Thought I'd start a thread over here as to not overrun the bargain thread.

I have ordered two. One being diabetic, I will admit I did think it a bit strange that there were no individual diabetic items on the site. Saying that, I am crossing my fingers hoping it will arrive.

If anyone has any updates, refund actually back in back/orders received 🤞 please post here.

I'm sure someone posted today on the bargains thread that they got their money back into their account.

Pixie2015 · 08/12/2019 20:59

Can’t wait to see first picture of a hamper 🤔 only ordered one to be part of the drama

starrynight19 · 08/12/2019 21:01

To be honest if you did receive one it would stick in your throat a bit if it had the chocolates in it from the company they owe money to.

QOD that’s the oddest thing people are actually getting refunds 🤷‍♀️

Courtney555 · 08/12/2019 21:02

It's a complete guessing game. People are receiving refunds if they email, which originally led me to think they were genuine. Just three youngsters who got overwhelmed with orders and were actually grateful for the cancellations as it meant less that they couldn't fulfill.

But.

Then that ridiculous Australia post came up. And that has to be a scam.

Leflic · 08/12/2019 21:06

I love the idea its some huge social experiment or TV documentary. But most people wouldn’t be aware there was an issue surely? They would have ordered and just be waiting for something to arrive.

CosmicVagina · 08/12/2019 21:17

I'm in Hamper Chicken for two, gonna let it ride...

Renovirgin2018 · 08/12/2019 21:22

Tbh the excitement is well worth the 9.99 spend 😂
Another thing that doesn't add up, if they owe all of these suppliers money then where is the stock? Nobody has recieved anything after all 🤔

@reno I read a comment on the main Xmas thread saying that basically they had used the products to do free giveaways to drum up more traffic to their FB page to increase orders etc...but who knows🤷

loveliesbleeding1 · 08/12/2019 21:29

I asked for a refund today so now I’m waiting to see if it goes into the bank.

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/12/2019 21:50

Renovirgin2018 · 08/12/2019 21:51

I ordered 3 hampers (2 normal and 1 diabetic) and then also ordered a further £25 worth of stuff in the Black Friday half price sale so I’m £50ish in at the minute (all on cc so hopefully will be able to get it back if needs be) but I’m holding out to see if they arrive! I do though need to think of an alternative present for my diabetic nan just in case.

LetThemEatDrama · 08/12/2019 21:59

I was in for 3 but didn't have the nerve to ride it out for £30 so asked about getting a refund and had order cancelled within 10 mins! No money in bank yet though, week wait and see. All very dramatic tho with Australia!

Themazeoflife · 08/12/2019 22:21

Over £100 spent Blush

BonnesVacances · 08/12/2019 22:31

Another one playing Hamper Chicken. I only ordered one for £12 and it was an extra present, so it's not a huge problem if it doesn't turn up.

I'm still optimistic.Grin

I had a similar (but not really) experience when I booked an end of tenancy clean, paid for it but they never turned up. The phone number was then unobtainable, website disappeared and everyone told me I'd been scammed. Similarly, I couldn't understand the motivation or gain in having a proper decent website set up to scam me out of £200.

In the end they got in contact, apologised, gave me some convoluted story, and refunded the money. None of it made any sense, but I didn't waste any more time trying to understand it.

What will probably happen in this case is they'll fulfill no orders and everyone will get a refund. There'll be a flaw in the business model, they sold too many hampers at the discounted rate because the discount code was shared too widely and they couldn't get the stock in due to cash flow problems or poor management. And we'll be discussing it on next year's Christmas threads.

DawnAnn · 08/12/2019 22:37

I'm just amazed that there are still people posting on the Facebook page trying to order additional products and part with even more of their cash...

Purpleheadgirl · 08/12/2019 23:09

Irrelevant if it being a scam or not.. companies often don't pay their suppliers for three months as the money is better in their bank gaining interest than in the suppliers bank account.....even the nhs often wait until third reminder etc

QOD · 09/12/2019 00:00

I’m so confused
Plus I don’t know how to do a chargeback 😂

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 09/12/2019 06:24

Marking place. I hope they arrive and no one loses out.

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 09/12/2019 06:35

Just looked on their Fb page. It’s weird, they almost seem to be encouraging people to get refunds in what they say. There’s more commenting about getting refunds than reassurances the hampers are on their way and will be there in time for Christmas. It’s almost like they want people to cancel their order.

Maybe it is some weird tv thing set up to show how easy it is for scammers to get loads of money from setting up a website and if it looks too good to be true it is. It’s the only explanation we’ve got that makes sense atm. My brain is kefuddled with trying to work this one out!

BrightonBB · 09/12/2019 07:09

I wonder if anyone has contacted the local Trading Standards. Surely they could make a visit.

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 09/12/2019 08:12

The positive comments on the fb page almost look unnecessarily positive. Like they’re planted. Why would so many people defend and post positively about an order they’ve yet to receive from a company they’ve never bought from .

Mistressiggi · 09/12/2019 10:02

People are strange Yule, people are strange.
I wonder did they try a scam, realise people could all get chargebacks and try to abandon the whole thing through refunds? But they could just refund us without asking I think, saying "we're unable to fulfil your order, here's your refund". I really don't know.

christmassymcchristmas · 09/12/2019 10:21

Stock in Queensland GrinGrin

Fridayfun · 09/12/2019 10:28

I got a refund back to my card within 3 or 4 days of requesting it. @QOD I emailed them directly asking for a refund, I didn't need to request a chargeback from my card provider. HGC emailed me back almost immediately saying the refund was processed. They made no attempt to ask me to wait another few days for my order or that it was already on the way, which it should have been.
