Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

How exciting, Emrys! DSis's friend is a teacher and her school has had to do the same.

Touch wood, DS's school hasn't been affected. He's normally the first to pick up stomach bugs and then share them with DH and I!!

I've got the day off as holiday, so I am planning to sort the living room ready for Christmas decorations over the weekend.

I bought some Sherpa bedding from Primark during my shopping expedition yesterday, it's so snuggly I can't wait to get it washed and on the bed!! Xmas Grin

Enjoy your food shopping, Wreck.

I started watching a Netflix film called 'Knight before Christmas', but had to stop watching because it just wasn't believable 🤭 Xmas Blush

I can suspend some disbelief, but for a 14th century knight he was far too comfortable with the fridge/Alexa. And then when she let him drive the car, that was just too much! Xmas Wink

I enjoyed Klaus though, their Christmas special.

WreckTangled · 06/12/2019 07:54

The new grinch is on now tv/sky movies from today. We will he watching that this weekend!

Mrsmadevans · 06/12/2019 08:00

Morning everyone 😀
Off to Mum's in a bit 😊
Wreck l won't be watching it either then thank you m'dear.
Em you can get loads done today ! 😁 Meant to ask you, have you ever been to Biology/Buyology shop in Newport? Only my friend seems to be able to get lovely things from there. She bought a lovely bird RSPB jigsaw 😄 from there for £1.99 which l know would have cost a hellova lot more from the wetlands shop.
Fluffy have a lovely day and enjoy Ds nativity ,ahh bless 🤗
Firefly girl that bedding is gorgeous so soft. I nearly succumbed to it but l have bought so much already 🤗😄
Right better shift have a great day everyone 😀

Bad day in the Crazy household so I probably won't post until tomorrow. DDog1 has had some sort of fit / stroke. She's come around but her eyes are blank and she just isn't right. I'm waiting for the vet to open so I can take her in but she's 15 so I can't imagine there will be many options for her. I think today is going to be too sad for this happy thread.

WreckTangled · 06/12/2019 08:09

Oh no crazy poor ddog Thanks

Mrsmadevans · 06/12/2019 08:15

Crazy 💐am so sorry sweetheart, l know how much they mean to you . Take care 😭

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/12/2019 08:27

Crazy keep on posting if you need to. This thread (and previous years) has had its share of sadness alongside the happiness. It's just what happens to people during the course of a year.

Take care and I hope the vet can help Thanks

NoWordForFluffy · 06/12/2019 08:46

Oh no, Crazy. Poor DDog1. 😢 Look after yourself. Flowers

Wreck, that's very cute!

Sheep DS was very good and seemed to enjoy it. DH was also very good at getting the front of the queue. Xmas Grin

Off to work now. Though they've been in the pub since 10. I'm glad I didn't have to buy a train ticket (I have a season ticket)!

Making a start on Christmas-ifying the house. DS is going to be so excited when he gets in from school. We have 2yo DN on a Friday afternoon as well, who has been in the terrible 2s for a while. Could be an interesting afternoon...

Afternoon! Had a bacon baguette, a banana and Christmas coffee, now eating chocolate reindeer, mini turkey and stuffing pasties and mini pork pies (some with cranberry and some with sage and onion).

DS2 has a trip on Monday to the Museum of London to learn about Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. Not as much fun as DD's trip! Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 06/12/2019 15:17

Thank you for all being so nice. Unfortunately it was as I expected.vet said DDog1 had a stroke and had severe brain damage. She was walking around but her eye sight was completely gone, she wouldn't / couldn't eat or drink and couldn't settle. She kept whining as though she was scared and was clingy which wasn't like her at all.
We had to have her put to sleep and I am beyond devastated. I've had her for most of my adult life (I was 19 when we got her, I'm 34 now) so it just doesn't feel right not having her around my feet but any other decision would be cruel.

She was a scruffy looking patterdale terrier. As a puppy she once jumped on to a kitchen worktop, out the open window and scaled our 6ft fence to go and play with the neighbours dog. She was a bugger for squeaky toys - she would attack it until she has located the squeaker then chew it out 😂 And as she got older she'd taken to following me to the front door when I left for work to demand some love before I left and meeting me there when I got home before following me absolutely everywhere.
I'm going to miss her so much, I don't actually know what to do with myself right now.
Im considering putting decs up just to distract myself.

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/12/2019 15:23

Oh my goodness Crazy your photos are adorable. Put your decorations up. Distract yourself and bring some light and sparkle into your evening.

So sorry for your loss Thanks

WreckTangled · 06/12/2019 15:30

So sorry crazy she was totally gorgeous

Mrsmadevans · 06/12/2019 16:05

Crazy she was so beautiful she looked so sweet. You did the right thing by here it was by far the kindest thing to do . When this happens, all we can do is bury ourselves in finding things to do until the pain gets a little easier to bear. We are all here for you, every man Jack of us, you post when you like we will be here and we all have been through this and know how hard it is to cope with , you just physically miss them so much. Bless you and your Dh and your other Darling dog, they will be feeling upset too l am sure and they don't understand what is going on . Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 06/12/2019 16:20

Wreck the tree is very pretty l am glad you seized the tree by the needles and got one it isn't Christmas without a tree [fgrin}

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 06/12/2019 17:20

I'm so sorry, Crazy. Our terrier cross had a stroke at the end of her life too. Look after yourself. Flowers

I came home, Mrs, after a drink. I've no idea what went on afterwards as I've not been told!
