Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

I wonder want the random messages were from Queenofthree?

flouncy that would be amazing, I keep an eye out in charity shops for that toast rack (that's how we ended up with the butter dish).
Also, phew about looking for 2 toast racks. I wouldn't want to fight you MrsMad 😂

Fluffy my last day is Friday, then I'm not back until Jan 2nd.
We're flying to Glasgow on Sat then picking up a hire car. We're driving to Arrochar(sp) and staying there for 2 days, then Mull for Christmas. Leave 27th to get to Loch Ness - apparently there's a wonderful road with beautiful scenery which DH wants to drive 🙄. Leave Loch Ness 30th, and I think we're getting the train from Inverness to Edinburgh for Hogmanay.

I feel rubbish today. My slight cough has become a tickely annoying dry cough and kept me up for a lot of last night. I am so so tired today, but have work then driving an hour and a half to meet MIL (slightly under halfway between our addresses) to hand over presents and DDog1 as she's having him while we're away 😴

NerosFiddle · 18/12/2019 09:28

Morning.

It's dd's 2nd birthday today. One of her favourite dinners is stew so that's what we're having today.

NerosFiddle · 18/12/2019 09:33

Queen of three had a comment deleted on the poncetastic Thread too. 🤷‍♀️

Crazy your holiday sounds amazing. Room for a wee one? Grin

I also suffer with IBS. Well, they say it is because anything more serious has been ruled out. I find tomatoes and milk chocolate are big triggers but sometimes there's no rhyme or reason.

JoGose · 18/12/2019 10:26

Morning all! Feeling better today, albeit very cold. The fog has lifted though which made the school run easier. I’ve just remembered my DAunt is coming over to drop off Christmas presents, I completely forgot so am rushing around trying to get the house and kids ready.

flouncy I will invest in some gaviscon, thank you.

fluffy I hope your last 2 days fly by!

wreck I hope you get to the bottom of it soonFlowers

mrs I hope you’re feeling better now!

neros happy birthday to your DD! I hope she has a fantastic day🎉🎉

crazy I hope you feel better soonFlowers

Queenofthree was talking about how much money she spends at Christmas, and it was quite a lot of money.

There are loads of Lurpak toast racks on eBay, by the way! No need to fight! Xmas Grin

Crazy, that sounds like a lovely trip. If you have the car you can take food over though?

Happy birthday to your DD, Neros!

My IBS is worse when I'm stressed too, flouncy.

WreckTangled · 18/12/2019 15:50

Not stress I don't think as he had a flare up when we were on holiday having a great time Grin

My house is a tip Xmas Blush

JoGose · 18/12/2019 16:56

Finished my Christmas wrapping! It’s been so dark here today, was already dark when doin the school run

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 18/12/2019 17:13

My IBS can worsen with stress. It's hit and miss generally though.

Wreck, when do you go away?

WreckTangled · 18/12/2019 17:17

Monday! Two families have been struck down with the sick bug though! Nightmare, hopefully mine don't get it, we've been sick bug free for five years 🤞

JoGose · 18/12/2019 17:29

Kids had their flu vaccinations today. I’m hoping they don’t get flu symptoms, I think that’s why schools done it so late, so they won’t have time off school with it

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 18/12/2019 17:39

You can't get flu symptoms from the vaccination, so they'll be fine.

That's not good, Wreck. How many families are going?

DS has never had a sick bug and DD only once.

JoGose · 18/12/2019 18:00

fluffy they can still get fever, headaches and muscle aches. Obviously not the runny nose and coughs you get with the flu. But still can feel quite rough. DD1 did last year bless her.

Mrsmadevans · 18/12/2019 18:09

flounces or tries to Xmas Grin Fanny, l don't want the tost rack now Xmas Grin
Have decided l don't need one because we scoff said tost asap so it will never be used , thank you for thinking of me Fanny Xmas Grin
Crazy you are welcome no need to thank me Xmas GrinXmas Grin
Crazy the hols sounds superb , l bet you can't wait Xmas Grin hope you feel much better very soon m'dear Flowers

FireflyGirl · 18/12/2019 18:11

DH felt rough after his vaccination. DS seems to be unscathed, touch wood.

Thanks to whoever mentioned Gaviscon - I've added it to the shopping list! I only get acid if I drink fizzy drinks or eat too much sugar, so manage most of the year without it Crown Grin

I've just started with an abscess in my mouth so I'm on antibiotics. At least they'll be finished for Christmas, I suppose, but I am in a lot of pain Crown Sad so feeling sorry for myself. I'm waiting for an appointment with the consultant to have my wisdom teeth removed (they're only partly through, and it's hard to clean them properly, so they're the cause of most of the problems).

I have to do bedtime solo, though - DH has gone to bed already. He's seeing the new Star Wars film at midnight, but couldn't take tomorrow off work.

WreckTangled · 18/12/2019 18:16

The reasons the fluenz is being done so late is because they're doing reception to yr 6 this year for the first time ever so it's taken a really long time to get through everyone. Also there's been some supply issues. The nasal spray is a live vaccinations but I've not known any reactions apart from a blocked/runny nose. Injection isn't live so any reaction is an immune response from your body rather than 'flu' as so many think it is. I was so ill after mine but was already under the weather when I had it, I don't think it helped matters one but.

Fluffy there's five families!

Mrsmadevans · 18/12/2019 18:25

I wish l had seen the post Xmas Grin l am soo soo nosy Xmas Grin
Happy birthday to your DD too Nero , l hope she enjoys her stew bless her ! Xmas Grin
Jo, look at you finished your Christmas wrapping Xmas Grin am not jealous no not at all Xmas Grin, thank you l feel fine now , good that you feel better too Smile
Little ones will be fine l am sure, they say to give Calpol for 24/48 hrs at least they used to here Xmas Grin .Fluffy is right re the jabs they are not live vaccine. However chicken pox is doing the rounds down here Hmm my friend has just had to cancel a trip to Legoland with her 3 , the little girl has it. They are so disappointed .
Wreck they will be ok by Monday surely to God , fingers crossed m'dear Flowers
Think l better shift my carcass , Dh is cooking us a roast beef dinner Xmas Grin
l can't wait ! Bags me the burnt bits on the outside Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 18/12/2019 18:26

Oh no mrs! I got mine vaccinated against chicken pox, so glad I did. I did pork loins with roast potatoes, veg and a creamy mustard sauce for dinner. It was pretty good (no potatoes for me though).

Oh l didn't realise the nasal one was a live one Wreck. My bad Xmas Shock
I am way out of the vaccination speak now Xmas Grin
Five Families ? Ahh here's hoping they will be alright m'dear Xmas Grin if not then you will have the place to yourselves Yay!
Firefly girl l do hope you feel much better soon Flowers, the pain is terrible from past experience l can still remember having to drink from a straw luke warm fluids , agony!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 18/12/2019 18:42

Bloody hell, Firefly, I hope you're better soon. How long is the course? I think you have to wait 48 hours after finishing those ones before drinking as they're evil (DH has two courses earlier this year).

The only vaccination my two have ever had a reaction to is the MMR, and they pre-warn about that. The NHS website concurs with Wreck re the kids' flu vaccine (Wreck, do you administer them?). I think it's probably a coincidence re seasonal illness which people link to the vaccine.

Mine had the pox in January this year. DD first, then DS three weeks after that.

Five families is insane! Where is it you're going?

Mrs, have a lovely dinner! 🐄

JoGose · 18/12/2019 18:42

firefly I hope you start feeling better, toothache is bloody horrendous!

wreck that’s interesting, I did think it was really late this year

mrs it was a very weird and random post! I’m pretty impressed with how prepared I am, I just have to hide the presents now. I will give calpol, DD1 is quite sore where the jab was bless her. Chickenpox is rife here too, all mine but DS2 have had it before so touch wood they won’t get it again. DM never had it as a child and got it when she was in her 30s and she was in agony!. Enjoy your roast beef dinner! You lucky thing, we just had cheesy pastaGrin

Quick question for those who do Santa, does he just deliver one present, the stocking or all presents? He delivers everything here and I thought that was the norm but others say he does it differently.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 18/12/2019 18:44

They don't have a jab, Jo. It's a nasal spray for kids. It's also exceptionally rare to get chicken pox twice.

Mrsmadevans · 18/12/2019 18:53

Wreck yours sounds lovely m'dear, l am not having pots either Xmas Grin
I still feel bloated from the damn food last night , serve me right ! Xmas Grin
I am still looking forward to the beef and veg though !
