Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

Morning!

🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 I've just hung some washing out (there's more washing!) and it's freezing. I'm off to the allotment this morning but I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything if the ground is frozen! It's a few degrees colder there as it's open fields, so no heat from houses, streetlights etc and our lawn is solid! It's also a bit foggy.

It'll be lovely when it's burned off though.

I love my cash back accounts. I earn quite well from them.

WreckTangled · 19/01/2020 07:57

It's really frozen here too fluffy.

I am still a bugger for ketchup - I only cut back on it because it's full of rubbish.

Fluffy Another one here who's DH can either be so 'task oriented' that he has no flexibility or world champion faffer 😡

flouncy you reminded me of a ww3 row DH & I had years ago where he'd been an arse and I pointed it out in a very shirty way. His response was to mutter something about "hormones / PMT." I remember getting in my car and going to stay with a friend for a night before basically sitting him down and saying if he ever dismissed my point by blaming hormones again, I'd leave because I'm smart enough to know the difference between him being an arse and me being hormonal. Not sure I've ever been so furious but spoken so calmly before but he hasn't said it since (it was about 12 years ago now).

MrsMad those insurance quotes seem nuts, especially if you have a good driving history (to compare, while my car is smaller, it's older so less security features and I had a non fault accident in the last year and my renewal 2 weeks ago was £190!)

My nephews rugby has been cancelled today because the ground is frozen. Sun has been shining for a few hours and my car is still frozen too.

DH is feeing sorry for himself because his friends have gone for a hike and he didn't join them because of rugby which is now cancelled 🙄

I'm sorting through the front room. It's supposed to be an office but we actually use it as storage because DH doesn't like working in there.
We're going to do a tip run on the way to FILs house for lunch so I can feel I've been productive today.

FireflyGirl · 19/01/2020 11:53

Cars totally frozen here, too. -2 degrees, I've had to crack out the thermal gloves for the first time! I'm at rehearsal all day, so have sent DH a list of jobs for him to ignore.

He has learned not to faff, however. DBIL is taking longer (with DSis, at least. We used to car share and he soon learned if he wasn't ready I would leave him Grin)

WreckTangled · 19/01/2020 11:56

I'm having a productive morning. Have done a kettlebell work out followed by yoga. Have tidied, dusted and hoovered the sitting room, cleaned and hoovered the kitchen, tidied and hoovered my room. Have just prepared the chicken for dinner which is now marinating in the fridge. Dd is upstairs having gone completely crazy at me for suggesting she have a shower Hmm ds should be home from football in a bit. I still haven't folded any washing. I really must do it 😩

NerosFiddle · 19/01/2020 13:21

Afternoon.

Completely frozen here too. My neighbours across from us have have visitors and they have decided to park across their drive and make it really awkward for us to get out. Envy

That does look good mrs. Does it taste of egg though? I don't like egg 🤮 I can eat it in cake things though if it's not too eggy.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2020 15:06

Our fog cleared by about 10, thankfully. It was a bit Hounds of the Baskervilles when I got to the allotment!

I got a fair amount done. Mostly surface weeding as I don't want to dig too much. Still loads more to do though. I was being harangued by the robins for worms, so I threw a load to them.

I love it when it's frosty as it means my garlic will be happily splitting into bulbs (the autumn-planting ones need frost to do this). 😁

It was bloody claggy underfoot once it had thawed, so the water level is still high underground.

Firefly, there's no training my DH to not faff; it's too entrenched! The worst thing is when we're sitting in the car waiting for him and he decides to faff in the house, but doesn't tell me he's going to be doing something other than locking up. It drives me insane!

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2020 15:09

It looks like there's a fair amount of productivity across the board for us all today. Top work, team! Xmas Grin

Mumbassa · 19/01/2020 15:43

Hi, I was here for the 2013 countdown when I was TTC DC1. 70’s was on it if I remmeber rightly, but I can’t remember any of you (sorry😬). Can I jump back on? I loved this thread back then and managed to get some cracking ideas for Christmas.

WreckTangled · 19/01/2020 16:09

Took me two and a half hours but I finally folded the washing

I feel like it flouncy. I don't know why it takes me so long! Apart from the fact that I haven't folded anything for a week...

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2020 16:45

Hi @Mumbassa! What was your name in 2013? I don't think I joined until 2014, but I can't remember really!

Wreck, that sounds like a lot of washing! DH did ours earlier. I just need to put mine away as he did the rest.

I hurt so much. I think I'm broken!

I've put mine away and left everyone else's Grin also I haven't folded/paired any of dh's underwear.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2020 16:55

I was in the bath for over an hour, flouncy! I'm sure it'll ease by Wednesday!

Apparently it's almost done and being completed tomorrow.

I'm having roast potatoes tonight done in duck fat. I wouldn't normally have the extra carbs, but I'm knackered and decided I would today for a change!

Mumbassa · 19/01/2020 17:04

fluffy oh we just missed each other then!Grin. I won’t share my old name if that’s okay as I had to name change from that one due to outing posts.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/01/2020 18:28

Ohh Mumbassa I am going to Brain-Wrack now Xmas Grin

I am planning Christmas Market trips at the moment (bus company locally . we went to Boulogne last March , very busy day but nice to not have to worry about the driving. ) .
There's Bath or Winchester so we're trying to work out dates .

DH has booked our holiday . I cannot take any risks involving flying so it's a cruise (leaving from UK) .
It's our Wedding Anniversary this year (Silver) so it's a combined Anniversary/ make up for last year /my birthday .

I was looking at dresses in M&S , all black sequinned , dozens of them (I'm guessing they weren't big sellers) .
I will need some naice clothes (it actually says in the website about the dress code about dresses and "nice slacks" Xmas Grin )

It;s a few months to go yet (but I still have all my suntan cream unopened and my bikini unworn from Turkey ! )

We ate a Lidl Nut Roast ( in the freezer since Christmas) , Quorn Roast and roast potatoes for dinner (and some random vegetables for good measure )

Loads of laundry here , all the work stuff washed , DS new clothes , washed our sheet and piliowcases as our darling male cat likes to stamp on the bed

WreckTangled · 19/01/2020 18:37

Wow 70 lots to look forward to! My sister lives in bath and says they completely avoid town when the market is on because it's so busy it's been reported as dangerous. That said I do like it there. I know people who went to Winchester last year (I really like it there and can recommend a great place for a bottomless brunch) they said it wasn't too busy, not loads there especially compared to bath, but was still lovely.

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/01/2020 18:40

Depending on the cruise line 70 you may also see "pantsuits" recommended as formal wear which always makes me think of 70's cop shows like Starsky and Hutch Grin
