Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

I did have other pictures but the dc are in them and I don't know how to edit them.

The countdown is truly on now!

It's cold! 🥶🥶🥶

I woke up at 4.40 feeling cold and the house is below 16° too. Brrrrr.

Weird week at work this week as I'm in and out of the office a bit. Then we move office at the end of the week.

I love how we're all turning our houses into grottos! Xmas Smile

Morning. Freezing here too. Off work today as dd isn't well, maybe explains her mood yesterday...

Not sure what I will do with myself! Might wrap some presents...

Mrsmadevans · 02/12/2019 08:04

Morning everyone 😀
Very cold & frosty here but a lovely bright morning 😄
Wreck poor DD l hope she is alright. How about a binge watch of Kirstie , it seems Woolly and l are going to indulge ourselves today if l can after collapsing from the overwork from Mum's 😁
Will you have windows Fluffy? Very important for health l think. You know what l am like about windows 😂
Lovely pics Nero , l love your Nutcracker 🤗

Best shift, Mum wants so much done it isn't true. Suite covers washed, carpets shampooed, tree outside, decorated inside, house spring cleaning, presents bought and wrapped. A tea party the list goes on and on. 🤪. She's always the same even when she was young and could do it herself she didn't do any of it . I love Mum and will do anything for her and l am so relieved she is better but sometimes she takes the biscuit 🙄
Hey ho , have a great day everyone 🤗

Lovely pics Nero

Fluffy I'm going to try not to go to 'grotto' with my decs as we're going away and it'll be a pain in the arse taking them down when we get home

Wreck hope your dd is better soon.

MrsMad is your mum also mine? We have similar - DM wanted the decs done yesterday. Dad got the tree down and when I called to say I was popping in to pick something up she said "great, you can decorate my tree while you're here!" - I didn't do it but she seemed surprised. No idea why, she's perfectly capable!!

I'm in work but systems are playing up so I'm kind of twiddling my thumbs.
It was -2 this morning, I had to de-ice the car 🥶

Weigh in day today I'm sure I shouldn't be nervous but I am Xmas Hmm

BiddyPop · 02/12/2019 12:14

Morning all,
Loving all the pictures of the trees and nativities!! Ours won't go up for another couple of weeks, but DD's advent calendar is out.

I did rest up - I slept for over 14 hours on Thursday night/Friday morning after going into town on Thursday (my GP is near work) and took it relatively easy over the weekend. But I still had to go to Cubs on Saturday, Junior Awards night on Saturday night (slipped away as soon as awards were handed out) - but while I had to drop off the folder Sunday morning for the last sailing coaching day before Christmas, the 2 rostered parents did turn up for shore duty so I only had to turn up again in the late afternoon (to be around for parents to talk to, deal with some problems, and agree a night for a pint (in January) with the coaches after their exams to discuss the spring coaching dates). We had dinner out last night (just an early bird main course en route home) as well as we were all too tired to cook.

Today, I am back at work, but I'm going to work from home tomorrow and Thursday, I think I have to come in for a meeting on Wednesday. And do short days as we have just passed a peak and have some slight relief of pressure for a few weeks. So working on drafting a long doc at home works well!!

I also managed to filter and bottle the limoncello yesterday afternoon - I set it up as it takes a long time and only then heard a rustle behind the fridge......the annual winter visitation had started...so I spent the afternoon pulling out the fridge and dishwasher, cleaning behind them, trip to the DIY store for replacement supplies as I couldn't find them in the shed, and setting up the traps (it's normally DH's domain but he was at work). And then finished the filtration...

Today, I have a diary situation to manage - DH has booked to be in the UK the same day as I travel down the country to our other office for the Christmas lunch (I said it weeks ago and he forgot), and this morning I got an extra complication that DD has her Scouts trip into town to go ice skating that same night when neither of us will be home!! Deep breaths.....

And I have lost the 2 cross-stitch bookmarks that I had finished the stitching on, but still needed to do the backing and finishing - and I need to send 1 in the post overseas this week.

Oh well, my boss is very understanding of my lack of energy as all his DBs have asthma as well, and we have got over the critical hump, so I WILL take it easy this week.

MrsMad that's a good sign that your DM is interested enough to want loads done, I hope that means she is a LOT better!! Enjoy your quiet binge too, I have about 6 episodes of last year's Kirstie recorded to watch, and 2 of Nigella, some night when it gets quiet.

Crazy enjoy the enforced downtime and good luck with the weigh in (we abandoned ours when another girl left the room, so maybe I will do it in sympathy with you, I'll probably faint at the results though!).

70s afternoon tea birthday party sounds lovely, I hope DS enjoys it!!

HairsprayBabe · 02/12/2019 12:20

Got my tree up, I normally decorate the whole house but i just feel too crappy right now.

The Drs have prescribed me some anti-sickness meds but I have to get up and dressed to collect them and I am genuinely worried I will be sick on the way down to the chemists Envy

HairsprayBabe · 02/12/2019 12:25

This is my tree this year

flouncy I just found this on the George / Asda website (systems are still down 🙄)

biddy glad to hear you're resting, it's so important!

I don't know why I'm nervous about the weigh in, I've joined clubs a lot of times before, I think it's just the pressure because it's critical now. I have so much riding on me successfully losing the weight that it stresses me when I think about it.

I watched 2 episodes of Kirsty yesterday. It's such a nice watch but I don't think she ever made anything I realistically could or would make myself!

CrazyBaubles · 02/12/2019 13:00

Ffs sorry flouncy, I forgot the pic!!

Crazy if it helps, I did stand on the scales, and our books says I didn't do that since May...Blush I'm 2.5lbs up on what I was then, which I consider blinkin' good going considering my life the past 6 months!! (And under where I started, just unfortunately on the wrong side of the 13 stone mark when I had made it under that previously).

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 02/12/2019 14:30

Just popping in again. No present shopping yet, apart from pyjamas for the DC. DS2 wants a Nerf gun that I'll have to buy online and I don't want to order the wrong one, so I'll check with him when he gets home, DD doesn't know what she wants yet.

Mrsmadevans · 02/12/2019 14:53

Mrsmadevans · 02/12/2019 17:53

Wreck you are away for Crimbo so you are excused m'dear Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 02/12/2019 18:02

I dunno, Mrs, a tree is pretty essential! 🎄🎄🎄 Are you decorating at all, Wreck?

Flouncy, how many trees are you having? Xmas Grin

Biddy, I'm glad you're on the mend.

Crazy, good luck with the weigh-in. I hate shit IT days; so infuriating.

Flouncy, I'm off on Friday morning, so moving will be quite odd for me. I need to be packed up by the time I leave on Thursday. I'll wear scruffs on Thursday, as my stuff is filthy, no doubt. We are being told to have an extra-long lunch break, but my manager is going to text me before I leave home (hopefully) so will let me know what time I actually have to arrive back (it's usually 1.30 after a half day) so I'm not too early. Hopefully it'll all go well.

Mrs, that's an interesting mix of knitting! 🙈
