Morning all,
Loving all the pictures of the trees and nativities!! Ours won't go up for another couple of weeks, but DD's advent calendar is out.
I did rest up - I slept for over 14 hours on Thursday night/Friday morning after going into town on Thursday (my GP is near work) and took it relatively easy over the weekend. But I still had to go to Cubs on Saturday, Junior Awards night on Saturday night (slipped away as soon as awards were handed out) - but while I had to drop off the folder Sunday morning for the last sailing coaching day before Christmas, the 2 rostered parents did turn up for shore duty so I only had to turn up again in the late afternoon (to be around for parents to talk to, deal with some problems, and agree a night for a pint (in January) with the coaches after their exams to discuss the spring coaching dates). We had dinner out last night (just an early bird main course en route home) as well as we were all too tired to cook.
Today, I am back at work, but I'm going to work from home tomorrow and Thursday, I think I have to come in for a meeting on Wednesday. And do short days as we have just passed a peak and have some slight relief of pressure for a few weeks. So working on drafting a long doc at home works well!!
I also managed to filter and bottle the limoncello yesterday afternoon - I set it up as it takes a long time and only then heard a rustle behind the fridge......the annual winter visitation had started...so I spent the afternoon pulling out the fridge and dishwasher, cleaning behind them, trip to the DIY store for replacement supplies as I couldn't find them in the shed, and setting up the traps (it's normally DH's domain but he was at work). And then finished the filtration...
Today, I have a diary situation to manage - DH has booked to be in the UK the same day as I travel down the country to our other office for the Christmas lunch (I said it weeks ago and he forgot), and this morning I got an extra complication that DD has her Scouts trip into town to go ice skating that same night when neither of us will be home!! Deep breaths.....
And I have lost the 2 cross-stitch bookmarks that I had finished the stitching on, but still needed to do the backing and finishing - and I need to send 1 in the post overseas this week.
Oh well, my boss is very understanding of my lack of energy as all his DBs have asthma as well, and we have got over the critical hump, so I WILL take it easy this week.
MrsMad that's a good sign that your DM is interested enough to want loads done, I hope that means she is a LOT better!! Enjoy your quiet binge too, I have about 6 episodes of last year's Kirstie recorded to watch, and 2 of Nigella, some night when it gets quiet.
Crazy enjoy the enforced downtime and good luck with the weigh in (we abandoned ours when another girl left the room, so maybe I will do it in sympathy with you, I'll probably faint at the results though!).
70s afternoon tea birthday party sounds lovely, I hope DS enjoys it!!
