Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

That'd be one of my Euromillions extravagances, Wreck. Someone to plan and cook for us!

Sorry about the pasta! Was obviously having a bit of a moment... 🤷🤦

How about a chicken stew? You could not call it a casserole in his hearing and just serve him up the chicken and veg 🤭

WreckTangled · 03/12/2019 20:00

He says he's going to wear shorts even when it snows Grin he's really skinny too. Love seeing his little legs with his long socks pulled up 😍

WreckTangled · 03/12/2019 20:01

I do a nice chicken and chorizo casserole with couscous that I could do. I could have cauliflower rice.

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2019 20:07

I think if you use the coconut milk and the paste then you will need to put a little bit of thickener in it too. It wouldn't need a lot though. I would use a little bit of flour mixed with the coconut milk but l don't know if you want to avoid the carbs in the flour although between all of you l don't think it would be much in all honesty Smile

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2019 20:09

I love seeing little boys in short trousers too. Proper school shorts, they are lovely in them. Ahh bless him Wreck he sounds a darling Smile

Grin he's pretty cute!

Mrs I would use xanthan him to thicken no probs.

No snow forecast here just freezing fog.

Thanks for all the ideas you've given me loads to work with, DH is useless and it's tricky sometimes Thanks

HairsprayBabe · 03/12/2019 20:20

More wrapping this evening - in between heaving Envy (not envy)

We have got DSD (7) a play vet set with animals and stethoscope and other doctor's bits and it all comes in a little pet carrier as her main pressie. Then I think 3 or 4 books, some little stocking bits a unicorn squashie, pretty hair clips, Pokémon cards, a mini hatchimal surprise thing, some LOL doll stickers, a DIY perfume kit, bath bombs and a lipgloss set I think we have spent £80ish and I think I have forgotten a few things on that list too

NerosFiddle · 03/12/2019 20:30

What about a curry with cauliflower rice?
We had a vegetable soup yesterday and I have to say it was beautiful. Really warming on a cold day.

Dd has another temperature. She's only over her last bout of tonsillitis a week so I hope it's not another case again. If it is I'm going to request for her to be referred to ENT. She can't keep going on with these temps every few weeks poor wee love.

JoGose · 03/12/2019 20:40

wreck I love DS in his shorts it’s so cute, he’s right little knobbly knees.

neros tonsillitis is awful, they don’t do anything about it until you’ve had it basically constantly. My cousin had it around twice a month for a year before they took them out.

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2019 20:49

No snow here Fanny Xmas Grin
Hairspray babe, that sounds lovely for DSD Smile
I agree Nero home made soup is delish Smile favourite is stilton &
broccoli but l think it might be too carb loaded for Wreck, not sure.

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2019 20:51

Sorry Nero l forgot to say l hope Dd is better very soon Flowers
Honestly practically everyone is poorly atm , hope everyone has had their Flu jab m'dears Smile

WreckTangled · 03/12/2019 20:56

Neros I attended an interesting talk by an ent surgeon. He ranted for ages about the stupid nhs rules regarding tonsillectomies these days. He said there's more a&e admissions for Quincey than ever and that tonsillectomy's have a 90% satisfaction rate. He also got angry because children have to miss school due to being ill all the time when it's so easily fixed. You're not in England though are you so do you have different rules? Anyway if you can push for it.

Mrs I can have soup as long as it's not root veg Smile

Hairspray you've done really well with the presents! I known right now you probably feel like the sickness will never end but it will I promise Grin

HairsprayBabe · 03/12/2019 20:59

I'm due to have my flu jab at the midwifes on the 18th

We have just decided today to throw caution to the wind and announce the pregnancy on Christmas day - my parents and his already know so it is to my wider family. We have been a bit twee and got a baby grow personalised, I'm going to wrap it and after Christmas dinner be like oh - aunty there is a forgotten gift here, not sure who it is for the label has fallen off - why don't you open it and we can work out who it's for... And then watch everyone lose their minds Xmas Grin

NerosFiddle · 03/12/2019 21:44

That's nice idea hairspray.

Wreck no, I'm in NI and we have a serious problem with waiting lists. I think the average wait time is 3 years for a first time consultant appointment.

I saw a recipe for a spiced coconut curry soup the other day, I'll see if i can find it or remember where I saw it. I personally don't like coconut but I know I'm on the minority there.

JoGose · 03/12/2019 21:49

That’s a smashing idea hairspray

Snow forecast near me for next Thursday❄️❄️, that’ll change though unfortunately. I’d love a snow day.

The sprogs are in bed, DS1 isn’t too chesty anymore but has got an awful cough which will most probably keep him up most of the night. I’ve finished tidying and am watching I’m a celeb and shopping for Christmas Eve boxedXmas Grin

Neros is private an option?

I don't like coconut but am starting to warm to it a bit. Never thought I would!

NerosFiddle · 03/12/2019 21:59

Jo I got a Christmas Eve box last year in Aldi. I got a friend to send it over from Scotland cause we don't have one here. I wanted that one because it had tnbc in it.

Ff at last like minded people Xmas Grin

NerosFiddle · 03/12/2019 22:00

Wreck I would have to look to see how much it would cost. I don't think that we could afford it at the minute. Although if it does get worse, I might look at getting a loan out for it.

Mrsmadevans · 03/12/2019 22:02

Lol @founcyfanny
I love Coconut but it does give me tummy ache but its prob because l eat too much of it Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 03/12/2019 22:14

DD's temperature is over 40. Maybe swimming tonight wasn't the best idea Blush she's got a v chest cough too.

JoGose · 03/12/2019 22:20

neros we already have tnbc, I love it. I want some pyjamas and then just some bath stuff.

wreck bless her. Sounds like DS1, everyone’s riddles aren’t they?

I don’t like coconut myself

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 03/12/2019 22:29

DS2 was a sheep when he did the nativity, they had white t-shirts and white or grey trousers. He had some grey jeans. DD was going to be a star in the nativity in reception, she needed a white t-shirt and leggings, then she had a tummy bug on the day. In yr1 she was a narrator, she needed a red or green t-shirt, so she wore her red PE polo shirt, and red or green tinsel. They generally need some kind of costume for the Christmas concert.
