Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

We're in double figures here today, feels practically tropical! Crown Grin

A partly empty freezer is living the dream, Emrys!

Hope you packed your swimming costume, wreck...

Hopefully you'll all get it over with this week, Neros!

Last day at work/school tomorrow. DS has his Christmas party, so it'll be a relaxed day for them. My boss sent me 4 new matters to work on, so I'm in for a busy day!

But I've sorted teacher presents, wrapped and delivered the presents for my friends' kids. Just need to wrap family presents, and tidy the house. How does it get so untidy so quickly?!?

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 19/12/2019 21:36

Neros, I'm sorry you're in a sicky household. I hope it passes quickly.

Wreck, that's a helluva load of water. Did you even attempt football or not bother?

Em, yay for freezer space! We're getting some now we've eaten many beans!

Biddy, it sounds like you're well on the way to being sorted.

Mrs, your poor SN, I can't imagine what she's going through.

I've finished work and the kids school. They're both on 100% attendance this term, not many others are! They got certificates. 😁

I've just accidentally bought another John Clayton cross stitch. Oops. Xmas Blush

Ds got 100% attendance certificate and best learner. Dd got outstanding reader but she always gets that.

Dd made football albeit forty minutes late. He wanted to go though so we made the effort. We had loads of lightning earlier too.

I'm off work for the next 17 days now

I love an organised freezer! (And fridge and cupboards!).

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 19/12/2019 22:06

I'm looking forward to fridge Tetris next week! 😂

Mrsmadevans · 19/12/2019 22:44

We sorted our freezer out last weekend. l HAD to cook and eat a couple of things that took up a lot of room Grin .
17 days off that is marvelous Wreck ! Well done to the DC too that is lovely to hear they are doing so well Flowers
Fluffy! Xmas Grin Fridge Tetris , another lovely x stitch , good for you , l am glad you treat yourself now and again you work so hard Flowers
Firefly girl , you are very organised well done and it will soon be the end of the day tomorrow and then you will be off! Yay!
Em ,that is brilliant your last day too , don't worry bout keeping up, we are always here lol.
Jo you have been very busy and done very well Smile
Thank you all for being so kind re my step niece , she's a dear girl and was madly in love with her Dh , they were so happy . He was only 45 and he went out for a run and just dropped dead at the side of the road 4 months ago. I said to her you feel as if you are in a dream/nightmare don't you and she said yes .She's hyper all the time and can't settle down to anything, up and down in the chair ,quite restlessSad I felt so sorry for her . The Dc are seemingly alright but you never know with them do you? She's having therapy and the Dc are so she is doing her best . She is my Sister's step daughter and my sister hates her. My Mum told me that she was moaning about her tonight saying that she wasn't paying £17 taking the 2 DC to see Santa, why hasn't she taken them already , she's so lazy etc etc . I explained to Mum that when the Dc are in school they are so fully booked up with things re school , concerts parties etc that she hasn't had a chance to take them. I can't see she has done anything wrong and it makes my heart sink tbh with you because there is no allowance for how she might be feeling re her Dh dying . No compassion .
Anyway, l am going on now but it feels like there is just no hope for my sister and her DH , there is no common decency between the pair of them Hmm
Sorry l am going on now l will shut up
Have a good night sleep everyone Xmas Grin

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 20/12/2019 07:45

Wreck, DH had to keep talking out loud yesterday to remind himself that it was a 2pm finish! 😂😂

Flouncy, it's an affliction! I have so many cross stitches lined up to do. I've liked the JC ones for ages, but refused to pay full price!

I'm liking the sound of your booze fridge. We have loads of beer / wine / spirits too. Xmas Grin

Mrs, your sister is an utter horror. Where on earth does she get it from?!

Go for it mrs we don't mind.

Still raining here lots of flooding and roads closed. Police advising people not to travel.

Just got back from Tesco wasn't too bad. Just enough to see us through to Monday.

I reckon 2 and 3, but no veg-based injuries!

We're off to Scotland in a bit. We still need to pack, then have lunch, then we will leave!

WreckTangled · 20/12/2019 10:00

I'm going to say that you'll spend most of your time being pissed off with people either wandering slowly (I'm a woman on a mission when I shop!) or those who leave their trolley one side of the aisle whilst they stand the other 'browsing' Xmas Angry

BiddyPop · 20/12/2019 10:03

The sun is not on the ground yet, as there is a "lip" of cloud still, but it is a sunny sky and there is no rain!! Hopefully that means this weather is pushing eastwards towards the UK.

DD was like a bag of rats this morning - she needs her holidays!! But she has gone into school and will get the train into town to my office once they are released at 11:45 (definitely not 12!! She's reminded DH and I of that numerous times!!). DSis was slightly grumpy last night - her Head emailed the parents yesterday at 11am to say 3 years had no school today, 1 was finishing an hour early and 2 years had to do an extra hour (to finish exams!!) - all for today. Ridiculously short notice, and as the school depends on buses for a lot of the students, impossible to organise!! And as 1st years are one of those not going in, I wonder how many people were in a panic about childcare last night (I know, at 12-13 lots of girls are fine (DD had been doing it for a couple of years), but there are also lots of girls who haven't yet done the independence thing, don't have a house key, get dropped to school on the work commute, aren't used to making themselves a hot snack or being alone at home …..and need the reassurance of talking it through before being dropped in it like that).

Today, I'm trying to clear the desk before DD arrives at lunchtime - doing her shopping for the afternoon, then meeting DH to get dinner out somewhere on our way to the rugby match. Tree will go up tomorrow, and no other specific plans for the weekend (although some shopping for tasty snacks and a turkey are required, and dropping off a few things to giving tree collection and back to the storage unit as well).

MrsMad, I hope you enjoyed (if that's the right word) catching up with your DSN and spewing about DSis. I am sure DSN appreciates your support.

Wreck, good luck with the tidying.

JoGoose, that picture mad me laugh!! I'm also loving all the tales of fridge and freezer tetris (feeling very guilty m'ladies, also can't squeeze a fish finger into the freezer despite my attempts to empty it!! - where will all my leftovers go?!). There's space in the fridge for some cheese though, and DH and DD will drink lots of milk so I will have room for a turkey....I'm almost sure.... Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Hi to everyone I've missed...desk tetris is calling me (towers of papers threatening to topple...)

NerosFiddle · 20/12/2019 12:14

Afternoon all.

Unfortunately my tummy upset seems to be more serious. I'm currently in hospital with suspected appendicitis.

BiddyPop · 20/12/2019 12:23

Oh dear Neros, hopefully now it will be dealt with though. I guess DH will be minding the house and getting the DCs organised and "doing Christmas" for you now?

Flouncy, while I fear for 4, I hope it was "none of the above"!

Fluffy, good luck with the packing and travel. I hope the roads are decent and you get to enjoy the trip.

Wreck, at least it's a good time to be hunkered down with full larders, decent tv, and just hibernate. Fingers crossed it doesn't get worse for you.

BiddyPop · 20/12/2019 12:30

I had come back here to say that I have an extra few hours to deal with my desk - DD is going to a large shopping centre with a gang from school en route to me. She is definitely getting more independent and capable!! I'm happy that she's doing something outside school with them, voluntarily.

WreckTangled · 20/12/2019 12:39

That's nice for her Buddy. I have to say I have huge anxiety about dd getting older and having to deal with secondary school/friendship/boyfriend/teenage issues

JoGose · 20/12/2019 12:40

neros oh gosh I hope you’re okayFlowers

Will catch up with everyone else later :)

WreckTangled · 20/12/2019 12:44

Oh no Neros I missed your post! Poor you! I hope they get you sorted quickly Thanks

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 20/12/2019 13:04

Oh god, Neros. I hope you get diagnosed and sorted quickly. Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 20/12/2019 13:23
