's a great idea!!

FireflyGirl · 28/03/2020 21:56

A lot of the wholesale suppliers around here are now selling and delivering to individuals. Same as everything, it's a doorstep drop, but we got a crate of mixed fruit and veggies delivered. £10, and there's actually loads in it. Including potatoes and leeks! Guess what tomorrow's lunch is going to be Grin. And I have a recipe for courgette and carrot bread, which doesn't need yeast and is lovely... Mmm...

I was so excited to see apples, as well. I normally just buy fruit as we need it from the market, but obviously I haven't been out in nearly two weeks now. DSis dropped us some soft fruit off on Thursday after DBIL had been to the fruit market (I did a swap for some play sand to keep DNephew occupied), but they didn't have any apples!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/03/2020 23:02

I managed to get a delivery for Monday (DH is WFH) I was relieved I didn't have to go out today at Stupid o' Clock. (Though I'll need to see what gets delivered out of my list)

My DC are swarming through to the kitchen every morning and scoffing pancakes , toast, bagels .
(They'll miss me when I go back to work Xmas Grin )

Binge watching "Spooks" now , up to middle of Series 2 so a looonng way to go .

Mrsmadevans · 28/03/2020 23:32

Evening everyone Smile
Had an awful day , as per it seems for a lot of us. Suffice to say l have really lost it with my Mum today. She lost her hearing aids again, that is every day this week, despite me going on and on about it because they are her lifeline , then l discovered she didn't take her tablets last night despite me putting them out on the mantlepiece for her and to cap it all off she climbed up Bob's stairs , which hasn't even got a rail going up , they have a completely open stair. I couldn't get through to my Mum how badly behaved she had been. She really took the biscuit when l heard that, l have been so upset .She was denying it and raising her eyes to the heavens, closing her eyes and holding her head down, as if l was going on for nothing, l was so upset. I shouted at her for about half an hour in all, my DD1 had a go at her too because l had been crying upstairs while looking for the hearing aids. I told her if l knew she was going to be so irresponsible l would never have let her go to Bob's. When Mum went there and l was looking to see how she would be able to manage, Mum promised me she would take her tablets and stay downstairs, she promised me . There was no night light and made them put a light on all night for Mum in case she fell while staggering to the loo. I felt so betrayed and then for her to act as if l was going on for nothing. I said to her you don't realise what is going on out there Mum. If you had fallen then the paramedics and hospital staff would be looking after you when they could be needed looking after someone with CV. It's like she asked me to get her Roast Pork from the deli & l had to buy her pkt pork because the deli counters are closed everywhere in the supermarket. She said 'l don't want that plastic pork get me the pork from the counter next time l did say to you'. Honestly l was devastated today l felt like she had betrayed my trust . I did go mad though absolutely mental. I shouted and shouted at her and l didn't let up until she acknowledged what she had done. I felt so bad after l had to go back up tonight to see if she was ok because yet again the phone was off the hook and no one could ring them. Honestly l just can't trust her to behave . I took her the numbers of all her friends who have rung her and they haven't been able to talk to her and l said for her to ring them and she just can't be bothered to ring them she is so lazy and couldn't give a shit , they are all worried about her and ringing up and Mum just couldn't give a shit about them, they don't know she isn't there and is at Bob's and Mum doesn't want them to know Shock. I had to apologise to Bob because of my behaviour in his home l was so awful and l hate myself for losing my temper afterwards but honestly l was so upset. I was horrified. I really don't know what the hell to do with her . I just can't get her to behave, she is a law unto herself. I so like Bob, he is an absolute darling , I was crying in the kitchen over the way she was and he was rubbing my arm to comfort me, Mum doesn't know how lucky she is . I am not going there tomorrow , My Dd1 is going and l am so glad. I just don't know what to do with her. I think l was so upset because anything could have happened to her and l felt like it would have been my fault for letting her go. Oh l don't know life is so bloody complicated .
I hope everyone is ok , l have to go to bed now Dh is doing the clocks Hmm I need a shrink. SORRY TO UNBURDEN MYSELF YET AGAIN!!
Have a good night everyone , take care Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/03/2020 23:53

Ohhh Sad Mrs

Sometimes elderly parents are just like dealing with children (except the fact children usually bounce when they fall )

I have similar issues with my DMum but I won;t go into them now because I don't want to veer off your post .

Does your DMum have a LifeLine pendant ?
Can you set the phone to make that horrible noise if it's off the cradle (even if your Mum cannot hear it , but Bob would? )

It sounds like Self Destruction mixed with Pushing The Boundaries and being totally unaware what;s going on Out There .

Maybe she thinks she CAN climb the stairs even though you know its not safe . ( Been there )

My DDad puts a plug in night light into the socket in the hallway which IIRC comes on when its dark (so never switched off)

The not taking tablets is a huge worry (again been there)
Does she just think that Bob is going to take over the mantle of care so she can relinquish all responsibility ?
Hopefully your DH going will give you a breather . Is he more strict ? More likely to read the riot act?

Flowers elderly parents are a huge worry , especially now . And sad to say , I don't know how an older person would fare in hospital right now .

Mrsmadevans · 29/03/2020 08:26

Morning everyone 🙃
70 thank you so much for your support and kindness ❤️
I think you have hit the nail on the head re the Bob looking after her. I didn't see that . I'm so sorry you have this with your Mum 😨
I feel like I have been run over by a bus. The plan was for me to make sure they had at least a week supply of everything if we couldn't get there but l am not sure unless they get their act together they will be able to mange.
I know exactly what will happen to my Mum in hospital. My Dd1 is going today, she had a right go at Mum yesterday . It seems like Mum has totally switched her brain off since going to Bob's. It's the safest place for her though. It has a fraction of the ppl suffering from CV and it's a tiny village. We are going there daily to sort her & Bob out for the day. They just haven't got a clue . I'm sorry for the rant everyone 🙄😭 seems that's all l do these days is rant .
Hope everyone is ok 🙏 take care 💐🤗

Morning! Another lovely day here (though windy / chilly). I'm off to the allotment again soon as I forgot my parsnips and need to do digging!

Mrs, Flowers Flowers Poor you. Make sure you look after yourself. You don't have to be your mum's 'mother'. You say she has full capacity, so let her get on with it. Pull back. She seems ungrateful so why bother when she isn't interested?

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 29/03/2020 10:03

I know Fluffy l know. I am at the end of my tether tbh with you. It's so stressful. 😭
About the only thing keeping me sane is coming here and letting it all out , thank you all for listening and supporting me . I must get you all down 🙄

Have a good day with your parsnips 🤗

FireflyGirl · 29/03/2020 11:36

Flowers MrsM, that must be so frustrating. I really hope she's listened to you.

We're having a very, very last day. DS and I are still in our PJs Blush

I just feel absolutely exhausted. I got up and cleaned the kitchen, and put the soup in the slow cooker. DH has been sorting the garage (his mess anyway Hmm). I feel like I could sleep for days Sad

Decided to give the allotment a miss today, despite the sun peeking through, and have re-planted my hydroponics systems instead.

FireflyGirl · 29/03/2020 11:37

*lazy, not last! Obviously too lazy to proof read as well Blush

Mrsmadevans · 29/03/2020 13:21

Thank you Fire so kind of you all Flowers
You must be tired m'dear it's exhausting growing another human Smile
Well done on the Hyproponics systems what the hell are they Grin off to google now

PJMasksGhekko · 29/03/2020 15:47

Ah Mrs, it certainly will get you stressed!! Make sure you look after yourself!!

pussycatinboots · 29/03/2020 16:01

Kinda caught up Hmm
laptop still screwed - i get about 10 mins then it freezes so i think it's about to die any time.

We went to sains and morrisons yesterday, the queues were enormous Shock but because it's so cold and DH has his "dicky ticker" & he can't do properly cold, we gave up and came home. looks like i'm trying tesco on tues - i know we've been out in the car more than we should, but what can you do??

I've made Apple (bramley) and (dried) apricot crumble for tea - it's experimental but smells edible Grin

not putting spuds or carrot seeds in yet as it's gone very a bit cold.

Mrs i've pm'd you
me, you and 70 could get matching Sad t shirts.

PJ if you can get the Wasgij jigsaws, you'll get hooked - i have them all Blush which might be why we can't "downsize"
oops Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 29/03/2020 16:10

I'm going to have a look puss, if I purchase any the blame is all on you Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 29/03/2020 16:17

None in stock at Argos, they have a 2 for £15 offer on at the moment too!!

pussycatinboots · 29/03/2020 16:56

PJ i get mine from here
www.alljigsawpuzzles.co.uk/collections/wasgij
they give you tracking on the delivery - it works out about a quid more than amazon, but I hate chasing hermes etc.
We got one of our county Cheshire it was near impossible, as half of the places you couldn't "place" iyswim, as their names have changed over the yrs and the boundaries have changed a lot.

Mrsmadevans · 29/03/2020 18:14

Boot have replied to your PM thank you m'dear , so kind of you , hope you manage to get supplies on Tuesday Flowers the shopping slots are coming out in dribs and drabs. This afternoon, after looking on everywhere, in every shop, within a few miles of our house, a slot suddenly came up for Iceland tomorrow evening. I don't know how they are letting the slots out but l grabbed it straight away and am sending it to my Mum's house to put in her freezer for her and Bob . So keep looking they will come up Smile

Mrsmadevans · 29/03/2020 18:16

PJ thank you m'dear so kind of you Flowers
Boots just seen you have been cooking , l love crumble it's delicious Grin YUM YUM!

pussycatinboots · 29/03/2020 18:42

Can I just say before this knackered laptop dies on me that bramley apple and dried apricot (chucked together in a pan with sugar and water) with a mainly porridge oats crumble topping is rather nice, especially with ice cream Grin
I'm a bit full too ==burp== Blush pardon me!

pussycatinboots · 29/03/2020 19:00

you'll have to raid your cupboard/freezer for custard/ice cream Wink
