BuffyFairy · 12/11/2019 14:38

Fueled try here for fossils dinosaur fossils They have some reasonably priced triceratops stuff. The fossil kit is very small but good value, you get a tooth, some egg shell and some bone in it.

imsorryiasked · 12/11/2019 14:44

@StudentHelp how about this one further 30% off with code MX43

Willow4987 · 12/11/2019 14:50

Givealittlebit · 12/11/2019 14:53

@recklessgran that game is legendary in our family, although slight variation (and just called the sixes game - we've played it at various times of year!)
All presents wrapped, everyone brings one so most people don't know what the majority are, a few nicer ones. First round of you roll a 6 you can choose a gift and keep it in your stash (which needs to be visible). Once all gifts are gone we set a timer (5/10 mins -you'd be amazed how quickly it goes!) and then in the flash round if you roll a 6 you can steal a present from someone else. But they're all still wrapped so no one knows if what they are stealing is any good or not! We've had people spend the whole game fighting over the strangest things, but no one has a clue until the timed round is finished and you can all unwrap!

Catching up on last few days, does anyone have a Whittard discount code?

I have a hotel chocolat one:
HC1NOV525
Min £25 spend

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 12/11/2019 15:00

Not a gift, but if anyone is on vodafone then check in your Veryme, you may have a code to get 2 months of Now TV cinema for £2 which means cheap movies all through the xmas period.
Unfortunately I am not on Vodafone (darn giffgaff) so if any kind person has code they can't /won't use I'd be super grateful for a PM. My kids are already asking to watch Christmas films! Alternatively I have a code that I can't use to get 2 months entertainment for £2 which I could swap you.

NeedMoreTea · 12/11/2019 15:00

@Luxplus the Peppa pig house was played with loads in our house. We also had grandpa pigs boat.

@recklessgran mean Santa sounds brilliant, might try that this year.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 12/11/2019 15:05

Also, anyone looking for good deal on FROG bikes, Winstanleys Cycles have 15% off them which is really unusual.
I ordered yesterday and it's just been delivered.

RubySlippers77 · 12/11/2019 15:11

Sass & Belle have very pretty water bottles on buy one, get one half price at the moment - plus if you sign up to their newsletter you get 10% off.

@Bryna thank you for the Friendly Soap code, just used it, I was holding on for Black Friday but that's one order off my list! I've just bought this Bomb Cosmetics gift set too as it's gone down by £3.

@wibdib thank you so much for the paper bags tip!!

PinkSpring · 12/11/2019 15:20

deemeff · 12/11/2019 15:25

@PinkJam The duplo frozen castle is £36 in John Lewis. Free click & collect to stores including Waitrose

youscumbagyoumaggot · 12/11/2019 15:30

Love the idea of Mean Santa, thanks for that. I'm wondering about an additional number on the dice meaning that everyone has to pass a gift to the left so someone who had nothing may end up with something. Obviously I haven't played so don't know if that's practical but I like the idea of plenty of different actions for dice throws.

Anyway, no bargain here but a tip (that hasn't really been done in practice as my DC are a bit little for it to matter). If you're waiting up on Christmas Eve for them to fall asleep so that you can sneak their stocking out to fill it, buy duplicate stockings. Then you can fill the secret one whenever you get the chance and just have to swap it out once they're asleep.

Reluctantbettlynch · 12/11/2019 15:38

24% off selected toys, fancy dress and stationery at Shop Disney with code TOYTUESDAY expires Wed 13th Nov at 23:59 - seen on MSE page

recklessgran · 12/11/2019 15:42

@youscumbagyoumaggot of course you can make up your own rules but you get the gist. We keep it simple as let's say we're usually a bit inebriated when we play it! You've got me thinking now........

PinkJam · 12/11/2019 15:45

@deemeff Thank you, it’s showing out of stock on John Lewis website but I have put my email address in to be notified when they get stock. If I get chance then will try and pop into a store later this month to see if they have it.

youscumbagyoumaggot · 12/11/2019 15:46

@recklessgran I wondered if I was getting too complex but I like the idea of the chaos haha

EvilHerbivore · 12/11/2019 15:54

Just bought this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073NZ5ZMN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8 rainbow beaded watch for dd for £2.99, reviews are not brilliant but dd is likely to break it anyway, thought it would make a good stocking filler.

Luxplus · 12/11/2019 16:00

I also need ideas for my great grandmother, she doesn't have any wishes for Christmas Halloween Confused ... we are giving her a picture of all 9 great great grandkids but besides that I'm empty for ideas...

hotchocdrinker · 12/11/2019 16:01

@buckeejit I've been looking at the velvetiser too but can't justify the expense (when heating milk in a pyrex jug and using a small whisk must surely be just as good...!) but read somewhere earlier in the thread that QVC have it. It's still £99 but comes with 2 cups and some sachets of hot chocolate as wells at least you're getting more for your money:
