Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

fluffy in previous year’s I’ve just done chocolate coins, stationary, dummies for the little ones, shampoo. Mainly just things they need really, but I always find they’re really sparse

Mrsmadevans · 14/12/2019 16:35

Ahh Chips that is so upsetting for you m'dear. I am sure that you did everything possible to look after them , bless you 💐

CrazyBaubles · 14/12/2019 19:14

chips I'm so sorry 💐 What awful news.

Sorry I have been mia. Been madly busy at work as I'm away for Christmas so need to leave everything done.
Also picked up Ddog1s ashes yesterday. The lovely vet had taken a snip of her fur and a print of her paw before she was cremated. The paw print was put in a sympathy card and the fur in a little glass vial. So sweet and unexpected.

I went to Cwmbran this morning (got there before the shops opened 😱) and am now so close to being done. I just need a few M&S bits for my dads hamper and a present for DH, but I'm thinking of booking somewhere dog friendly for a weekend on air b&b for him because he doesn't really need or want anything.

DH is at his works do tonight so I will shortly commence my (fairy lights on, rum in hand, watching muppets Christmas Carol) present wrapping evening.

Gave my Christmas cushion present to my friend today which went down well (have attached a pic of each side).

Fluffy I love your cross stitch!

crazy sorry to hear about your dog, but the paw print and lock of fur is a lovely idea.

Mrsmadevans · 14/12/2019 22:12

Crazy, that was so lovely of the Vet to do that , it is no consolation but so very kind of them bless you Flowers
The cushion is fantastic your friend must be otm with it Smile

CrazyBaubles · 15/12/2019 00:07

🎄 10 🎄* *

Thank you for all the kind words about DDog1 and MrsMad about the cushion. I was quite pleased with it

I'm in bed. Have watched muppets Christmas Carol and Fred Claus. Going to try and sleep now knowing DH is going to wake me up in an hour or so when he gets home 🙄

EmrysAtticus · 15/12/2019 07:32

I am so sorry chips Flowers

We picked up DCats ashes this week too Crazy. It is so hard isn't it.

Sorry I have been AWOL it has been a crazy week work wise with my school constantly closing and reopening due to sickness. The Christmas do has been postponed to January as well.

We did have an amazing morning yesterday having breakfast with Father Christmas though. Can't believe it is only 9 sleeps now! DS did throw a curve ball in with his request to Father Christmas but we have managed to get it sorted :)

Planning to start on the food shopping today with an Aldi trip :)

WreckTangled · 15/12/2019 07:49

Oh no chips so sorry Xmas Sad

I'm working at the toy shop today. The owner has said she isn't going to do Sunday's in December again as it's not worth it so I'm anticipating a quiet morning. I am going to get the last bits I need for presents though as have some bits in a bag out the back plus my nephew to buy for. Dd is coming in to choose some pocket money toys for her friends and DH had better but some gifts for his brothers partners dc (who we don't know but can't have them sitting there with nothing to open!) because I'm not paying for them Xmas Angry

Anyway it's only 11-3 so not too bad.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 08:06

Morning!

How lovely of your vet, Crazy. ❤️❤️

Emrys, our school somehow managed to contain noro to reception. Goodness knows how!

Wreck, enjoy the shop.

My stick blender has just died while making batter for Yorkshires. Bugger. Mum normally gives us a voucher for Christmas, so I'll hopefully get one in the sales. We had to resort to the KitchenAid!

We're having hair cuts today. Then I need to go to the allotment. Not because anything is desperate to be done (other than pulling parsnips for dinner) but because I need to get some pre-Christmas calories burned! Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 15/12/2019 08:39

Morning everyone 😀
Wreck l think l would love to work in a toy shop. All those Jellycats and dolls houses to sell play with 😄
Em hope you don't catch the bug m'dear, if it is Norivirus then it is absolutely horrendous. That and C Diff are just the worst , both make you feel like you are dying and if you are elderly and immuno compromised then they can 🙄. Horrible! Enjoy Santa this morning 😄
Crazy ahh m'dear l do hope you are coping , you miss their presence so much 💐
Fluffy have a good day M'dear 😊
My Mum's carpet shampooer told me to put curry in with Parsnip soup , he used to be a chef but he has Chronic problems with his stomach and gut and lives on Ensure and liquid diet so had to give it up as a job bless him. Poor man ☹️.
Am off today going to have a but of retail therapy 😁
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

The crematorium gave us some forget me not seeds which was lovely.

NerosFiddle · 15/12/2019 09:56

Morning all.

Very frosty here today.

I'm sorry to all who have lost a beloved pet recently. Thanks

JoGose · 15/12/2019 11:48

Morning all. It’s absolutely bitter here. We’re going to a winter wonderland thing near us today. Hope you’re all well, will catch up later

BiddyPop · 15/12/2019 13:05

It was very cold and bright yesterday but rainy today. We had the Cubs Christmas party in the morning, buy the tree and bake stuff for last night in the afternoon, and the neighborhood party last night - I was an early departure at midnight (some still partying after 4!🥳). But I am sitting reasonably fresh as a result, on the plane ready to write the last of my cards (and read the papers for tomorrow’s meeting!😂). And I’m way down the back so far away from the screaming baby😱 poor mum).

This week we’ve a lot of tidying to do in the house, wrapping, putting up the tree and garland, but also slowing down. We’ve no evening commitments so that helps!

Oh, safety starting so gotta go...

Mrsmadevans · 15/12/2019 14:58

Wreck your cat is adorable
❤️
Fanny have spent quite a bit 🙄
First thing was a pr of navy blue cloudsteppers from Clark's 😁
They were half price and in my exact size. I simply couldn't leave them 😁
Only bought food afterwards but did have a bargain for Dd2 in Mr T, 70cl Jaegermeister £15 in a box with 2 shot glasses 😁
Jo have a lovely time in
Winter Wonderland 😊
Nero not cold here at all blue skies and mild , quelle surpris lol

Mrsmadevans · 15/12/2019 15:03

Em that is lovely 🤗
I bought a necklace for my friend with a forget me knot in it when she lost her DD ♥️the flower name says it all 🤗
Biddy you call that slowing down m'dear 😂. I don't know how you do it all but fair dos to you 💐👏
Better shift ill gotten gains to put away 😁

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 15:10

Well, it started sunny here and is now rather wet! I came away from the allotment as I couldn't be arsed to get soggy!

The ground is really waterlogged, so was a nightmare to dig. I sorted a heap of muck and roots out instead so we can park at the front of the plot, as it was too steep a slope before.

I'm very tired now!

You did well Mrs, well done!

I'm glad you're winding down, Biddy. Xmas Smile

Thankfully my boots are waterproof, flouncy!

I'm so tired now! And I ache.

CrazyBaubles · 15/12/2019 15:56

How was Aldi Emrys? It was absolutely nuts yesterday when I went!

Wreck what are the chances DH will buy his brothers dp's dc gifts?

Thank you Fluffy, the vet has really impressed me (which is weird considering the reason we've needed them).
Wow the allotment looks like hard work!

Biddy where have you flown to? Hope you got your cards and reading done.

I've just got home from a Christmas meal out with my family. It was nice but I'm so glad to be home. I have to use my new glue gun to try and assemble a wreath (part wicker, part bells & acorns I bought, part crochet things I've made). I have no idea how to do this.

I've also realised this week looks like this (after work all day):
Mon - meeting friend I'm Cardiff then last SW meeting before I'm away
Tuesday - hair cut
Wednesday - meet MIL for meal / exchange presents
Thursday - go to FILs for meal / exchange presents
Friday - out for tea with 2 friends then to my parents to exchange presents.
😮😮
Somewhere in there I also need to pack and do a bit of cleaning 😴😴

EmrysAtticus · 15/12/2019 16:19

It was horrific crazy! Managed to get a good amount of stuff though :)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/12/2019 16:33

Oh that is such a lovely consideration from your vet Crazy . animals are a huge part of the family and you notice so keenly when they're gone .
I still have to remind myself I don;t need to buy parsley, mint, coriander and leafy sweetcorn , I have no guinea-pigs now .

Side very sad about the kittens , so out of the blue Sad

I watched the Dr Who episode with David Morrissey and David Tennant (The Next Doctor) set in Victorian London.
It is donkeys years old (2008) but it beats the later ones into a cocked hat .

I would've loved David Morrissey as the next Dr Who but DH mansplained explained he actually couldn't . ( I wasn't keen on Peter Capaldi and cannot gel with Jodie Whittaker as the Dr )

I have a few more presents to buy , then The Big Food Shop (I'll do in person rather than online . DS is being 'volunteered' to help me Xmas Grin .

It's amazing how long I spend going round all the lights now . Some are on timers . The tree lights are on the Hive App.
No flamed candles , but lots of battery LED with the moving flames .
