Thank you @Barbarara for the title!

Ref the Velvetiser I tried it when visiting nearest Hotel Chocolat shop - I expect a lot will be demonstrating it to sell them - for the poster wanting to try why not ring your local one to see if they are doing this so you can try it out ?

What I liked about & I do not like hot chocolate that much is that I could drink it straight away as soon as made , the smooth taste - she made it with the milk chocolate sachets and it was not thick and gloopy which I find a lot of hot chics served in cafes (DH does like hot chocolate).as its drinkable straight away DS will enjoy using it too .

It is a lot of money but l can afford to buy it for DH and he would never buy it for himself thus making it ideal as a gift.

Last year I managed to double up about £250 to £500 with nectar points from a single card - but I did it split between several different shopping trips and no single item and no single shop bigger than the limit. I kept thinking they would stop me and say I had had enough but they didn’t (and then I ran out of points!).
However it was a pretty chaotic process so it wouldn’t surprise me if their systems just weren’t up to it and this is one of the reasons for the changes to the app...

However I may well try again on the offchance that it works again this year...

delivereeee · 12/11/2019 22:16

@wibdib yes, I used to do that when you changed them at customer services. I'd imagine the app will stop that though. I'll give it a go though

I'm not sure how useful this will be, but I went to the Saltrock Sale Shop in Penryn today. There's some great bargains to be had!

Lots of styles of the jute shopper bags were £1/£1.50, I got 3 for £5.

The jute stockings were £2/£5, so worked out at £3.50 each for the 2 I got.

Large knitted stockings were £6, instead of £19.95.

Best bargain was £12 for a cashmere blend scarf which should've been £40, and cashmere blend fingerless gloves for £8, instead of £22.95.

I spent £50, on a £133 total! Might have to go back next week.....

Have those that ordered paper double up vouchers recurved them yet? I'm still waiting for mine!!

Bryna · 12/11/2019 22:46

*received!!

Puffinhead · 12/11/2019 22:58

Does anyone know if Smiggle is likely to have any other discount offers soon? They currently have buy 2 save 25% but I only want one item! (A rather expensive travel bag at £40.) Do they bother with Black Friday offers?

Maranello · 12/11/2019 23:14

@hotchocdrinker @buckeejit and others pondering the velvetiser- I was given it as gift last year and can honestly say it's one of my favourite ever presents. I use it every day, pretty much. Hotel Chocolat do send out codes every so often and though they usually (always?) exclude the velvetiser, you can use them to buy the sachets.

I haven't tried this code but it's supposed to offer 20% off: 9696861

starlingsintheslipstream · 12/11/2019 23:22

Bryna Ordered mine on 5th November and got the paper vouchers in the post today.

buckeejit · 12/11/2019 23:31

Thanks - I have taken the plunge into the pool of semi warm hot chocolate to surprise dh with a velvetiser for Christmas as he's not that keen on hot choc anyway. But I'm excited. Also ordered 2 of the smafolk bags for 11-12. Both will be too big for dc but I really like some of their stuff so it seemed like a good idea.

Can I ban myself from this thread after 8pm? It seems the only way.....

Imnotweirdimlimitededition1 · 12/11/2019 23:40

@Whyisitsodifficult would you go for the camo sticker for the Xbox controller- widely available on eBay & only a few pounds?

thaegumathteth · 13/11/2019 00:09

Speaking of thread babies my first baby was due at the start of December. I didn't do any shopping before because I had visions of prancing round the shops with my cute baby in his pram and all the twinkling lights. He was 13 days late and it was a very long time until I was up to prancing anywhere.

I think that's why I now am hyper organised because I'm still traumatised!

KavvLar · 13/11/2019 01:51

Please may I have an m and s code if there is one spare? I'd be very grateful.

I'm expecting chaos with the Nectar double up. I ordered £40 doubled up to £80 worth of vouchers of October 31st. They still hadn't arrived on Monday so I went on live chat and they said to forget about the paper ones and they'd add the points back to my account to convert on the app instead.

The paper vouchers turned up this morning. Went on the app and they have put the points back on but I can only convert £10 to £20 as it seems to think I've already converted the £40 to £80 and reached my limit.

CupoTeap · 13/11/2019 06:22

Who wanted food decs? Tiger has loads.

Also do the nectar point cover switch games, never bothered before but if it's on the app I might.

delivereeee · 13/11/2019 06:27

Kavlar you've got the vouchers though? So that's still your £100 and you got the points back. So a free £40? Nice one.

You can use the points on switch games yes, unless it says on the shelf to buy that item in Argos. I'm going to a store that doesn't have an Argos in it

CupoTeap · 13/11/2019 06:32

Good point, mine doesn't but if it's out of stock when I get there I might be stuck. Do you think I can change my vouchers when I'm in store, they must be instantly available?

delivereeee · 13/11/2019 06:35

Yeah, they're instantly available. I'm changing mine in store. Don't know why as I've a huge lost to go at. I'm going for the shop opening in an hour like a crazy lady before the switch games get snapped up!

LadyNina00 · 13/11/2019 06:35

New Argos deal starts today until Tuesday. 15% off Paw Patrol, Hatchimals and Meccano with code PAW15

flooredbored · 13/11/2019 06:39

I got some velvetiser sachets on an ocado flash sale recently. I don't have a velvetiser but do have a lavazza milk up milk frother. I watched a couple of videos of the velvetiser on YouTube and I would say it produces exactly the same hot chocolate as my lavazza. The lavazza also makes great milk for coffee and can froth cold milk. I think the RRP of the lavazza is £59 but it is on offer at Lakeland and amazon for £39 at the moment. It also look easier to clean as I just shove the stainless steel cup in the dishwasher after.

SlayingDragons · 13/11/2019 06:41

For all those exchanging nectar points today - DH and I have 2 cards but 1 account. (His is just a second card on the main account) We both have the app downloaded.

We have managed to exchange £100 worth of points for £200 to spend - £50 doubled up £100 each.

Not sure if we could spend them in one transaction but I don’t think we’ll need to because we don’t have any items we want which are over £100 anyway, so we’ll do it in 2 separate transactions. I’m off today to spend the first £100 then when DH gets home tomorrow we’ll go and do the rest

SparklingXmas · 13/11/2019 06:51

I can’t find my my double up voucher on the app! It’s not under saved but the points have been deducted- any ideas?

Oreocrumbs · 13/11/2019 07:01

Have you had an email for the voucher as well? My voucher is under saved offers on the app and I have had an email confirmation.

CupoTeap · 13/11/2019 07:07

Argh don't say I need to be there at store opening Confused

delivereeee · 13/11/2019 07:07

Haha @CupoTeap I'm not risking it but you can!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2019 07:10

I'm only getting booze with the double up, so will be going tonight, or maybe tomorrow night. It's only open until 8 here (shitty little store!), which isn't helpful after work!
