Luxplus I’m getting my grandmother a cardigan, probably from M&S, it’s hard to know what to buy her as she gets so many food gifts and has too many house plants that people keep gifting her. One year I bought her a nice tea pot as she likes using one when family come over.

recklessgran · 12/11/2019 16:08

@Luxplus photogifts are the way to go. One of my DD's had a pic of her DD put on a tin and then filled the tin with shortbread if I remember correctly. That tin now houses my sewing kit and makes me smile every time I get it out. Would something like that work or a photo cushion or throw?

username2020 · 12/11/2019 16:08

I'm still looking for hot chocolate too but agree the velvetiser is way too dear. I'm looking for a hot chocolate kit around £20 max maybe but good quality too.

Whyisitsodifficult · 12/11/2019 16:09

My ds is after a camo wireless Xbox one controller cheapest I can find is £54.99, does anyone know if I should wait for Black Friday? I’m not sure if this sort of thing would be reduced!

Tiggles · 12/11/2019 16:12

@fueledwithfairydustandgin if you are on face book, look up jurassic Jim. (or he has a real shop on Isle of wight). Drop him a message with your budget and what you want and he will probably come up trumps. He has fossils of all grades, as it were, so can often produce things slightly cheaper. If he knows it's for a child he will probably do you a very good deal.

Luxplus · 12/11/2019 16:15

@Lovemusic33 she just turned 100 in September and got loads off clothes.. Blush
But @recklessgran a throw might be an idea.. perhaps a nice woolen one for the cold winther...

eitak22 · 12/11/2019 16:16

noodledoodler Home bargains often has Bamboo coffee cups in for about £2.

WreckTangled · 12/11/2019 16:29

Quick question not sure if anyone will know the answer.... getting ds a kids garmin for Christmas and have a £50 curry's voucher. It's currently on offer for £59.99 (£20 off) does anyone think it'll go any cheaper on Black Friday?!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 12/11/2019 16:31

@WreckTangled I haven't seen them cheaper watched (no pun intended) for mths before son turned 9 in Aug and that was best price and he loves it he has the marvel one.

Dangerfloof · 12/11/2019 16:32

Some dinosaurs teeth here. Might even be in the black Friday sale. I have no codes sorry but I'm waiting on the sale.

Stolenidentity · 12/11/2019 16:33

With chat turning to more adult and inebriated Christmases, I thought I'd offer what is meant to be this year's game. Search Sumo Squat for stock at Next, Amazon, Prezziebox -£10.

WreckTangled · 12/11/2019 16:37

Thanks east I'll buy it! 10% tcb plus a £5 e voucher too which is good. I'm pleased to hear your ds likes it.

noodledoodler · 12/11/2019 16:54

deemeff · 12/11/2019 16:57

@PinkJam oh sorry, I didn’t check it was in stock! I just assumed as I ordered it last week and returned it today! So they should get that one back in a couple of days - hopefully you’ll get an email alert (nothing wrong with it just a change of mind)

@username2020 my very favourite hot chocolate (and I have tried many - see my username...!) is this one:

www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/charbonnel-walker-the-chocolate-drink-original/394896-145456-145457

You wouldn't believe the difference a decent whisk makes, and I have these:

www.lakeland.co.uk/6312/2-Small-Stainless-Steel-Wonder-Whisks

With a couple of lovely mugs and some marshmallows it would be a lovely gift perhaps...

recklessgran · 12/11/2019 17:11

@Strawberrypancakes there are regularly 20% codes for ASOS but I can't find one currently. It might be worth waiting but if you don't want to wait I can give you a 10% off student discount code if that would help you?

OdeToAutumn · 12/11/2019 17:16

@Strawberrypancakes ASOS just did a 20% off which finished this morning. They’ve been coming up regularly every couple of weeks lately.

Also if you register as a new customer you can get cashback through topcashback

noodledoodler · 12/11/2019 17:30

Thank you @eitak22 I saw them today, they are nice and compact and come in slim packaging, £1.99, lovely

noodledoodler · 12/11/2019 17:32

@Whyisitsodifficult there is a good chance wireless x box controllers would be in black friday sale but probably very hard to get, they will likely sell out quickly so get ready to strike. Tesco direct used to match amazon very closely on gaming black friday deals so try in store too

noodledoodler · 12/11/2019 17:38

Is the OP who mentioned the next beauty box on this thread, I have a question please?

PinkSpring · 12/11/2019 17:44

Thanks Catlady - looked at the Aldi Special Buys and ordered £40 worth of random Christmas secs Confused

PinkSpring · 12/11/2019 17:44

Decs even....

Coldilox · 12/11/2019 17:45

Thanks for all the bunny onesie suggestions, I went with the eBay one in the end!

Next question - my mum wants to get him a build a bear gift card so we can take him to do it. Is it ever possible to get discounted gift cards?

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 12/11/2019 17:56

Thank you so much for all the tips. There’s some brilliant fossils that he’ll love and I’m off to look for a nerf gun on eBay. Thank you all Flowers[santa]
