Thank you @Barbarara for the title!

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

No email and not saved under offers- will have to contact them 😕

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2019 07:22

Have the points definitely been deducted, @SparkingXmas? Their online chat opens at 8am, so try to contact them then.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2019 07:23

This is what mine looks like in saved offers.

I am usually in at 9am - straight from the school run. Store opens at 7am. 9am has been fine.

We have moved house and have 2 stores near us. I am going to the further away one because it’s bigger so should have better stock. I should be there by about 9.15am and it only opens at 8am so should be ok.

DH works away and doesn’t come home until Thursday evening so we’ll either go tomorrow night with his voucher or on Friday morning. We’re not going for any of the big ticket items like switch/Xbox games. The only thing we’re hoping for is a NowTV stick, but don’t know if they even sell them!

doctorboo · 13/11/2019 07:36

I think I’m almost done Christmas gift wise. It’s helped only having to buy for the children in our family, and my parents. I’ve just been looking at cat mugs to top off a gift bundle.

...I’ve just realised I haven’t got anything for the older nieces and nephews (16-22yo), which is very unlike me, but I’m very reluctant to spend even a fiver on the six of them this year as they all have have decent money coming in: their jobs, parents, pocket money from grandparents and some of them have a mixture of all three. Plus they never say thank you. Only last week the 16 year old was saying they get £20 a day (M-F) for looking after their little brother for 2 hours after school and they love it as it’s easy money. /endrantyrealisation

My dad requested bird boxes/shelter and I found this on Amazon as an Add On for £3.99. There are others selling 6 for £12, for example, but I didn’t know how they’d be packaged. This single one is in a decent box and he’ll be pleased.
I’ve added some bird food too as he worries about how his garden buddies will fair over the winter months.

I've just been into Boots. Gift sets are 25-50% off.

I got a Jack Wills hat with body lotion for £10 and gloves with hand cream and lip gloss for £10. Over the moon as I'd have paid more than £20 for a hat and gloves set anyway!

Notlongnow1 · 13/11/2019 08:00

@doctorboo that sounds a good reason not to give them cash but surely wouldn't stop you getting them a gift. I would imagine lots of people you buy for earn a good wage. I understand the seeming lack of gratitude is frustrating but the transition from childhood to adulthood is a tough one and it may simply have been forgotten. Not having a dig at all, sorry, just hit a nerve as I remember quite a few people stopped buying for us suddenly at this age and it stung! I would get a small token gift (a lottery ticket and small chocolate is the go to in our family!) Wrapped thoughtfully with a nice message :)

SlayingDragons · 13/11/2019 08:06

Ooh - thank you for the heads up on Boots gift sets. DC always get a set of toiletries at Christmas and I haven’t got for DS yet - will head to Boots after Sainsburys.

Does anyone know if advent calendars are included in the double up? I’ve got for older two but still need to get for DTs and haven’t seen any decent offers on them yet so may get them with my voucher if you can spend on them. I know seasonal is included, but I can’t remember from previous years of seasonal food is included

abitoflight · 13/11/2019 08:07

I'm looking for a s shark stick cordless. Is there a Black Friday thread?

andi76 · 13/11/2019 08:07

I've bought an EasiYo yoghurt maker for my kids for Christmas - slightly strange as they are 9, 10, 12 & 14, but they eat so much yoghurt.

It's £9.99 with 2 starter sachets at Lakeland, so I figured it looked a much bigger present than the cost. It's here

Might be of some use for some of the hard to buy for people?

I've only ever used my Gran's ancient yoghurt maker before (& I hate yoghurt), but I think the end product is usually edible.

SlayingDragons · 13/11/2019 08:25

Just checked and it says “Christmas non-food” for double up so I guess that means no advent calendars. (Unless I get non-food ones for them) Gutted.

SlayingDragons · 13/11/2019 08:27

Any bright ideas for nice advent calendars which are more than the basic chocolate but cost less than £7 max each? DS is getting a hot sauce one which I got in B&M for £2.50. DD1 is getting a tea one from Asda which I got for £5 because I bought it on the 3for2. Still need to get one each for the DTs, but need them to be cheap.

Smelly50 · 13/11/2019 08:28

M and s vouchers for those who wanted them. Valid from 14th to 18th

Morning!!! Well you bargain hunters made me download the nectar app this morning and I have £53!!! I'm so excited.

So if I get a double up voucher and don't spend it - do the points go back on my card? I'm so new to all of this but want to learn, you guys have really turned me into someone who never pays full price for anything!!!

Any tips for the double up? All I know is I have to spend them in store...thanks so much :)

bakingcupcakes · 13/11/2019 08:33

slayingdragons Morrisons are doing the cuboid (?) shaped Cadbury 3d advent calendars for £5 at the moment. I saw them on monday. They look quite impressive. They're £8 everywhere else. They have stickers in too I think.

Thegirlhasnoname · 13/11/2019 08:34

If you don’t spend the double up vouchers then the points disappear for good unfortunately. We had an issue with a lost nectar card and paper vouchers last year that I’m still slightly bitter about!

Thegirlhasnoname · 13/11/2019 08:36

Also, not massively bargainous but very tasty. Lindt have some discounts on their Christmas stock. Tradition to get everybody a bear/reindeer so any savings is good for me!

Yeknom · 13/11/2019 08:41

@Thegirlhasnoname oooooh gosh! That's haaaaarsh! So with the app if I double up they double up all of them?? x

weebarra · 13/11/2019 08:42

Thank you for all the bargains so far!
Looking for a raclette grill for DH if anyone knows of a bargainous one?

Oreocrumbs · 13/11/2019 08:50

Yeknom you can double up in £5 increments. Since you have the app and the voucher appears instantly (well mine did) you could go and have a look around Sainsbury's and when you have decided if/what to buy then change enough points to cover it.

In the app it tells you which departments are included and what exceptions there are in it.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2019 08:54

@SlayingDragons, when it says non-food, I think it means mince pies, puddings, party food etc, not advent calendars. Customer service can help though.

Yeknom · 13/11/2019 08:55

Thanks @Oreocrumbs !!! And I swear last question - I'm not going to get to a sainsburys until Friday - can I wait until then to activate and do it in store once I've decided what to buy? Or is the last activation date today?

(My kids are too young for computer games etc so it'll probably just be on booze and Christmas wrapping paper!)
