New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

I am so so sorry crazy! What a stunner she was.

It's so hard when it first happens but in time you will remember the joy she brought not the pain she leaves. You gave her a wonderful life.

I'm so sorry, Crazy. I know there's nothing we can say, but just know we're here if you want to talk.

We had our department night out last night. It's the Santa train today, so I didn't drink and was home by 11, but I had a bad dream and so am now awake I wanted a sleep in!

I can't even get back to sleep as DS has a tickly throat so keeps coughing. Very inconsiderate!!

Crazy - so sorry to hear your sad news.

We have a little performance in church of the songs from DS' nativity play this morning. Then DH is giving blood later, so we're all going into town and I'm doing the Nutcracker trail with the kids while he's off doing that. Thankfully it's dry and windy so we won't get wet! (And our darked-on washing is almost dry!)

We were going to take the dc to a local Christmas street party last night but they were so horrible behaved we didn't go. Today is another local towns lights switch on so will see how they go. DH is working and I have a million things to do at home.

DH and I watched crazy rich Asians last night. It wasn't festive but had a better ending than Last Christmas.

Wreck it's good that you refuse to take the DC to treats even though you would probably love to go too. They know that you will carry it through. So many ppl are not consistent. I won't be watching last Christmas , l will stick to my Alasdair Sins 'Scrooge' & my 'It's a wonderful life ' 😄

Am loving the Christmas clothes, you all look smashing there is no way you're getting me in a picture showing off my Christmas derriere
Have been to Knit and nat it was lovely. Mum didn't come, the old misery said she has the squits but there wasn't a lot wrong with her in all honesty She just didn't want to go . We had proper home made mince pies made with lard and butter , they are the best, yummy, yummy we talked about Christmas dinners we used to have in the past, rediscovered a joint love for Leo dried peas, guess what is in my trolley next time l go . I was told a tip for the roast root veg , cook it in the micro for 6 mins first then put it in the hot fat . I don't know if it works but l will be trying it !
Must shift tea to do and sort out pressies for my niece in Brum tomorrow , we are going to take their pressies tomorrow

MrsM that's what my Nana used to say when my mum enrolled her at the local community centre. Always used to start just before the bus arrived...

My uncle (who had learning disabilities) used to go instead - he loved it! They would put him to work calling the bingo and helping clear up after lunch .

We're in the car on the way home, so I can't show you my top, but it's very festive. DS has a Stickman t-shirt from Sainsbury's. It's from last year, but I bought it slightly too big for him and I liked it that much I bought the next size. Good thing - put the 4/5 on him today and it's a bit short in the arms! Gangly child!

We went firefly but left after half an hour because ds wouldn't stop moaning that he was hungry. Apparently the lights failed anyway and then I hit a deer on the way home. It got up and ran off but poor dd is really shaken up.

Pyjama day with a film tomorrow, then? Too dangerous to let the Wreck family out!!

This might give you a chuckle - look what DS got from the Santa train

They were doing (free) 2 minute trips up the track in the engine of the train, and DS was fascinated by it, so the conductor let him keep one.

They were all so lovely, it's really well organised!

It's sat in the hallway, and there it will remain as far as I'm concerned!!

Sounds like a brilliant day, Firefly! Our two would love some 'pet' coal. They'd give it a name and everything (they've both adopted washing up sponges at the moment!).

That's so funny firefly

Fluffy from what we can see the car is fine, I think I managed to stop just as I hit it plus I have a big car. Could see its hair on the number plate but nothing else. It was just a roe deer so not a big one. Dd burst into tears I felt so sad for her.

Wreck, ahh poor DD and you, it must have felt horrible glad there was no damage and the deer was ok
Fluffy the Snowman looks wonderful, you HAVE cracked on with him!

Have bought a fair bit of food ready for Xmas but DH has already started eating it, he came out tonight and said 'have a taste of the Stilton in the jar it's lovely' . He's eaten the potted Stilton, the Tyrrells crisps , the Garners shallots , the M& S beetroot and the Partridge in a pear tree . Not to mention half a tin of Celebrations, no wonder he said he wants to go on a diet after Christmas

Absolutely rubbish night's sleep here. Not good.

I've scrapped allotment plans due to the windy weather and will do Christmassy stuff here instead. I've still got a few bits to wrap and some cards to write, so will do that instead. I'm not subjecting myself to 50mph winds unnecessarily!

I may hide upstairs and finish Snowman!
