Thought I'd start a thread over here as to not overrun the bargain thread.

I have ordered two. One being diabetic, I will admit I did think it a bit strange that there were no individual diabetic items on the site. Saying that, I am crossing my fingers hoping it will arrive.

If anyone has any updates, refund actually back in back/orders received 🤞 please post here.

They are encouraging people to ask for a refund because then all they have to do is give you back your money.

If you go to your bank and tell them you didn’t receive the hamper, your bank will refund you and THEN PURSUE THEM for the money and CHARGE THEM £15 admin fees per each case.

That’s why they’re encouraging refunds directly.

rosesandcashmere · 09/12/2019 10:47

Do you have a link to the Facebook page please? I can't for the life of me find it anymore and I think I'm going mad.

LazyDaisey · 09/12/2019 10:52

Directly from the horse’s mouth on their FB

“CARD PAYMENT CHARGEBACKS
We have now had multiple "Chargebacks" from customers banks. A Chargeback is when you go to your bank and tell them you haven't received the item and they refund you and then deal with us. Every time we receive a chargeback, we are charged £15.00 in admin fees. ALL of our customers have been offered a full refund if they didn't want to wait for their orders. NONE of these chargeback customers have made any contact with us in the past week. If they had contacted us with their concerns, their orders would be have been cancelled and payments refunded.

We would like to remind all customers that if they are unhappy to wait for their orders, they can simply DM or email us their order number for a full refund. We are trying to be as fair as we can to all our customers and understand that some people have been unsettled by the recent posts on our Facebook page, mostly from people who have never ordered from us.”

I didn’t order any. I think it was a scam. But the idiots didn’t realise that when things go viral it all moves very fast and people could ask for their money back from bank so quickly and they’d be slapped with charges before they had a chance to “fold”

Australia/Europe shipping? My take on it: sometime in September... mate, you going home for Christmas? Mind if you take a few of these in your suitcase and mail it for me when you get to your hometown? Cause you know Brexit in October and all.

Have you seen the Facebook post where they have said that they are refunding anyone who asks for it and then ‘if’ it’s in transit they will get the courier to return it to them Hmm

Someone on their page has also said they got a dispatch email on Thursday so are expecting contact from the delivery company. Let’s hope that’s true.

IdleBet · 09/12/2019 11:08

I would just like to see one person getting a hamper.

But it's likely they've bitten off more than they can chew, and would rather give a refund than go to the expense of actually filling and posting out these hampers.

CarrotVan · 09/12/2019 11:08

The website says it's based in Fort William. The phone number is a Fort William number. The company director gives a Fort William address too.

The postal address is a virtual office and mailing address. The sort of place that does post to email scanning. Probably because the postal service in that bit of Scotland is crap (my MIL lives that way).

I've risked a whole £10 so I'm happy to play Hamper Chicken and if all else fails I have a name, postal address and a MIL who knows half the world up there.

Onesnowballshort · 09/12/2019 11:27

So, other than not delivering on our orders, where's the scam? What money are they making out of it?

christmassymcchristmas · 09/12/2019 11:31

The money we've paid for our non-existent hampers. They obviously didn't know about charge back

Thats another illogical comment from them - couriers will have thousands of parcels a day being sent through them, they simply won't have the time or ability to look through for an individual sent item that needs to be recalled unless it has a tracking number - and even then it doesn't seem likely that parcels sent days ago would still be hanging around to be recalled. Plus if they DO have a tracking number surely they could give that to people waiting for their orders to show the hamper on its way to them and ask them to wait a day or so before refunding. Everything about this seems like amateur hour at best ...

Courtney555 · 09/12/2019 12:05

So I just messaged the Facebook page via messenger. Their status is set to "away."

The auto response is:

Hi, xxx . Thanks for your message. If you are waiting for a delivery, please note that we are experiencing delays in dispatching orders and are working very hard to clear the backlog. We aim to have all orders dispatched by Friday 13th. If you wish not to wait for your order to be delivered, please send us your order number for a full refund. For any other enquiry, we will respond as quick as possible. Thanks, HGC Team.

Onesnowballshort · 09/12/2019 12:12

Well they're not though Christmassy are they, as they aren't only refunding people through chargeback but anyone who asks to be refunded. So again, what money are they making?

Mistressiggi · 09/12/2019 12:12

An idea - next mumsnet meet-up venue.... Fortwilliam? Grin

lookingforbaubles · 09/12/2019 13:04

maybe all the money has been an interest free loan -- then buy a load of drugs, sell them for huge profit - refund the 'loan' from all the customers

clever really....

PinkJam · 09/12/2019 13:06

Have had a refund through, can’t work out how this is a scam but didn’t want to risk it.

starrynight19 · 09/12/2019 13:20

lookingforbaubles that could be it , a large interest free loan.

A few people saying they got dispatch emails last week but heard nothing from couriers.

Also a lady saying someone has contacted her via Facebook to tell her it’s a fake company.

MsMiaWallace · 09/12/2019 13:21

Waiting for my refund requested yesterday

Thegirlhasnoname · 09/12/2019 13:35

I wanted to play Hamper Chicken but I’m too much of a wimp (and don’t much fancy trying to buy something for hard to please grandparents closer to Christmas) so have requested a refund. Good luck everybody else!

OutnumberedByFurchesters · 09/12/2019 13:40

Still playing hamper chicken here.... Husband has ordered 3 along with some other bits. And I've ordered one for my mum so both hanging around.... For now...

All very strange... Can't quite put my finger on if I think it's a total scam or not...

Villagegreenpreservation · 09/12/2019 13:40

I got an e-mail said they start shipping between 9th and 11th so I'm going to wait it out!!

Themazeoflife · 09/12/2019 14:07

I'm all in, have got a couple of cheap replacement gifts, if the hampers don't arrive on time, no one will go without gifts.

Kutsy · 09/12/2019 14:49

I requested and was emailed refund on Friday. No sign of it still in my bank today. It was for a large amount though. Fingers crossed it appears in my account in next few days.

noodledoodler · 09/12/2019 15:48

I hope the writers of eastenders are following this thread, its a ready made christmas storyline for them for next year.....

Notlongnow1 · 09/12/2019 16:31

Have they said what courier to expect at all?! I have had Hermes and dpd emails today and can only think of one other thing I've ordered that could come by courier... probably wishful thinking. Dont get excited lol

Themazeoflife · 09/12/2019 16:33

DPD and another company I can't remember.
