Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not!

I don't mind getting him a costume, but seriously, where sells white trousers for 4 year olds in December!! He has lines too, we practiced them tonight. He's pretty good at them, actually.

It's all fun and games in the Firefly household tonight. The door handle to the living room door has jammed, we're stuck in the hall/upstairs. Why don't you go around outside, in through the back door and see if you can get the door open that way, you ask. Well, we could - if DH hadn't locked it and left his keys in!

The cats can get in and out. Maybe we can train one of them to open the door...

Or, put DS through the cat flap. Is that child cruelty? 🤔

3 weeks!!!!!!

Firefly, that sounds rather challenging. Have you managed to get it sorted? Or are you going to have to escape via an upstairs window today?! DS though the cat flap would work though. If he'll then follow instructions on the outside!

I think we're quite unusual in rarely needing to provide any costume. Out of 5 nativities, this is the first one we've been asked for anything.

Wreck, I hope your DD is better soon. DS had / is recovering from that bug. Just the cough to get rid of now!

I don't mind coconut. We don't have a slow cooker though, so I have no recipes!

Took the better part of an hour, but DH managed some trickery with the cat flap and DS's extendable fishing net and got his keys out of the lock to get in through the back door, then jimmied the broken latch with a pen and some hair grips. He thinks he's McGyver now...

The front door is this side of the living room door, thankfully, so no window exit required.

Woohoo! We're nearly there now! I'm going to have to start wrapping soon. That's my least favourite part, and I had hoped to get it done before now, but that plan was somewhat scuppered by DS being I'll at the weekend. Ho him, maybe tomorrow night!

Cold and icy here again. Dd still coughing. Dosing her up and she's going to school though. DH and I have too much work on and will be both having to take time off next week for my jury service. I'll try and finish all my work today so that I can be off tomorrow if need be even though it's DH's turn.

I'm going to the cinema tonight to see that Christmas film with the really awful reviews. Can't wait!

I've got a few more things to wrap, but not a vast amount, thankfully. Mostly presents from other people to the kids. And the selection boxes / DH's birthday and Christmas presents. Must get on with it!

I also need to frame my cross stitches when they're done. I did quite a bit of Snowman 2 last night. It's all white so far so doesn't like very impressive yet! I'll get colour done later, so he'll start to take shape.

Your DD might be OK once she's at school and involved in stuff.

DH just reminded me that he has to go to school early on Friday morning to queue for DS' nativity. I'll drag the children to school and go at the normal time...we are those parents.

I loved the Christmas concerts with the children 🤗 you have a great time all of you with little ones . When you get older you miss things like this.

Poor DC who are poorly, it seems there is a DC per family here who are poorly at the moment. The last few weeks in Primary school are lovely this time if year 😊

It’s so cold here, we didn’t want to get up for school😂. DS1 has perked up today, he hasn’t coughed all morning but he didn’t sleep very well last night because he was coughing so I’m giving him the day to rest and hopefully he will be back in tomorrow. Normally it’s just me and DD2 and DS2 at home in the week, so it’s been nice having him home with us, even if I do want to tear my hair out😂. If everyone’s feeling better we will drive around and look at the lights tonight.

Jeez, I still don't know what DD wants!

Had eggs, bacon and multiseeded toast, a banana and Christmas coffee today, just had olives and nearly a whole tub of cranberry sausage rolls.

I'm knackered today. I had two conferences today, so was out of the office for 4.5 hours and didn't get lunch until well past 2 (while I was walking for the train!). I also had to have a wee in Bootle Asda as I was bloody desperate and didn't want to use the client's loo! 😂

All in all, today was a total write off.

What did you get up to today, Mrs? And you're right, I'm well ahead of last year, mostly because we're away just before Christmas, so I've lost prep time!

It hasn't got above 1° all day here. It was sunny when I was at a school this morning but at the office it looked like this all day...literally hasn't lifted at all

Dd seems ok thank you. She got into her pjs straight away but didn't need any medicine at schools (our school are really good about giving calpol if they're under the weather) so hopefully she will be ok.

Evening everyone
Fluffy I have been to Cyfarfa Parc in Merthyr and had a good look around, managed to buy our one, must have, Cheese tasties from
M & S in a big orange pkt like big Wotsits we love them . Also bought my cranberry sauce, beetroot and pickled onions there, I noticed especially for you Fluffy that Chilli Jam was £1.50 a jar and selling like hot Chillies . Did a little shopping for Mum and dropped it in to her and to check on her legs which looked fine thankfully. Then came home, popped in to see my NDN and then collapsed at home in front of the telly lol.
DH has cooked us a lovely roast Chicken dinner and here l am post fed on here all is well with the world.
Wreck that is great DD is better it was very foggy here in the afternoon and very cold it wasn't -1 though!

Morning!

I'm tired today, but it's my own fault, so I can't moan. At least I can 'lie in' until about 7 tomorrow as it's DS' nativity!

I've so much to do at work that I don't even know where to start, frankly. 😂 Ah well, it'll be done eventually.

The Christmas film was ok. It has the full Christmas cheese. I don't want to give anything away though so won't say anymore

That sounds lovely mrs we won’t get our Christmas food until next Thursday, otherwise we’d end up eating it all.

I’m knackered. DS1 is back in school today, so I’ll be able to nap when the two little ones do. It’s freezing here again, 2 degrees. It’s still saying snow for next Thursday so I’m keeping everything crossed. Plans for today are some Christmas crafts with the little ones and then we’re going to my NDN’s.
