Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Ooh exciting, I’ve always wanted to get thread title!

I’m not sure how Fitbit-esque this is, but whoever was looking for the Fitbit alternative I bought this for my mum (she really just wanted a pedometer but this tracks sleep which looks pretty cool)

Sixp · 05/12/2019 08:52

I’ve just been in to my local Tesco and picked up a couple of Haribo advent calendars. They weren’t marked down, but when I scanned them they were £1.50 instead of £5. I’m going to use them for stockings.

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 05/12/2019 08:54

Dont know if this will help anyone but the app Depop is for selling on clothes. I have just bought a beautiful Allsaints Cargo leather jacket for £100. Its second hand, but soft as butter.
If you have a teen asking for something out of your price range it could be the answer.

Grafittiqueen · 05/12/2019 08:56

I like the chat and the present ideas. It always comes up with something I hadn't thought of for someone.

MyEnormousTurnip · 05/12/2019 08:57

Does anyone remember the lovely £5 handwash from Elemis last year? Just found three of them in my present drawer that I’d forgotten about Blush

Anyone after stocking fillers for tweens/teens I saw Tiny Hands in Poundland yesterday. Recently paid £8 for some off eBay so I’m well annoyed. That was the cheapest I could find as well Angry

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/12/2019 09:14

Anyone who’s had the gin club, did the box have any logo or labelling on the outside to say what it was?

MulberryPeony · 05/12/2019 09:15

www.latestinbeauty.com/collections/the-style-luxury-beauty-edit A very good price for the contents. Shame it’s the same Huda pallet as the cult beauty or it’d be in my basket!

Had an email from Highland Gift Co to say they're preparing the hampers, and that they will be distributed by DPD

'The delivery journey - Due to our remote location, the UK couriers all use a third party to collect their shipments, Menzies Distribution. When they pick up the parcel from us, it makes its way to DPD in Glasgow. This usually takes 1-2 days. Once DPD scan the parcel, it will generate an email to you with a delivery date (usually the next day) and then on the day of delivery they will email or text you with a one hour timeslot for your delivery.'

1 litre of Baileys down to £10 in Morrisons

just a little one

Themazeoflife · 05/12/2019 09:25

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts

My family are visiting on the 13th so need mine for then, originally ordered on the 5th Nov so I'm hoping mine are in this weeks despatch, rather then next weeks or I will be stuck with them and my family won't have any gifts.

I don't know if I should look for back up gifts or just keep my fingers crossed.

HalfWomanHalfHobnob · 05/12/2019 09:26

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece the delivery box itself just had generic Christmas decoration on it (although it says Craft Gin Club on the interior box flaps so once you've opened the package it's obvious). The address label was directly on this box, and it did say Craft Gin Club in the return address. The items are all unwrapped inside this single delivery box.

Half price on women’s dressing gowns at Peacocks today only

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/12/2019 09:27

@CheekyFucker well bloody hell, I think anyone who would take exception to lots of people trying to find a gift for a child that has been seriously ill, has a heart two sizes too small. Apologies if that's not what you meant but that's how I read your post.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/12/2019 09:37

@Themazeoflife it might be good to have a back up! The email said they'd all be dispatched to the carriers by the 10th, unless ordered in their stock clearance in which case it would be by the 13th!

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/12/2019 09:39

I love this thread and don't mind that the bargains sometimes slow down. You're all aces in my book, and we're all just trying to give our friends and family a fantastic Christmas! Xmas Grin

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/12/2019 09:46

Thank you HalfWomanHalfHobnob (personally I’m half woman, half dark chocolate digestive!) that’s really useful

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/12/2019 09:47

Every year someone complains that the threads are too full of chatter rather then just bargains. Every year it is as equally boring to read that. If these threads are irritating to you then please, crack on and find your own bargains outside of the thread

luckygreeneyes · 05/12/2019 09:49

Neom codes

Thread 18 - Oh god, stop me now please
PoopaPoopa · 05/12/2019 09:52

I personally love the idea of lots of people coming together to help posters find gifts for their family. And like WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles says, this is a child who’s been seriously ill, where’s the Christmas spirit being opposed to that?? - I know andvent wasn’t referring specially to sixp’s questions but another poster was and came across as quite mean spirited.
I’ve been on these threads for five years (with different names) and I’ve had so many ideas for presents that have come from people asking for recommendations I would never have thought of otherwise and they’ve all been bargains too, no reason why they can’t be both.
Also really sorry @Winterwarmer21I missed your post last night but yes I had a code for use online or instore.

@PinkDaydreams

Here's a screen grab from Martin Lewis's site, he usually has inside info and thinks that Body Shop will do 40% off sometime between 9-14th with a 5 star likelihood

Sixp · 05/12/2019 10:04

You guys have just made me cry! Big hugs to everyone x 🎄🎁

NormaLouiseBates · 05/12/2019 10:07

@Sixp if she likes chilling with Netflix when she's at home how about a really lovely blanket/throw? Something more luxurious than the usual? I got my daughter a faux fur one from Next a few years ago and it is well loved and appreciated every winter. You could even get a heated one for extra luxury!

PoopaPoopa · 05/12/2019 10:12

If anyone’s dc has a Fitbit or general fitness tracker, do they have one specifically for kids or can the adult straps tighten to accommodate a little wrist. My dd is nine but very small for her age.
@sixp I haven’t got a clue about an actual tablet vs the graphic tablet for a laptop/computer but when I was looking at YouTube videos about graphics tablets I saw a couple come up discussing and comparing the merits of both. I ignored them because I knew dd wanted the graphics tablet for a laptop but might be worth having a look.

PinkDaydreams · 05/12/2019 10:17

@BunnyBerries thank you for the body shop tip off!! 🚿🛁🧴🧼🛀🏼
