Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

You can leave a gas / electric deal 48 days before the end without penalty, by the way. Mine ends in June, so I'll swap in early May!

My Premier Seeds just arrived :) the smallest number of parsnip seeds I could order was 2600. Anyone for parsnips? Grin

We're on a water meter too and ours is £30/month.

My house insurance is up for renewal beginning of February so will sort that out soon. Previously had to have my insulin pump on it (£3500) but my new one is different and the expensive part is disposable so I don't need to insure it.

WreckTangled · 15/01/2020 17:11

Oh I got tickets for the natural history museum exhibition that I wanted too! Was in the queue for an hour and a half, good job dd was off school so I wasn't at work Grin

We only need contents so should be less than £100

I renewed last month and it was just under £100 for contents only, with accidental damage and a watch worth £2,500 on it. It's with Sainsbury's (and you get double Nectar points for the year too). It's our third year with them, but we keep having to swap to a new customer policy as the renewals are silly!

No, no meter, there are 5 of us in the house.

I'd love to kick him up the bum but at nearly 14 he's 6ft already Grin

Ohh I didn't know that fluffy, got some coming up £20 a month cheaper but no deals through TopCashBack on compare the market, but I can stay with who I am at £8 a month cheaper and get £48 cash back, hmmmm

NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2020 19:43

Did you try Quidco compare? They're not a bad comparison site and you can get about £40 cashback.

Or have you tried to see if any of the cheaper ones have direct cash back on either site?

PJMasksGhekko · 15/01/2020 21:13

Have stayed with who we are, through Topcashback, £48. £10 a month cheaper, but also in credit so will cash that in around March.

PJMasksGhekko · 15/01/2020 21:14

They will put the payments down come summer too, they did last year.

DH is really stressed about income. I’m working part time as no full time jobs here. He’s been working really long hours on a new business but the CEO and Directors aren’t up to scratch. Nothing DH can do about that so he’s struggling to either stay or go. Trouble is he’s 64 in a couple of weeks so getting another job won’t be easy. Anyhoo, because I’m a food hoarder I can last without his favourite things.

Right now I’m looking at things for DDs going to Uni this year. Then I’ll move onto Christmas.

CrazyBaubles · 15/01/2020 21:55

So Milk-Gate was solved by Sales replacing what they stole and providing the 2 depts they stole from with donuts. Was all forgotten about by lunchtime 🙄

Have checked our water and contents insurance. Water £45 per month, insurance £90 for the year. Renewal in August so will tour for good quotes and cashback in July.

Hi Adora. Will your DH be retiring anytime soon? Could he stick it out until then?

My day has been boring aside from Milk-gate. Work, brisk walk (in the pouring rain) for dog and calorie burning exercise purposes, steak tea, few chores and bath. Now ready for bed, my sleep is all over the place 😴

Morning!

I'm tired this morning and my eyes are struggling to focus! The joy of getting older and my eyes being confused as to whether I'm long or short sighted (bit of both!).

I've been doing my cross stitch the last couple of nights. I'm limiting myself to a certain amount though, so I don't stay up late doing it during the week!

We got £24 cash back on our home insurance, which is about as good as you can get when you only have contents cover. It's nigh on 25% of its price, so not too shabby!

Annoyingly our current car insurer has been cheapest for the last two renewals (and when we got the Volvo). I'm hoping to do better this year so I can get some cash back!

Got to go to work now. Yaaaaaawn!

WreckTangled · 16/01/2020 07:42

Morning! Slept for 8 hours 46 minutes and feel much better for it. Dd is going back to school and I've already got a beef casserole in the slow cooker Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 16/01/2020 08:01

Morning, Go Wreck, love my slow cooker Grin

I was in bed for 10.30 and my fitbit tells me I slept for 8 hours 5 minutes,24 times restless which is nothing unusual.

Dd2 needs a new winter coat as hers is rubbing on her wrists so I'll be popping asda at some point today.

I am going to try and do alot of the renewals through cashback this year.

Mrsmadevans · 16/01/2020 09:42

Minstrels are lovely!

Flouncy, your poor DH. I hope he's on the mend.

I hope your mum's lunch went well, Mrs.

I never get 8 hours on a work night. I get up too early for the maths to work!

WreckTangled · 16/01/2020 19:00

I often go to bed really early. I need lots of sleep.

Did kettlebell and yoga today. Ds is at football and the weather is awful!
