Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Been really busy today, went to Mum's, Gave her breakfast in bed, then tablets, got her showered and dressed, took her to the hairdressers, picked her up again, got her some lunch, put all the decs away, gave the house a clean after from top to bottom, that bloody tinsel/glitter gets everywhere, did her hand washing, folded all the dry washing and put it to air, washed & wiped up at least 10 times Hmm
Had to go to the hairdressers again to look for her hearing aids Hmm she dropped them outside and we had to look for them. While she was in the hairdressers she asked Bob to pop for Coffee, he came in and had dog shit all over his shoes, she has only just had the bloody carpets shampooed , honestly l could have cried. I wrestled his shoes off him , cleaned them and wrestled them back on him Hmm. He said to me , 'l can't get them back on without a shoe horn ' He didn't bloody need a shoe horn let me tell you , l got em on him Grin . He didn't know what the hell happened . l spotted the shit on the carpet and went into 'salvation of the carpet' mode Xmas Grin. My feet didn't hit the floor Xmas Grin, neither did Bobs Grin. Anyway finished today off by visiting Vamos to book afternoon tea for Mum for her birthday on Feb 1st and collecting more hearing aid batteries from the surgery Xmas Grin , I came home and could have cried honestly l could. I can see the fun side now but at the time l could have rubbed Bob's nose in the shit Xmas Grin

Must go my daily dose of calm , lovely nostalgia is on The Repair shop Smile & all is now well with the world Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2020 17:20

Afternoon!

Flouncy, I'm glad you're in the mend. Noro is hideous.

I've only heard the washing superstition on here, but it's the one which Wreck mentioned.

Well done on being productive, and getting some exercise in, Wreck. You'll soon get your fitness back, I'm sure.

Neros, our weather wasn't as bad as forecast. It's starting to rain a bit now, in Liverpool at least. No idea about home and our weather can be quite different!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2020 17:22

Sorry, Mrs, I was about to post on the train this morning when my manager got on, so I couldn't. Then now was my first chance as I was galloping round at lunch time!

Is The Repair Shop on earlier now? I used to watch it at 7pm!

Mrsmadevans · 02/01/2020 20:09

Morning! I'm still suffering with my sore throat / head cold. One day it'll go! 😂

But, at least it's Friday! Though this week has been VERY confusing for knowing what day it actually is. Xmas Confused

Just weighed myself, and I've 6lbs to lose. That shouldn't be too hard now I'm back at the allotment every week.

Mrs, I'm hoping the 9 day fortnight is signed off at next week's management meeting. It'll be amazing if it is! That extra day off a fortnight will really help with getting stuff done.

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 06:57

Fluffy why did I already think you were on a four day week?

I've got to get my car serviced today. The garage is miles away. Taking the dc into town to spend their book vouchers whilst it's being done then taking dd to bil's for a sleepover miles in the other direction. Will try and fit in some food shopping.

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 08:07

Change of plan. DH is back from work (his boss is ill so told him to have the day off) the dc have broken me so I'm going on my own. Won't go into town will just sit and wait for it to be done.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2020 08:43

Wreck, I did 5 in 4 in my last job. It almost broke me! I've done a normal 9-5 since June in this 'new' job and I've now asked to do the 10 in 9. It'll be a few month trial to start with to see if we all think it works, then go formal after that if it does.

Good idea re the car service. Much better to go alone!

silverlamplight · 03/01/2020 09:32

Hello all, can I please join you? I used to be on these threads several years ago (prob with a different name) but dropped off the last few years. This Christmas I was so unprepared - everything very last minute and very, very stressful! Determined not to have a repeat perfomance next year.
So far I have: Cleared the top of the wardropbes in our room and ordered 4 large storage bags to stash stuff in through the year, bought next years advent caendars (we do picture ones) , ordered 4 out of 6 pairs of needed Chrsitmas pjs in the sales for dc for next year xmas eve (coudnt get 2 pairs in the sizes I needed ) , bought wrapping paper and crackers in the sales. Ive also set up the psread sheets I use to track gifts and budget and started a wish list on amazon for stocking things for the dc...will buy these throughout the year to spread cost.
Oh, and ive ordered an artifical tree for the first time as I am soooo fed up of pine needles everywhere!

Mrsmadevans · 03/01/2020 09:33

Morning 😊
Fluffy sooner they do it the better for you and your family 🤗, hoe you feel better today and 6lbs is a drop in the ocean 🤗
Wreck great idea , sit in the waiting room, phone in hand, coffee in t'other and chill 👏👍
Up to Mum's taking her to meet Keith for lunch 👍👏
Another of her men she has calling 😂😂😂
Have a great day everyone 😀

EmrysAtticus · 03/01/2020 11:08

Went to look at allotments. This one is showing as available on the council system but has clearly been recently turned over. The council man thinks someone is chancing it but is going to double check for us. Would be great if we could start without masses of digging!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2020 11:44

That would be ace, Em!

Ooh it hadn't even occurred to me that they may have hidden a body there flouncy! Good fertiliser I guess Grin

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 12:25

Flouncy honestly the tracking is fine Grin they were worn from the tracking being out before but didn't need changing when it was done, the 13k miles I've done since is what did it. They're changing the battery though.

I got myself some pjs and gym leggings with my Christmas money. £14 as I had a voucher too. Oh and a £2 candle in primark.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2020 17:27

Good shopping, Wreck!

I bought some bird seed to feed the allotment birdies plus a few sparkly place mats for Christmas. I also put our first £20 on a Sainsbury's gift card for the year. We're going to do it every month to save towards a part of Christmas, so toys, food etc.

I'll put it in the house and top up by phone when I get paid.

And yes, flouncy, my days off work are very much for digging etc!

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 17:45

I'm finally home. After an hour of waiting they told me they didn't have a battery so have to sort that out somewhen. Then took dd to her sleepover and went to Asda. Just need to put the food shopping away and I'm going to do day two of the Thursday day yoga. Considered doing weights but I'm a bit sore from yesterday so will do that tomorrow. DH has just taken ds to football.

MrsDilligaf · 03/01/2020 18:12

All our decs are down and in the loft Xmas Sad but it does mean I can give the house a bloody good clean and have a good sort out. So far today I've sorted out 5 bags to go to the charity shop, and 2 bags to go to the clothes bank.

I really really want to get the house sorted, not quite Marie Kondo, but something along those lines!

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 18:40

It's definitely the right time of year for having a big sort out.

There's a really loud owl outside our house 🦉

Mrsmadevans · 03/01/2020 19:19

Evening everyone 😊
Em that allotment looks excellent, any news can you have it ? Fingers crossed 👏😄🤞
Fanny , Keith is the DJ from the dance club keep up 😂😂😂
Cooked cauliflower cheese and having a piece of ham for tea 😋 swap it for your veg lasagne though 😋😄👏
Wreck you have had great bargains the last few days fair did 😄👏
Well done on the exercises too 👍
Mrs D , can only echo your wants re the decluttering and cleaning well done! 😄👏👍
Fluffy excellent idea to save toward Christmas. I am not doing that but l have hoicked myself into the frugal thread to try to stop buying bloody bargains and filling the house all the year round. I want to give money now and stop the presents. My dining room is still a mess ! 🙄🤪

Mrsmadevans · 03/01/2020 19:20

I love hearing owls Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2020 19:25

Well done, Mrs D. I need to sort out stuff to sell and then find somewhere to sell it, like an NCT-type sale, I think. Facebook groups sometimes work and sometimes don't, so it's a bit frustrating.

We have owls in the park over the road. I quite often hear them hooting. They're ace!

Maybe you need a good declutter too, Mrs? Then sell stuff you don't need?

MrsDilligaf · 03/01/2020 19:49

One of my friends has made over £200 selling her children's outgrown clothes and toys on Facebook. I might give it a whirl with some of DD's bits, although once she's done with her clothes they are just about fit for the rag bag!

PJMasksGhekko · 03/01/2020 20:02

I'm rejoining, Hi cousin Fluffy!!

Christmas was fab, kids loved the Switch and everything else.

Bought some wrapping paper for this year so that's in the loft, have got an Asda card to top up with, hoping to get it to £100, have ordered my park vouchers, so that will be £400 plus £100 Asda card, that costs £43.66 a month.

Dh has been off work a month, he goes back Monday and boy am I ready for him to go back!!

Kids go back Tuesday as do I, although I have still been working my 1st job at the hospital, turns out I'll be working Christmas day this year, but I will be booking it off, I will work whatever day they want, just not Christmas day.

The Collie pup is now 1!! And lovely and bonkers!!

Have been saving to go abroad next year, which will be our 1st holiday since our last 1 in 2018, just pondering on the dog.

My goal is to lose weight (again) and to cut down alcohol, I'm sitting here with wine so that's not going too well Grin
