Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

Just been to DD’s carol service. It was lovely. It’s brightened up not a very good morning

whoknows1230 · 13/12/2019 12:11

Could somebody link me to the wireless AirPods please, the fake ones?

flouncy it was lovely. It’s in a smaller church so it’s only years 1 and 2 doing it which was lovely and cosy. They all had their Christmas jumpers on too. Was very Christmassy

WreckTangled · 13/12/2019 20:26

Apparently my brother likes peaky blinders. But I still don't know what to get him! He doesn't really drink 🤷🏽‍♀️

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/12/2019 20:32

Would he wear a hat Wreck? Peaky Blinders hat

WreckTangled · 13/12/2019 20:36

I don't think so. It's so hard, I would just get a voucher but I got him a voucher last month for his birthday. Also I feel like he's 22 now and should really not have my parents buying my gifts from him. Next year I'm going to say no more presents. My youngest sister will be 18 then and out of full time education so i think that's fair.

I might have to go to bed soon. I've been up since before five 😴

JoGose · 13/12/2019 22:00

wreck could you buy him a peaky blinders box set?

Mrsmadevans · 13/12/2019 22:25

Wreck what about a Farmer magazine subscription
20 quid for a year

Morning!

God, yesterday was bloody hard. I went sleep on the sofa almost as soon as the kids were in bed. 😂

We have more hideous weather forecast today. Yay!

WreckTangled · 14/12/2019 08:23

Mrs that's a good idea I tend to spend max £15 though.

Jo I don't think he would watch a dvd.

Sorry I'm dismissing all your ideas...he does like to cook, he often gets half a cow from work I was thinking of a cook book or something

WreckTangled · 14/12/2019 08:24

Also ds is still asleep! I only just got up misled, DH has left for work and dd was downstairs watching tv

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 14/12/2019 08:31

Wreck, how about the Countryside Kitchen recipe book? There's a 'used, like new' one for £10. It's an NFU book.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 14/12/2019 08:32

Ooh, forgot what I came here for!

Flouncy, my bargain cross stitch arrived. Xmas Smile

Perfect fluffy! I have bought it thanks so much. Phew! Just need to pick up a few bits in the toy shop tomorrow and I am done Xmas Smile

That cross stitch is going to look amazing I love it

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 14/12/2019 08:48

Ah, I've a warm fuzzy feeling that I helped! Xmas Smile

It has every single square stitched so will take ages. It'll be worth it though (however, we're running out of wall space for them!).

Mrsmadevans · 14/12/2019 09:41

Morning everyone 😀
Fluffy that's a brilliant idea well done 👌
Glad you have a great sleep and are refreshed 😊
Lovely x stitch 🤗
Wreck your wish has been granted 😄
Terrible weather here 🙄
Up Mum's now have a good day everyone 😀

JoGose · 14/12/2019 12:15

wreck I’m glad you’ve got it sorted

fluffy cross stitch looks lovely! Very Christmassy

We’ve been swimming this morning and we have a family party to go to tonight. I can’t believe we’re nearly in single figures. I’ve just realised I haven’t got any stocking fillet’s. What do you usually put in your stockings? The DC are 7, 5, 3 and 9 months old. So not really sure what to put in there, especially for the baby.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/12/2019 12:53

Lovely cross stitch Fluffy that'll keep you busy.

Jo I have older children but the categories of stocking fillers haven't really changed since they were little - just moved to more grown up versions.

Socks and pants (favourite character ones when they were little)
Bath stuff like bath bombs
Sweets
A book or magazine
Something personalised - this year it's pencils. I have bought labels from eBay and stuck them on Nutella previously.
My DDs get makeup now and have done since they were teens.
Other ideas that I've seen on here are cans of fizzy drinks and individual boxes of cereal if they aren't usually allowed them.

For the baby could you get
A Christmas bib (supermarket or Matalan)
Gloves and hat
Little toy (wrist rattles maybe) or a rubber duck for the bath
Baby snacks
Buggy book

JoGose · 14/12/2019 13:15

Thank you wooly they’re all really good ideas. I’m going shopping tomorrow so will pick stuff up

sideorderofchips · 14/12/2019 14:21

For those following my kitten thread in chat, we lost Astrid yesterday and we lost Loki this morning. 4 weeks old

NerosFiddle · 14/12/2019 14:29

So sorry chips Thanks

Afternoon all.

Jo my dc are 3 and the other will be 2 at Christmas. They've both got pants, socks, chocolate coins, colouring book and crayons and swimming goggles.

I'm run off my feet making stuff for dd's party tomorrow. It's just family but I want to make it nice for her. So far I've made sausage rolls, vul au vonts, pizza dough, the marinade for the cocktail sausages and cupcakes.

JoGose · 14/12/2019 14:33

Im so sorry chipsFlowers

Thank you neros, we did get some chocolate coins so that’s done.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 14/12/2019 15:45

I'm so sorry, Chips. How sad. Sad

Jo, what have you put in stockings in previous years? We always do very similar things each year.
