Thank you @TheGriffle for the title. Lots of mole whacking will be going on over Christmas thanks to this thread!

Anyone used beer52?

What do we think?

I can get 8 bottles for 4.95 (postage).
But santander have cashback so second box would cost 24 but get 20 cashback.

Are they a pain to cancel etc? X

TwistedAnkle · 03/12/2019 20:47

I got an email from Highland hampers thanking me for my custom and telling me all their excess stock was going to food banks. Very noble.
No mention of when my hampers might be dispatched though
Does that sound like they're going out of business??

DelurkingAJ · 03/12/2019 20:48

Turtle doves lucky dip is back. SIGNATURE10 gets you £10 off a pair of the fingerless gloves...up to three pairs and you can ask for a colour range.

gaggiagirl · 03/12/2019 20:51

@BunnyBerries thank you I had been admiring those very ones!

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 03/12/2019 20:56

Beer 52 aren't too bad to cancel but you have to call them up and they will normally try to sway you into staying with some money off your next box.

Tiredmummyof3 · 03/12/2019 21:01

I cancelled beer 52 yesterday and they were fine other than I had to hold for over 10 mins until someone answered! I had to listen to a description of various beers until someone answered properly! Buy once through it was easy!

Renovirgin2018 · 03/12/2019 21:06

Hmmmm. Just looked on Highland site and everything says sold out. I really hope they come through with these orders.

MerryTwinkletoes · 03/12/2019 21:12

Help! Some brilliant secret Santa recommendations so far so hoping someone can recommend something for a lady I really don't know very well..... I know she doesn't have any hobbies, smokes, doesn't particularly like wine or chocs. No idea what she does like though!

Any bright ideas gratefully received 🤞

starrynight19 · 03/12/2019 21:17

renovirgin2018 the ema said they were closing their online shop until January as Christmas orders were now closed.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 03/12/2019 21:30

I really like Beer52. You do have to call and cancel which is a bit of a pain but I am always honest and say I was just taking advantage of a special offer and they're fine with it. I quite often reactivate and cancel my subscription when they have good offers

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 03/12/2019 21:31

Bit random and no idea if it is any good, but I have just ordered a video doorbell thing from Wowcher for £28, which seemed like a good deal.

LetMeLayAmongTheStars · 03/12/2019 21:32

Does anyone have a code for Argos, I know they did the 20% off toys the other week but didn’t have the money to spare then

LetMeLayAmongTheStars · 03/12/2019 21:33

Or a halfords code would be great although I haven’t noticed any of them this year so far

imsorryiasked · 03/12/2019 21:42

@MerryTwinkletoes is she a relative or work colleague? What's her occupation, age, city or countryside, kids?

PurpleSock · 03/12/2019 21:46

Does anyone know is the NESPRESSO by Magimix Vertuo Plus M600 Coffee Machine is one that can be used with the aldi pods?

Renovirgin2018 · 03/12/2019 21:50

@starrynight19 ooops I missed that.

Billsbill · 03/12/2019 21:54

Slightly off topic but I keep thinking of the dispatch programme last night about children in poverty. Does anyone know if the food banks take any Christmas gifts. I could donate a few of the bargains purchased from here? A few hype bags for a start

imsorryiasked · 03/12/2019 21:56

@Billsbill contact your local one - mine was happy to take new children's toys last year.
Bags etc might be better going to the local night shelter?

Billsbill · 03/12/2019 22:07

Good to hear. Thank you I am going to sort my present drawer out and head to the food bank tomorrow. Thanks for the idea of the night shelter too

Renovirgin2018 · 03/12/2019 22:26

Boux avenue have 50% off some lovely PJs. Just bought 2 pairs for dd.

Leflic · 03/12/2019 22:26

Billsbill That’s such a good idea. There is a lot of people not impressed by their Hype bags but they would absolutely make some other child’s Christmas.
Must be some way in this day and age to put the two together.

weebarra · 03/12/2019 22:29

Not really xmassy, but...
DS2 was taken into hospital today with a bone infection. He'll be in for a while for iv antibiotics.
I believe at this time of year the wards are groaning with biscuits and chocolates, so I was wondering what else I could get for the staff?

FastAway · 03/12/2019 22:45

@weebarra PENS!!! Nice black pens. The gel ones are good. That will make their absolute day. But also honestly just more sweets and chocolates are lovely, I promise you nothing will be left. Or Krispy Kreme, if we hear KKs are somewhere on the unit I’m afraid patient care is completely abandoned whilst we stampede to the relevant desk (joking mostly).

Billsbill · 03/12/2019 22:57

@Leflic I keep thinking some of the kids must have such a hard time 'fitting' in. A new bag won't change their situation but may be nice for school. I somehow got one free a few years ago from a link on mn and donated it to a Christmas gift charity. Often wonder if I a preteen out there liked it. It was a much nicer than the lucky dip bags this year.

BunnyBerries · 03/12/2019 23:17

@weebarra

So sorry to hear about your DS, poor dote I hope he gets better very soon. Does the hospital have a Costa or equivalent? Maybe a few vouchers for that so some staff could buy themselves a treat when tired or they need a pick-me-up?
