Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

It's from our own lovely Woolly, Mrs. She surprised me with it! ❤️

And look at the tea cosy she sent me too!

And here's our advent calendar. We're lacking in hanging places for the tree thingy though! Xmas Grin

Hi flouncy! Kittens are doing fab. They are just over two weeks now. Still in the box in the bedroom with Fostercat so uncle side hasn't had the experience yet. But they are little podges!

Welcome Jo :)

The mistletoe ones Mrs

Currently on the process of writing the Christmas cards

Our male cat has claimed our bed (with brushed cotton sheets) as his . He leaves teeny pawmarks on the sheet ( he must levitate as he doesn't seem to shed his PawDirt on the mt )
I reckon washing a sheet is easier than washing a KS flannel duvet cover , so I peel back the duvet on DH side where he likes to sit

DD has a fleece set from Matalan (bought last year) , DS is a CozeeHome one from QVC, years old .
We've had our winter bedding on since Hallowe'en Xmas Grin

The Sukin is from Boots , they had a special offer on , but Jings the website is tedious Xmas Hmm

I have done so much online shopping which (apart from QVC) I'm not used to.
I saw all the Black Friday coverage , they said it was quiet in-store this year .

I need to send DH up in the attic for sure - to get the fleece blankets and cushions (and my other coats that I know I kept but I haven't had to use for the past couple of years . Menopause has it's benefits I suppose )

Planning an "Afternoon Tea" for DS birthday ( he'll be at work that day) - naice sandwiches and cake , scones , pot of tea .
(DD and I went to Bea's of Bloomingdale for tea one year , it was £38 for 2 and distinctly underwhelming ).
I'm looking at poaching ideas from Bettys and M&S , but doing at home .

Good to hear the SideKittens are doing well.

JoGose · 01/12/2019 18:36

Thank you for the welcome emrys

I’ve been thinking the house looks bare this year, we have our tree and our stockings up and some fiddly bits such as tea towels and table mats. I would like my home to look like a grotto but it isn’t possible.

@flouncyfanny Maybe it is time for two double duvets! Me and my DH have had them for a year now and it has been a marriage saver!

CrazyBaubles · 01/12/2019 19:09

My motto is similar when it comes to trees Emrys. When we used to have a real tree it became an annual thing for DH to tell me the tree I picked was too tall, I would be adamant it wasn't and every sodding year he'd have to trim it when we got home and we have 12ft ceilings Xmas Blush

Lovely trees Fluffy and MrsMad. I'm itching to get mine up

Love the nativity Fluffy - so kind of you to gift it woolly
I've made part of one (Mary, Joseph, the Angel, baby Jesus and a star) but not sure what to do with it.

No dramas with our tickets yesterday Mrs and our seats were great, just 7 rows back from the pitch and not far from the try line.

I went to Sainsburys and spent £££. I bought presents and resisted the Christmas bedding (but have you seen the robin bedding Mrs? It's lovely).
I also treated myself to some boots and a Christmas scarf (pic attached).
I'm now cross stitching and watching Kirsties Christmas craft programme and waiting for DH to come home and ruin my festive vibe 🙄

CrazyBaubles · 01/12/2019 19:16

Forgot the pic Xmas Blush

The scarf is bootylicious Cray l love it! Xmas Grin
Glad your tickets were ok DD2 said it was awful there Xmas Hmm
I can't find the Sains Robin one but l did buy this Robin one from Asda when they had a 20% off so it was 11.20 which l thought as good. I bought it home and DD1 stole it off me ad has got it on her bed Xmas Grin
I have recorded Kirsties homemade Christmas and will have a binge on it very soon Xmas Grin
Afernoon tea sounds lovely 70 am sure yours will be a damn site nicer than the tea shops l bet Smile

Well our day wasn't great. Lots of grumpiness and bickering from everyone. Just on the train home.

Mrs dd said it went really well but we haven't heard yet. She's desperate for a distinction.

Ahh Wreck that is a shame, you were so looking forward to it bless you and the lights look amazing too. Perhaps they are just really tired out . It makes cranks of the best of us. Pity about it too but never mind, hopefully DD Piano exam will be brilliant Xmas Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/12/2019 20:57

Welcome Jo

DD2 and I will binge on Kirstie tomorrow.

I did make the advent calendar about 6 or 7 years ago. I bought the panel at an MN meet up at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Ally Pally.

Fingers crossed for your DD Wreck. I'm not at all musical (I sung in church/school choirs but can't play an instrument) and really admire musical talent.

stayingalive when DH and I were in Germany earlier this year we had separate duvets and it was brilliant. DH was able to wrap himself up like a cocoon and I was able to sleep on top of the duvet without bothering him.

Fluffy the nativity looks fab under your tree. I'm glad DS likes it.

I saw beautiful bedding in Matalan MrsMad - woodland style in greens and reds but I introduce Christmas by stealth and I'm sure that would be a bit full on for DH! Although saying that, DH has bought and wrapped all his Christmas presents and I appear to be behind everyone else in the family.
