Thought I'd start a thread over here as to not overrun the bargain thread.

I have ordered two. One being diabetic, I will admit I did think it a bit strange that there were no individual diabetic items on the site. Saying that, I am crossing my fingers hoping it will arrive.

If anyone has any updates, refund actually back in back/orders received 🤞 please post here.

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 10/12/2019 19:39

these refund emails were caused by a "software glitch" and that the hampers are on their way

Eh? These are the crappest scammers ever - now they are giving away free hampers Grin I really don't get it.

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 20:02

FFS I give up!

Can anyone help me find hampers, from a company that will actually deliver, I need one for my DC after school club staff/helpers, so needs to have enough to share between 5/6 people and it has to be delivered on Thursday (this Thursday).

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 20:02

Or do I just make one up myself?

starrynight19 · 10/12/2019 20:03

They are definately not customers of dpd.

I also find it bizarre for every one person questioning what’s happening another five people pop up saying how amazing they are.

I have asked again who is delivering the hampers wonder if they will reply Hmm won’t hold my breath

Mistressiggi · 10/12/2019 20:06

Themazeoflife - Morrison's had ready made hampers when I was in today. If you need it this week I think your are cutting it fine for a delivery, though I've sent one through John Lewis and it took just two days.

NewBabyJoy · 10/12/2019 20:31

Utterly bizarre situation. I also can't figure out what's going on, but there's definitely something dodgy about them. What are they hiding? Surely they could end further speculation by showing a post of them packing up a load of boxes (although I don't think I'd even believe that at this point). Have requested a refund and asked my bank to put a stop on any more payments from them just in case. Refund not yet received, but I'm hopeful. Also went a bit Miss Marple and found the "MD" on facebook. Just so absolutely bizarre.

NewBabyJoy · 10/12/2019 20:34

www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/teenager-caught-running-portable-cannabis-15659890.amp do we think this is the same guy listed as MD on companies house???Xmas Shock

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 20:46

@Mistressiggi Thank you, managed to get one from M&S, it's not great but will be better than nothing.
I paid extra for nominated delivery so I should have it on time.

Now I just need to replace the 5 other hampers I had ordered.

violetmartini · 10/12/2019 20:53

Tk maxx had some lovely hampers in the other week which contained some of the same products as this company claim to sell- Mrs Bridges etc

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 21:07

@violetmartini
Thank you, have just got two from TK, they had money off £19.99 instead of £29.99 and a next day delivery option.

VividImagination · 10/12/2019 22:21

@NewBabyJoy and he’s removed his profile picture since yesterday!

I can’t log into my Account. It doesn’t seem to recognise my email address although I have plenty of emails from them. I don’t need the hampers until Christmas Eve so I’m going to hold on and hopefully get some reduced hamper bits then and make my own. I’m 99.9% sure there are no hampers coming but that tiny little bit of me won’t cancel “just in case”.

Mistressiggi · 10/12/2019 22:29

@NewBabyJoy yeah that's him. Did you notice the judge commented on his operation being well-run and commercial? Grin

NewBabyJoy · 10/12/2019 23:17

I'm so over-invested in this.

@VividImagination you're a braver woman than me, waiting it out. How much longer will you wait?

@Mistressiggi I reckon his "talents" are currently wasted. He should be managing some big corporation, or negotiating Brexit or something Confused

binday · 10/12/2019 23:55

My refund is in my account! I wasn’t holding out much hope for the money arriving but I’m glad it has.

VividImagination · 10/12/2019 23:58

@NewBabyJoy if nothing arrives by the weekend I will request a refund either from them or through my credit card and make other arrangements.

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 11/12/2019 05:59

@Themazeoflife I’m sure I saw a mnhq led thread about best hampers which was near the top of the Christmas boards.

oneofthose · 11/12/2019 07:03

I cancelled my order on Sunday and I received my refund last night too.
Also bemused by the whole operation, might use it as a case study for my business studies students Grin

loveliesbleeding1 · 11/12/2019 07:25

I requested a refund Saturday and the money is in my account this morning.

BlueisthenewGrey · 11/12/2019 07:53

I requested a refund Saturday, arrived this morning. I think they just could not cope with the demand and didnt think the time through to create the actual hampers.

Reluctantbettlynch · 11/12/2019 07:54

I'm surprised dpd give out info about customer status. This is getting stranger by the day. They have been really stupid not to get these out and quash their rumours if they want to keep trading.

CheekyFucker · 11/12/2019 08:00

@Reluctantbettlynch I also thought it odd that DPD would give out client information too, but I guess they are not bound by such tight confidentiality and would want to be removed from this speculation.

I am holding out too. Perhaps there should be a prize for the last to give in?

I checked the 'best hamper' list on MNHQ and one of theirs was listed (not sure same company, but same picture) which is why I ordered. Grr.

LazyDaisey · 11/12/2019 08:01

Here’s my take on it... they needed £40-70k to invest into something that could quickly double their money and they’d never get a loan from anyone. Not going to speculate whether it’s legal or illegal activity but they’d never get a loan with their lack of credit and assets.

Enter hampers. They get local companies to supply them with enough to do giveaways, promos and maybe even ship out a few. Give rest to charities in exchange for more pr. Offer hampers at ridiculous prices, but make it look like the wrong coupon has gone viral and they’ve chosen to honour it anyway. People are greedy and can’t resist a bargain.

If the investment works out and they’ve doubled their money... refund everyone their money back. If the investment doesn’t work out, fold the company quickly and disappear.

Investment worked out, they’re refunding everyone. But they’re pissed off about the Cashback charges as they’re losing money on that.

I feel like we should see who’s going to be Doug Forcett, the guy who got it 92% right on The Good Place

PinkJam · 11/12/2019 08:09

I wouldn’t have thought DPD would be doing anything wrong by saying someone isn’t a customer of theirs?

MsMiaWallace · 11/12/2019 08:11

I got my refund yesterday evening!

MrsReader · 11/12/2019 08:20

Where did DPD say the company aren't a customer of theirs?
