New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Morning! It's a bit wet today, for now (apparently!). It means it's warmer though.

Last day in work to power through today. I've a couple of new - to me - files to review still, plus today's tasks and the ones which are suitable to do which are diaried for when I'm off. I'm de-mob happy, so it'll be good whatever I do!

I love this time of year when people are finishing off for Christmas.

It's 11° here! Going to rain later and rained last night.

Last working day for me for over two weeks! Woo hoo! I need to go to the post office too. Dc won't be back at school until 5:30 as they're going to see the wizard of oz at the theatre. Ds needs to be at football at 5:45. He's never going to make it.

Have done most of the Christmas prep, not hosting this year because of my row with my sister last Christmas, so we will feel strange but it will be the first Christmas alone as a family ever! I am looking forward to it now.

Morning all! Just dropped the DC in. Much warmer today, but spitting with rain. I’m off out to finish everything for Christmas and then I can finally settle down. It's another day of sickness in the this household. Ds has been sick non stop this morning. And I was up most of the night with bad cramps in my stomach.
Another day laying on the sofa watching tv.

Hi everyone else, I know there’s load of chat and news but life has, yet again, got in the way. I’m still at work until Tuesday (but that will be a very short morning). I’ve a load to get done yet but I have got to the “bah humbug” stage of “it will just happen”. The shops haven’t been as mental as the past few years and I only need the nice bits (meat, nibbles etc) for Christmas itself so I can get those easily - not doing a full supermarket shop makes it a LOT less daunting. (Although I just remembered I forgot to add potatoes to my online order for tonight....oops, too late now, so that’s another job for the weekend). I have wrapped the presents for the local “giving tree” to drop tonight en route home. And we might put the tree up tonight or else over the weekend.

DH is suggesting going to the new Star Wars movie over the weekend, and he was loaned someone’s season family ticket for the rugby as they can’t go tomorrow - so that will be cold but fun!! We were trying to get tickets anyway just not organised yet. So we are trying to slow ourselves down.

Oh dear Neros and JoGoose, I hope you are both feeling better soon, and the rest of the family too!

Well I drove through lots of water then the road was blocked with a heating oil tanker so had to divert again

Mrs we've got more rain forecast from lunch time and a weather warning for rain in place for the four days our house etc is fine it's just the roads getting in and out.

My sister isn't cooking for Mum and l am not worrying about her Christmas day because my Sil is very good to her. My step Neice is coming to call to see us on Saturday, she's just lost her Dh and she is all over the place bless her 💓

MrsMad. I am taking a breath myself. Because I only have a few things to get, the supermarket or local deli is not a problem - I can stand and chat and my arms won't be hanging off. I've got to the "I don't really care" stage on decorations etc, so I decided walking back at lunch to go to the local florist on Saturday and buy some nice flowers to make an arrangement for myself. I bought the olives and hummus I wanted in M&S today so 2 fewer things to get on Monday. I finally found star anise for my mulled wine, and got some lovely fresh herbs as well in Chinese supermarket near my office. And both M&S and Chinese supermarket were en route back from the beauticians' where I'd just had a lovely hour getting a facial (and a little snooze!! ).

Sounds good that your DM is having some nice visitors and a nice lunch, [hugs] for your DSN.

The long way round was fine just this flow of water to contend with and a giant puddle which I wasn't sure of the depth but luckily was ok. The water was flowing so fast across the road.

It's so dark I've drawn the curtains already.

DD just rang - she was due to walk home from school this afternoon, but its raining (still) and "she doesn't have a coat"!! What time could I collect her please? (Having been early every day this week for her, I needed to stay later today and catch up !). She soaked her coat yesterday, and it was drying overnight, she forgot to take it this morning...….[grr] Oh well, she either waits for me at the scheduled time, or manages to twist her DF around her little finger to collect her earlier (and I'm betting it will be the latter, DH is putty in her hands!!)

Thank you Biddy for the hugs for my Step niece, poor kid is only 38, with 2 Dc 6 and 9, it's good to hear you unwinding a bit m'dear, the star anise and Chinese supermarket sound great ! I bet it really smelled like Christmas there with that .

wreck bloody hell thats a lot of water!!

I managed to get everything sorted today! So I am finally done for Christmas, besides putting the Christmas Eve boxes together for the kids, mum and nan. The DC had Christmas dinner at school today, then non-uniform day tomorrow (bloody hate it! All they do is moan about what they’re wearing). Then we are done for the holidays and will enjoy the run up to Christmas now

I have just organised the freezer, there is now one Christmas drawer, one non Christmas drawer and one empty one waiting for Christmas stuff. We are also drowing in chocolate which people keep giving to us.

Christmas Jumper day and last day of term at work tomorrow. I am so ready!
